  1. Well, I guess that the theme developing here is "restoration plus". By that I mean that the car will look close to original with subtle appearance mods/updates and some stealth performance under the skin. The color scheme, while not what I would have chosen new, works with the theme and I'm liking it so far. The wheels I'm far from sure about as I'd like to consider more options. Trim detail will evolve as I move forward, I'm sure. The interior color is the biggest debate I'm having with myself right now. I think it may come down to what color dashpad I end up finding. The choices are the original tan/saddle and all black.
  2. Tossing it all and doing something different is a constant temptation.
  3. More chops/sketches welcome! Different wheels,colors, whatever
  4. So how about some ideas to fix this? Anyone?
  5. Great Post!
  6. From the mountains to the sun Life has only just begun We wed this land and pledged our souls to meet its end Life has only just begun Here my people roam the earth In the kingdom of our birth Where the dust from all our horses hides the sun We are mighty on the earth On the earth You have come to move me Take me from my ancient land Land of my fathers I can't leave you now We will share it with you No man owns this earth we're on But now the wheels are rolling Here the howling winds of war It's my destiny to fight and die But is there no solution? Can we find no other way? Lord, let me stay Under the endless sky And the earth below Here I was born to live And I will never go Oh no But we cannot endure Like the earth and the mountains Life is not ours to keep For a new sun is rising Soon these days shall pass away For our freedom we must pay All our words and deeds are carried on the wind In the ground our bodies lay Here we'll stay
  7. I will only put an LS6 in a real SS car. Just a personal rule.
  8. A sad truth and a dirty little secret. I wish I had the answer, but when people can't see past the end of their own noses, what can be done?
  9. I'm saving THAT for the next one. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. And maybe the '59 or '60 style "El Camino" emblems.
  11. And I'll be needing about 3 of those little "Fuel Injection" emblems that went on the tailgates of '87 Silverados. :AH-HA_wink:
  12. It would fit, but I've already ordered small block front springs. I'm thinking a Ramjet 350 would do nicely.
  13. I've been watching that car, It has been listed twice and got no bids. I think it's too bad he took apart such a nice car. I'd love to get my hands on the body-lift and other stuff he has though!
  14. Wow! That Laguna looks like it burned. Thanks for the link though.
  15. I'm thinking that there might be another way. What if the existing bumpers were sucked in closer to the body?
  16. BP: the Laguna nose is mostly a bolt-on, but there are some issues with the fenders (no problem if you get the laguna fenders too).
  17. Love the updates NOS!
  18. That car got an early Laguna nose! That might work.
  19. I hearya, Pontiac! Just don't know if I'd want to go there on this car. :AH-HA_wink:
  20. Not at all! But I would toss the trim with a solid color car.
  21. blackout the grille center and the windsheild trim, do something with the headlights..... Now I'm feeling evil!
  22. Congrats on the new toy.
  23. Cool start, Northie! Looks better already.
