  1. The CXS is now gone from the BUICK site . . . .
  2. CARS.com is always updated (and accurately) ahead of the BUICK website. Just as BUICK rolled out the LaX Super and axed the CXS model, looks like the same thing is happening with the Lucerne CXS. You can now build a Lucerne Super on CARS, but the CXS has disappeared. It also looks like they rebundled some of the option packages as well on Lucerne.
  3. Noticed that the Lucerne CXL is showing Carbon Black Metallic among color choices, but only in conjunction with a Spring Appearance package. It includes black chrome grill, chrome 17" wheels, and chrome decklid molding. I'm wondering if the wheel design is unique? Anyone heard any specifics on this? Also, Cars.com is still showing the LaX CXS trim level. They usually have their site updated before BUICK updates theirs . . .
  4. I increased the resolution on my monitor to 400% to see if you can make anything out. It looks to me that the dash is also covered with camoflouge, so there really is no detail to see. At first glance the grill looked similar to the 2005-07 LaX, but what appeared to be the curved top of the grill was the camoflouge cover. So all in all not much to see other than the curve of the window line/greenhouse and that there will actually be a redesigned LaX. Wasn't there talk of going back to the red/white/blue badging, or was that just for China?
  5. I was disappointed to see that the BUILD YOUR BUICK for the LaX and Lucerne was not updated to be like the Enclave's site.
  6. I wish they had gotten rid of the ugly CXL alloy wheels too. The CXS wheels are much better.
  7. Cocoa metallic is available on late 2007 Lucerne's (I saw one at my local dealer and had to double check that is was indeed a 2007 and not an early 2008). It will be available on the 2008 LaX as well. A Cocoa interior is available on the LaX CXS and Super also. The sales figures stated are misleading as the Enclave wasn't even in dealerships until end of April, beginning of May. Also, the RDV was available in brown in it's first year, but not after that. A little ahead of it's time I guess.
  8. CARS.com now has pricing for 2008 LaX, including the Super. MSRP is $31,310, Invoice $30,273. The only options are sunroof ($900) and CD Changer ($150). Cocoa interior available on CXS and Super. No more Tan/Ebony
  9. Parsons BUICK in Plainville CT has 10 Enclaves on their lot, many left over from the Travelers Open Golf tourny showing $1250 back on the windshield. All CXL's. I thought I would like the black interior best, but no, I actually like the grey or cashmere better. They also had a Gold Mist CXL with Cashmere interior, and I have to say that was the one I like best. The lower body trim is the dark brown and it looks really nice with the lighter upper color. Surprised myself as I don't usually go for that combo. I even like the base CXL wheels. Very nice in person, not as trendy as the chrome ones but appropriately upscale. The other colors were brown, dark blue, silver, blue gold, and white. Still have not seen either of the red's or the very dark grey.
  10. With all the hype and advertising for the AURA, the LaCROSSE still outsells it with NO advertising.
  11. Finally! The large BUICK only dealership in my area (central CT) finally got their first Enclave (Blue/Gold-Titanium CXL). Although I've seen the Enclave at the auto shows and in all the pics here, seeing it in person parked among it's cousins . . . WOW. Truly impressive. Great road presence. Once the word is out and BUICK starts advertising this, it should sell like hotcakes, easily selling beyond the aggregate RDV/Rainier/Terraza numbers. It was a CXL with the luxury package and 2nd row captains chairs. There was NO console in the 2nd row. Has anyone else noticed this? BUICK shows one in their 360 degree interior view. Was this a pre-production tease that never made it? I don't see it as an option on the website. Could it be a dealer installed accessory?
  12. Does anyone know what the interior trim codes equate to? For the LaX I think the 432 and 433 interior is the monochromatic cocoa interior they previewed on the Super, but what is 53B that is teamed with the nuetral and 83B that is teamed with 832 and 833 titanium? I always liked the ebony/nuetral interior on the CXS.
  13. Thanks for posting. These are awesome!
  14. I guess I'm the only one that's not impressed . . . . if BUICK brought it over in tact it would be panned as being too much like the Impala in the rear (if you think GM would retool it, you're kidding yourself) and the interior is over styled and not cohesive. Elements of the center stack are OK, but overall looks like a big grey blob. Maybe it's just a lousy photo, but I don't care for the way the doors blend with the dash. Various makes and models (GM and nonGM) have had the air vents in the doors and I never like that look; makes the door heavy and prone to rattles. Rear has a huge blind spot. Overly high rear seat makes the rear quarter windows useless. Big and BORING!! Lucerne and LaX may not be perfect, but this is no better.
