OK, now I'm getting nervous
It's a diesel, it's a coupe, it's an inline 5-cylinder and there are no B-pillars!! Perfect plow vehicle! Hell, I don't even like Benz all that much and I'm tempted.

Jeep Grand Cherokee questions...
Oh look! You found that old set of tires in your garage from your uncle's wrecked Jeep.... you couldn't figure out what to do with them and were going to throw them out, but they look to be in decent enough shape that she could use them. He only had 8,000 miles on them when he totaled the Jeep.

Chevy Spark EU Test Drive
It's meant to be Chevy's "SMART" car. It's not meant to be a roadtrip car. It's a city car.

You've got a reputation to maintain.
If I had my way, you'd have a set number of points to use either for positive rep or negative rep, it'd be up to you. Unfortunately, the software makes me set a quota on each.

The idea behind this is so that there is a level of self moderation here. The population of C&G is generally fair... I'm monitoring the logs and watching for abuse. The greatness of the system is that if you see a post that you feel has been repped unfairly, you can rep it the other direction. If a moderator unapproves a post, the post goes away and you don't ever get to see it.

Cadillac XTS concept hint to be at NAIAS
I'm guessing AWD standard

RWD & sand bags / snow tires
Tires are also a lot different in profile than they were back in the day. Tires are much taller and narrower. The lower, wider tires that are "required" today hurt snow performance relative to the tall narrow tires of 40 years ago.

RWD & sand bags / snow tires
I always put snow tires on all four corners of the CTS and there was a remarkable difference. You can go with Dunlop Wintersports and get all of the snow tire performance of the Blizzaks at 2/3s of the cost.

Cadillac XTS concept hint to be at NAIAS
Cadillac XTS concept hint to be at NAIAS Cadillac ZTS rendering by our own Andrew Currie December 7th, 2009 by Drew Dowdell Sometimes you find hints to the future right in front of your face. On the TellGM website (formerly Tell Fritz), Bryan Nesbitt, General Manager of Cadillac answers a question regarding the upcoming Cadillac XTS sedan. While Mr. Nesbitt won't confirm nor deny the platform the XTS will be riding on, he does say that the concept car will be shown at the upcoming North American International Auto Show and that it should reveal a very strong hint as to the design direction of the production vehicle. I did something totally crazy....
well don't run it too long with that bad harmonic balancer once you do get it started.

I did something totally crazy....
Not crazy at all! Even if you had to replace the entire engine, the rest of the car is in fantastic shape!

A less stuffy dress code is among GM's changes
anything that makes the employees, on average, more comfortable will help productivity. meaning... if your attire makes more employees uncomfortable, then it's not appropriate.

rep points don't expire. You'll build them up forever.

It's actually the Slashdot model that I wish we could offer here. SD is largely self moderated.

Chevy Spark EU Test Drive
It's not about CAFE. It's about oil... and the fact that not everyone will be able to afford a Volt.

yes, because we don't want people gaming the system.

I think it was just for the photo shoot.

Chevy Spark EU Test Drive
It would be killer if they could release this with a turbo diesel of about the same displacement.

The best Buick for $4000-6000
oh yeah... there are tons. but Stang was asking which one we thought would be the least maintenance needy Buick.... and I think a Regal LS would fit that bill.

Just isn't the rock the W-bodies can be. The H-body Lesabres are pretty decent, but have some interior trim issues (airbag covers curling, small electrical gremlins). The G-body LeSabres are nice and solid but can have wheel and suspension issues that sound a lot worse than they really are due to the smooth quiet ride. Often you can't just to a standard wheel balance on the G-bodies, you need to opt for the more expensive road force variance balance as well or you'll get wheel shudder. I've had direct experience with every G-body model except the Bonneville (stiffer suspension?) having this issue. Cheap tires will only make this situation frustratingly worse. I recommend the Regal LS over the Century because the 3800 is the most reliable of the pushrod V6 bunch. The Regal GS with the supercharger would be good too as long as the owner is willing to remember to change the S/C oil at it's scheduled time.

Jeep Grand Cherokee questions...
find out why the tires are shot. that rusting shock mount could be sending things out of alignment

Regal. The G-bodies, while generally reliable, have a couple of quirks that require a little more attention than on other cars. The Regal LS would be as close as you get to "Set it and forget it!" at Buick.
