  1. We already know that the 2.0T is capable of 260hp in old tune. There are turbo improvements coming to the Verano and Regal that will likely filter to any other GM turbocharged engine. The complaints about the Regal Turbo's refinement come from the fact that it is not the LNF (which is known for it's refinement and fuel economy) but a Opel tuned LHU. I'm not expecting much, if any, weight savings over the Regal, but the new Turbo should make the Malibu more competitive despite lacking a V6.
  2. Last day for an Ad-Free April!
  3. We also know that this segment lives and dies on comparisons to the Camry and Accord, which offer V6 engines. I'm just sayin'... Not lately..... everything is being compared to the Sonata now. Camry is considered to be out of date.
  4. Well, just to reiterate, If you're afraid of trying Aldi because they don't have any name brand stuff (it's all Aldi house brand) don't be. The only thing there we haven't liked was the yogurt (for Albert) when I accidentally bought the "light" stuff with nutrasweet in it instead of the regular flavor. Every time I leave there, I have a look at the receipt and say "we only spent THAT much for all of this?" Three things though: 1. Bring your own bags, they charge you for bags. 2. They only accept cash or debit, no credit cards or checks 3. Bring a quarter - to unlock the shopping cart costs a quarter, but you get your quarter back when you return it to it's spot. If you've ever been curious as to what a German grocery store is like, this is about as close as you get. Aldis are from europe and the stores are identical over there.
  5. Port Authority Service Cuts
  6. 2 years of habit changes and we live pretty lean. We've been shopping at Aldi more often as our main grocery chain here has REALLY jacked up the prices. We've been really happy with the food we get at Aldi even though it's all off brand. My favorite kind of snack cookie bar for my lunch is 1/3 !! the price at Aldi and it actually tastes better than the name brand version. The pre-marinated pork ($2.99) or turkey ($4.99) tenderloins taste great and feed Albert and I six meals worth. You can't buy everything there, but we stock up on what we can and then fill in the rest with Costco and a small local grocery chain.
  7. on the next version of the platform after it has lost a bit of weight, yes.
  8. Don't say Mercedes couldn't save Chrysler. Mercedes chose NOT to save Chrysler. They were in it for a quick buck and made a TON of mistakes.... the likes of which we could devote an entire thread to enumerating.
  9. I'm guessing if he is talking about having a receipt and getting money back, it was done out of pocket.
  10. We might be seeing the Caliber replacement in April
  11. How about this one http://pittsburgh.cr...2280777631.html It even has "lumber" seats
  12. I thought this was launched already? The 2.8T suits Saab's Character better than Cadillac's. It's still a bit of a guzzler.
  13. Happy B-day. Get pics up!
  14. Well in that regard, what happened to the 2-mode hybrid they were to share with GM? I guess that went away in the BK.
  15. Can you put up more pictures of it? I got this back from Hemmings via twitter:
  16. I think that's a good way to kill the loyalty Jeep has. Jeep must remain separate. Dodge needs to become what the Ford brand has become at Ford, that mean the trucks need to be folded back in. Chrysler does need to move up in the market, but that means no more volume vehicles like the PT Cruiser or base 200. The 200 needs to line up with the Regal in equipment and price and the rest of the lineup can go upwards from there. The Town and Country may have to go for the sake of the brand, move it to Dodge as the luxury Caravan and keep the name. To compensate Chrysler, bring back the Pacifica on a stretched Durango platform and scale back the luxury versions of the Durango a bit.
  17. this is going to ripple through the entire economy
  18. it can be done in non-paypal ways. PM for details.
  19. We already rank pretty well in SEO, so I'm not worried about that. I'm looking to sell advertising on the site and then turn around and use that money to drive more traffic. Before anyone says "adsense", that's out. Need more direct selling of advertisements. We have Double Click fully installed on the site, so we can do highly specific targeting, even down to the sub-county level if anyone knows of local advertisers that might be interested.
  20. Interested in taking on a charity case here on CheersandGears.com? I'm looking to start marketing the site to advertisers and marketing it to outside users as well.
  21. I think before you do this, you need to sit down and have a talk with yourself. Ask yourself, are you willing to put the wrench work into buying one of these older cars. Even one in excellent condition will require it. If you're not willing to put the wrench work into the car; are you willing and able to put the money into having someone else do the wrench work for you?
  22. This was sent to me from Scott Settlemire: Good afternoon, Camaro Comrades and Firebird Friends! The Camaro/Firebird community is one of the most generous and kind communities - our Clubs and Websites have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities both national and local. Whenever there's need, you've come thru with your generosity. Jason Debler and Chris Frezza auction off --with regularity-- a number of items with the proceeds going to charity. In fact, their last item raised over $500 for a local charity. I'm attaching some information about a very special "Green Light Camaro Green Machine" - with proceeds going to the American Red Cross. If you're a collector of all things Camaro - this is a great addition to your collection.................
