1. Remind me that I should drive when I visit you in FL. Heck if for no other reason than I'll have a rental.
2. Does that mean the Camry 6-speed that is sometimes a 4-speed puts the Camry into the negative? The 4-speed debate is old. It doesn't remove any soul from the cars because GM's 4-speed is still smoother <and apparently better made than> Toyota's 6-speed and the known-for-going-bad 5-speed from Honda.
3. Impala has the SS version and Malibu has the funky Maxx version. Just enough soul to push it above zero.
4. Because each Cavalier sold had a $1500 healthcare albatross around it's neck. Since they were selling for around $13000 new, that didn't leave much room for profit. Each Deville on the otherhand still had that same $1500 albatross, but there was still room for profit.* *used just as an example.... dunno for sure the Deville is profitable.
5. Perhaps, but you also don't *need* to be as agressive when you have 417 ft/lbs of torque at 4300 rpm and a 6-speed auto. and please.... Edmunds not beating the snot out of a tester car?
6. That's not to say they're close. Nuclear is still waaaaaay above coal in BTU per pound of fuel. A combination of Nuclear, wind and solar <all 3 types>* would do well to reduce our dependence on burning things from the ground. *Photovoltaic, steam generation, Sterling engine.
7. because for you, they simply register in your brain as "the truth"
8. I drive my Avalanche like I stole it, almost never on the highway, and frequently carrying or towing heavy loads. 14.9mpg.... almost every time. It does go higher if I am going long distance on a highway. Heck, even with a loaded Uhaul trailer and a full truck bed, going over the mountains of West VA I did 12.9. Escalade has a 6-speed and a larger engine, it's a bit more than "tarted up"
9. This is great! I wonder if things like grass and yard clippings could be used. I'd gladly drop off my yard waste to a processing plant.
10. $3.55 as of now....

Cool looking... .but why must everything be called a "sport luxury" sedan. Whatever happened to arriving to your destination in the utmost comfort and luxury? That's what this concept really looks like it should be.... it's not a "sport luxury" sedan. edit: Additionally, there is nothing about this concept that says "I'm a Cadillac" to me. It doesn't even have the trademark grill.
14. I'm thinkin those side mirrors aren't going to hold up to U.S. regs....
15. gosh that looks cheap.... I do like the over all look though.... the way those verticle silver bars, hide, then reappear below the HVAC, making it look as if the HVAC is mounted on rails.
16. EPA fuel economy estimates are 19 city/23 highway but those figures are a bit optimistic. We averaged 11 mpg a citta and 17 a l'autostrada but we were admittedly heavy-footed. The turbo boost is just too much fun to drive conservatively. Please note: The RDX drinks premium 91 octane gasoline!!!!Put in perspective, the Vue Red-Line has 250hp and gets 19/25.... and yes I know it's a honda engine.
17. Proof that even a great SUV can still end up looking like a CRV De Lux
18. One guess who owns Bentley.
19. Clean coal is a half truth. They've found a way to burn coal cleanly, and as far as BTU per pound it is second only to nuclear out of the main stream fuels. Getting the coal out of the ground is another story. Coal mining itself is a very enviromentally dirty and destructive process.
20. That is an excellent measure of the health of the company. Good to see that the Cobalt is now turning a profit.
21. yes... a 323... not a 325 or a 330... a 323... which basically means older model. I'm refering to two specific people here in PGH. Friends of friends... tools who like to talk up their 8? or so year old BMWs.... yet still insist they have V6s. This has nothing to do with the 3-series v. CTS debate... it's about people who don't know their cars yet yap about them anyway. the CTS is still a 5-series at a 3-series price.... the size difference makes sure of that.... what's 12 inches between friends anyway?
22. All cars get the same mileage sitting and idling. 0 mpg.
23. I noticed it, but let it go. I hear $h! like that from the 323 drivin gay boys who insist *their* V6 is better than my CTS's V6. I'll agree that the BMW 6 is a bit smoother, but I have more gitty-up..... and at least I know what configuration my engine is in. Isn't the old GS I6 related to the Supra motor?
24. Just because it's there, doesn't mean we have to use it...... if we can use a fuel that: 1. produces less polution <through production methods> 2. is more CO2 neutral <the gross amount of CO2 introduced to the atmosphere minus the CO2 removed from the atmosphere by the plants> 3. is a locally produced .... Ford employees are gonna need jobs dontcha know 4. Can get the same mileage as gasoline if the engines are tuned for it as a primary fuel. 5. Costs less. Why wouldn't we use it? Me, I'm excited by the possibility of buying an E85 burning Avalanche Hybrid next year. Once I get it, I'll only fill up with E85 because I want to support the enviroment, U.S. jobs, save some cash, and not support Al Quiada. Before you rant at me for driving an Avalanche... it's my secondary vehicle that I use for business purposes. I own a bunch of apartment buildings and use the Avalanche to haul construction materials. I use the bus for trips in the city and have a CTS as a roadtrip car.
