  1. Hard to tell from those pics, but that interior looks pretty good. Too bad it's in Florida.
  2. Help is always welcomed! The name of the game right now is evaluation, parts hunting, and plannning. I need to bid on some stuff on Ebay.
  3. Oh yeah, there's a ton of oil and trans fluid all over the engine compartment and underneath. I wont even be able to evaluate the drivetrain and front suspension until I get a power washer on the job!
  4. The four circular, chrome pieces on the quarters are not tonneau-related. Nor are they what I thought they were (the base for side rails), they are actually cargo tie-downs and I'm not sure if they are original or if I want them to stay. The side moldings are original, I believe, and I may just fill those holes instead of replacing them. Yes the other moldings are the rivet/clip type and some of them are pretty bad - I will use the good ones from this car and the parts car and chase down the others through ebay. The condition of the body itself makes the project worth doing well, I think.
  5. Actually, there are only two rally wheels . I will be using the wheels from the parts car (at least at first)
  6. Thanks guys, I'll do my best.
  7. I've seen this before and remember the story, so I'd bet a fair amount that Knightfan has too. Terrible looking thing!
  8. I know! I expected this car to be pretty good sheet metalwise, but not this good. Almost all of these are rust barges - my parts car has terminal rust. With all of the salt and dirt on the car you can't see how truly amazing it is . The floorpans are not undercoated and still have the original paint and the frame and bumper brackets as well as the radiator support still have the factory black finish in good condition under all the dirt! I got lucky - very lucky. Fly: I'm done with British cars. :AH-HA_wink:
  9. I wish it would stop being so cold so I can get started. I'd at least like to wash the 2000 miles of road salt off before it ruins my rust-free head start! It's even too cold for that right now.
  10. NO RUST! \ NOT ANYWHERE! Not even the floorpans! Bottoms of fenders are fine too!
  11. it arrives!
  12. I still hate the way the options are grouped into the Z71 package. I wouldn't want one because of it. Also, the flares are a miserable design failure which mars the good looks of these trucks.
  13. Welcome! We are glad to have you here.
  14. Tried to post a reply earlier today, complete with pics but the server ate it. Yes, seeing the car come-off the trailer is very cool. Just did it again, in fact. The '77 camino has arrived - pics soon. BTW: both of the above cars look like crap.
  15. I would love to see Chrysler under American ownership again, I just don't think the owner should be GM.

    Snow!

UGH! I'm so tired of plowing snow. I was in the truck from tuesday morning until 11:30 last night. I'm retiring from it next year, I've been doing it too long (every storm since 1985). I've driven in every snowstorm since '79. I want to sit by the fire and watch the snow fall or get a snowmobile and enjoy it!
  17. "I got them steadily depressin, low-down,mind-messin, working at the car wash blues"
  18. Whoa! Both of those are nasty. The '77 should arrive before lunch today.
  19. This is the news section, not Op-Ed. I take it you think Honda's word is gospel. I don't, especially when they are tooting their own horn in front of a government commitee.
  20. Mine has a seat. The main item of concern is the dash pad, followed by the door panels. You could get the swivel buckets in Caminos and Chevelles too, but I'm a purist and this one didn't come with them so it doesn't get them. I'd make an exception if I were building a "no rules" toy though.
  21. Right vintage. Could have the right color interior, but I'd bet that it's blue.
  22. You're kidding, right? Chezoom was a very cool and well-executed custom, this thing is an abortion done by a snake-oil salesman.

    HOW RUDE!

    Way to go!
  24. If this car (from that thread) has a sandalwood interior, it very well could help me out. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...st&p=137405
  25. Thanks Z. I've seen that thread - and Just Dashes looks like an option (an expensive one). But I'm hoping I can find a useable original. Hmm, shipping from Reno... That car looks way too clean to steal parts from. EDIT: I won't know what else I need until the car gets here, probably thursday.
