  1. A pony?
  2. I'd bet that they simply don't have the production capacity to build enough AWD cars to make it profitable. Cars like this really need a facility with more production capacity if GM really wants to take advantage of the potential of Zeta.
  3. The Challenger, like the original, exists somewhere between a "pony car" and a "muscle car". The semantics become easily confused, but it is most definitely a performance car, and as such is the proper place for an "enthusiast-only" manual transmission. The trouble with the all-too-common argument that only a small minority want a manual trans is that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Take a look at the numbers of late 4th gen f-bodies and 2004-2006 GTOs that were manual if you want to see what the target market really wants. The proper transmission choices are required for a car like this.
  4. Only in America, the rest of the world still knows how to drive manuals. My new car buying days will be over when/if manuals disappear.
  5. Very cool, but I'm sure it would be better if I fixed the sound on my machine. Still, it's great to see a Chevy smallblock rocking a car from side to side!
  6. Exactly.
  7. Stop and go sucks no matter what trans you have. But, in a car like Challenger, Camaro, Vette, GTO, Mustang, etc. an automatic is just a shame.
  8. Yuck. Manuals are so much more enjoyable, especially in a performance car. It's one of the things about American car buyers I just don't understand, this disinterest in (and inability to operate) manual transmissions.
  9. Please tell me you are joking.
  10. I have liked this car from the start as a concept. I like the production-spec car almost as much. But I would never buy a car like this as an automatic.
  11. Can't wait to see them!
  12. Happy belated, WMJ.
  13. No, not at all. If you re-read my post you will see that my objection isn't so much that Gore won, but that he won by doing nothing that has anything to do with creating peace. Arafat was scum, but he was at least involved in peace negotiations and signed several accords to that affect.
  14. Very sorry to hear this, my friend, take care.
  15. If done properly it does. I haul stone often for my projects and make damn sure I'm not spewing stone on the highway. A damaged/ill-fitting tailgate can be a source of this problem as well.
  16. Nice combo! Got pics to post?
  17. Which calls into question the motivation behind his current avatar.
  18. No, it was the left index finger. But have no fear, Tundras and their owners still get to know what I think of them. PCS: You are beginning to scare me.
  19. My original question still stands. The Nobel Peace Prize has been cheapened by this selection. Forget for a minute about the climate and Al Gore and think what this prize is meant to represent. This prize stemmed from the guilt and horror of a man who became rich by providing the world with a weapon of mass-destruction. He was disgusted by the results of his own success and sought to promote peace as an alternative. No amount of spin or extrapolation justifies awarding the peace prize to Al and company - no matter the (disputable) value of their "work" regarding the climate. This prize is meant for folks who manage to bring wars and genocides to an end, or broker agreements between enemies. To award the prize in this fashion is a travesty, and makes a mockery of Nobel's intent.
  20. Thanks guys. PCS: You want pics?!! It's nasty looking, I sure don't want pics. I'm dreading removing the bandage at this point.
  21. Can someone please explain WTF activism on the climate has to do with PEACE!
  22. They have to be tarped here too.
  23. And the buckled floor in the 4Runner scares me a bit.
  24. From those pics, the only one I would call "good" would be the Xterra. The Explorer looks the worst to me.
