2007 (used) Hummer H3 SUV... yay or nay? (your opinion is being asked for)

Not soon enough if you ask me

The Caddy FWB makes only a couple of noices/rattles that get to me, most noticably the long piece of fake wood trim that goes across the dash. For a 14 year old car, it's pretty solid.

Anyone up for a C&G Meet & Tour in January...
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in The Lounge
Well if those several pictures have got you interested, then be ready to be amazed at seeing the entire place in person! I've been there twice, once after it had opened and in January 2007. I wanted to go after the AACA Fall Meet last October, but the son and my dad were tired and ready to go home. I'm due for a visit, especially since the Futurliner is there for a limited time (before going back to Michigan). Most of those tweetphotos were taken in the basement of the museum, where the buses, trucks, and some odds-and-ends cars are on display (you can only imagine the main floor!). The pic of the Camaros & Firebirds is in the exhibit room of the main floor, where the display changes every couple of months. Those F-bodies and the Futurliner won't be there after April Oldsmoboi - what could be happening in the month of February that would not allow the group one Saturday for a trip to the museum? -
Looking for Pontiac and GMC flags

Glad you got one, I'm sure I'll find a Pontiac flag on eBay soon (look how long it took me to find the GMC one!). I'm glad I'm a patient person -
Looking for Pontiac and GMC flags

Well, after months of searching and waiting, I finally found the GMC flag - of all places, on eBay - and won the auction this morning: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150405925359&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT] -
Vintage Promo 1/25 scale Pontiac Buick Dealership Sign

Parsippany, NJ huh! Well, that is pretty much north from where I live, but is doable. If you have any info or a link to the show's site, I'd be appreciative!! -
Welcome to your first forum! I think you'll like this place, I've been here since 2002 and can't ever seem to get away (not that I want to)!! I'm a big automotive enthusiast and prefer trucks, but I lack mechanical skills - that doesn't seem to bother anyone around here (you have a problem, I guarantee you someone here will respond toyour call for help). I too live in NJ - southern part/Burlington County, and there are a couple mpre posters here from NJ too (once balthazar sees your post I'm sure he'll chime in too - he's our resident vintage car guy). Happy posting!

Found this one on eBay, though it's part of mini-brochure stand and is one-sided: eBay link I wonder how much the reserve is, and how much it will sell for? -

That was a very pricey auction... the final winning bid was $242.48!! I wish I knew who the manufacturer was in order to do some more research on those signs. -

1969 is the answer you're looking for. How do I know this? Look below: I've been very intrigued by this eBay find, seeing as how this is the first time in literally 20 years since I encountered my first one of these (a Chevy one at that). I did an internet search and the information above is what was posted on a web site. Maybe I better ask the wife for my 2010 birthday money now -

I agree with you balthazar, I think a rescheduling is in order. Too many people backing out due to other obligations popping up last minute. Our goal for the new date should be at least 10 people, that way we can get the group discounted rate of $7.50/person (vs. $10/person). Also, if we get 15 people to commit, for an extra $20 we can have a tour guide take us through the museum (I'm thinking that we may see more of the museum <like off-limits areas> this way). The tour guide has to be arranged 3 weeks prior to the date though. If we go that route, I may ask Drew to set-up a Paypal account for the members to pay in advance so we secure the tour guide. Now the question... do we shoot for a Saturday date in February, when snow is still a possibility, or try for a Saturday date in March when snow, while still possible, may not be as threatening/likely? -
My bad with my wording - I was saying that unlike Ford, which didn't claim bankrupcy and didn't fall behind in product development (my statement makes it look like I said Ford fell behind when I meant that GM fell behind). Sorry for the missing word. I do believe that ford is the strongest of the Big 3 right now and as usual, GM is playing catch-up with them.