  15. Last summer I drove both the Lucerne CXS and LaX CXS. Overall, I did prefer the LaX mostly because the size was more to my liking and the seating position is much higher (in relation to the dash) than in the lucerne. However, the Lucerne was really fun to drive . . . I was shocked. The magnetic ride control (or whatever it's called) is fantastic. If that is a part of the LaX Super (which was rumored here at one point), then I'm sold. The telescoping wheel should definitely be added, especially since it is offered on the DTS and they are built on the same line. To me the biggest thing that holds back both models is the 4speed transmission. I know there has been much discussion here, and disagreement, on that issue. I would only say that if you are coming from an older model with a 4speed trans, then no big deal really. But if, like me, you lease a new car every 2 - 3 years, then you may be used to something more. At the time I was looking, my almost 3 year old Accord had a 5 speed transmission. Driving both BUICK's simply felt like a gear was missing. The LaX especially felt like it was being held back by the transmission, which is perhaps why some folks have not been impressed by the 3.6 in the LaX. I'm sure that if I got one, within a week or so I'd be used to the 4speed again, but it does leave you feeling wanting during the test drive.
  16. I was pleasantly surprised by the base wheel design. BUICK in the past has had some REALLY ugly wheels. I'm hopeful that trend has ended. Anxious to check it out (and the LaX Super) at the NY Show in a few weeks.
  17. In my mind, to say the lower bumper is unpainted implies it is unfinished. The lower bumper was intentionally designed that way. The AUDI Q7 has the exact same design and I don't believe anyone would say it looks down market. Granted, the Q7 is at a different price point, so the execution may be different, but at the end of the day the Enclave's look in very much in keeping with it's peer groups.
  18. The CARS.com site has been updated with all the Enclave options and color combos. On the right side under new cars, select ANY BUICK model (Enclave is not in the drop down). Then select the link for change YEAR. Select 2008 and then you'll see the Enclave link. I wonder how some decisions are made. The Outlook is available in dark grey but not metallic white (8 colors in total), the Acadia has both dark grey and metallic white (9 colors), the Enclave is available in metallic white but not dark grey (8 colors) . . .
  19. I scanned through this thread and didn't see this point mentioned, but I thought originally the proposed G8 was to replace the Bonneville, not the Gran Prix. Based on the sales volume that I think was mentioned of 30-50K that would seem more fitting since the GP sells over 100K annually. Is the G6 supposed to pick up the rest of the volume? Is the 30-50K figure mentioned because that's all they have the capacity to build for the north american market? Or under the new P-B-GMC model does GM expect PONTIAC to have an overall lower volume like BUICK is expected to? Any thoughts?
  20. Just got the JAN 07 Road and Track and there is a new print add for Lucerne featuring 4 of the SEMA show cars. The add is titled THE NEW STREET ELITE. "Think of it as BUICK remixed." It's page 53 if you want to check it out on the newstand.
  21. I'm thinking that the Cocoa/Shale trim now used in the Lucerne is probably what's in the Enclave. In the concept Enclave, the upper trim in the rear compartment was the cocoa color. I like that better than the all shale color back there. Although I didn't care for the Centieme, there was something appealing about the simplicity of the interior and dash. I liked the steering wheel actually. But overall, not really much to complain about for the Enclave . . .
  22. Check out the BUICK site, it's been updated with this announcement and new videos as well. The specification sheet does say the CX model has cloth seats with 18" wheels (6 double spoke - whatever that means) and the CXL has 19" 15 spoke wheels. The vehicle pictured doesn't seem to have either of those . . . .
  23. The detailing on the Acadia I sat in at the Boston show was impressive, I'm hopeful that the Enclave is similar (or better). I wish we could see it in a color other than that brown/grey color. Will the CX have cloth seats? I also wish the wood and darker trim carried through to the 3rd seat side panels. The all beige panels back there look a little cheap and sort of "oh yah, there's a 3rd seat too". Is it just me, or does the production version have a slightly longer wheelbase than the concept?
  24. just saw and sat in the acadia at the boston show and was impressed with the details and overall execution. i'm looking forward to seeing the production enclave. my only reservation is that the acadia seemed really big to me and is the market for vehicles that size, car based or not, shrinking?
  25. Lucerne come in "Crimson Pearl". In person much brighter than depicted on the BUICK site. Most of the pre-production photos of the Lucerne that were distributed to all the cars mags, and I'm sure there's a link on here somewhere, show it in that color. Very sharp in person . . .