So some light snow is forecasted for Hershey Thursday & Friday, with Saturday being a mostly sunny, 38 degree day. My plans have been altered a bit, so if this is a "go", then I will only be able to stay until 2:00 or 2:30 PM. I need to know at this point if you are definitely a YES or a NO. A tally would be good by tomorrow afternoon (say 1:00 PM?), so I can call the museum and ask about a group discount. Lots of good things happening at the museum, plus some great collections are on display: Special Exhibits: - GM Futurliner - 1953 Cadillac LeMans - Camaro and Firebird Exhibit - Jewels of the JWR Museum Collection - 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS LS-6 - Stainless Steel Cars -Fast From The Past: The Competition Motorcycles of Yesteryear Plus all of the vehicles in the permanent collection link Please, post an update with either YES or NO. Thanks! -
Thanks for the link... I found this there (medium duty truck): I like!!

Sorry RJB, I just can't subscribe to your "doom & gloom" theory about GM. Sure, maybe they didn't have a great showing at the NAIAS this year, but unlike Ford which didn't claim bankrupcy and fell behind in product development, GM did. Look at the sales of the 2010 GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox, the CTS lineup, the LaCrosse, and the Camaro - all doing well for GM and bringing cash flow in. Sure Ford beat them to market with a better small car, but GM historically has always been behind Ford in new products (examples: '57 Ranchero/'59 El Camino; '64 Mustang/'67 Camaro-Firebird). I'm still excited to be a GM enthusiast and not quite ready to abandom them yet. I may not be able to afford most of the vehicles GM makes that I love, but they still inspire me more than any Ford or Chrysler product (I'm talking about me, not anyone else). And just because the NAIAS was weak for GM, we still have Chicago and NY for them to show up at with possibly more impressive vehicles (let's see what ford does different at those shows before we give them a trophy).

See attached picture. eBay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Promo-1-25-scale-Pontiac-Buick-Dealership-Sign_W0QQitemZ110480581330QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item19b927e2d2 Very cool and would be a nice addition to my curio display, but it's already priced way out of my range. Back in 1990 I attempted to buy a chevrolet dealership sign like this from ick Kranz promo's and he stated his were from the '70s or early '80s - he sold the last one before my check arrived (oh boy, the days of bying before eBay, Paypal, etc). This Buick-Pontiac sign is the first I've seen outside of the Chevy one 20 years ago. Nowto find a GMC one!!

I'm being slow today, why did FTV disappear? And when did GM take this away? That was one feature I've always enjoyed and noticed. That at least explains why my G6 & ex-AURA windows always fogged up. It would be nice of GM to bring this back.

*BUMP* I know with all the action taking place due to NAIAS, this event is far from anyone's attention right now. But I am off from work on Monday and would like to use that time to make some plans, assuming the weather report is good. So I'm asking for anyone who's been on the fence about attending, please let me know if you're a "Yes" (weather pending)" or a "Maybe". -
I like it, though it's definitely not "'96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham top-of-the-line"-ish enough for me to be called a "flagship" model of the brand. Maybe as a replacement for the outgoing DTS, but not as a DTS/STS combo. And Buick is already going after the Lexus ES with the LaCrosse, Caddy needs not apply for that position. I too was expecting to see a somewhat watered down 'Sixteen' here, but that's not what GM gave us. Hopefully the ATS doesn't disappoint.

The two issues - not major and can be addressed easily, but something quality control inspection shpuld have picked up on - include: 1. The filler panel between the bumper & headlights is raised on the right side (left side was repaired). This is due to the fact they removed the bumper. I have to bring it back so they can adjust the right side of the front bumper (also noticable is the fact that the right front fender & trim piece don't align with the bumper - how could I see it 5 secs after looking at the car & their quality inspector missed it?). 2. The left cornering lamp is not lighting up (maybe just a bulb issue?). The damage was done primarily to this area. They installed a new lamp assembly and don't check to see if the light works? I saw this after I got home, so I'll address this to the shop when I take it for the bumper adjustment. They repaired the fender and hood, and of course that looks nice (shiny new black paint!). The chrome fender trim though was not available, so they repaired that and you can see a couple of dimples in the chrome. I guess I can live with that, though that's not what it looked like before the accident. I have some pictures I took Friday when I got home, I'll have to download my camera if my home computer isn't acting up again (it was yesterday) and I'll post the shots here. Again, nothing too serious, but begs the question of why taut "quality service" when you obviously don't give it??
