  1. Don't envy us too much, we're about to get Christian sharia law, 20 million people are about to lose their health insurance, our already crumbling infrastructure is about to lose funding unless some corporation steps up and buys the naming rights... and instead of building wind farms and solar energy, we're going to crank up the old coal fired generation plants "because it's cheaper". I'll be getting married next week so that I get the legal part of it done before Fuhrer Trumpistan takes away that right. The wedding was originally scheduled for October 2017, but we can't take the chance that Trump does what he promised to do. You shouldn't feel too safe up in Trudeau land either... Trump wants to renegotiate NAFTA which means the potential loss of lots of manufacturing jobs up your way. Yay 'merica..... or something.
  2. The possible move to Germany has been in the cards for years. The disaster of last night moved the timetable up substantially. For immigration purposes, Germany recognizes foreign same sex marriages. Albert is getting his Italian citizenship, so we'll both be able to legally live and work in Germany.
  3. If I buy a car, and it's unlikely, I'd probably get an Alfa 159 wagon. But where I'll be living (that part is already arranged) I can get by on public transit quite easily.
  4. I plan on not being in this country anymore. Over the next few weeks, I will be interviewing various property management companies to take over my rental business so I can still have an income from them.
  5. I have already listed my prized Oldsmobile for sale.
  6. Oh I called out your "fact" first before I made the movie reference....
  7. The hateful rhetoric typical of a deplorable Trump supporter. You are the weakest link.
  8. That is one sect of Islam... it's like judging all of Christianity on the Westboro Baptist Church. The vast majority of muslims are peaceful... and there are about 1.6 billion of them in the world... if they wanted us dead, we would be by now. So... you fail. Go drink your kool-aid Shelby.
  9. You still haven't backed up your assertion against hillary.... that's why I continue to dismiss it.
  10. You made an assertion without evidence. Back it the fuck up. Trump is on record for saying he would reverse marriage rights. "I just don't feel good about it," Trump said. "I don't feel right about it. I'm against it, and I take a lot of heat because I come from New York. You know, for New York it's like, how can you be against gay marriage? But I'm opposed to gay marriage." And, last year Trump said in an interview on CNN that he supported ‘traditional marriage.’ Trump also suggested in at least one interview that he would consider appointing Supreme Court justices who would support reversing the ruling. That's called backing up your assertion.
  11. Assertions made without evidence can likewise be dismissed without evidence.
  12. You are categorically wrong.
  13. #MakeAmericaHateAgain The election of Trump has validated all of the bigotry and xenophobia of his voter base. Even if not all of them are "deplorables" and just wanted change, the ones who are deplorable now have their feelings validated. I fully expect a rise in hate crimes. I'm gay (but you know that since you're a friend on facebook). I was planning on getting married next year in a large ceremony with family and friends. Instead, I just finished the marriage license application and will likely be married by the end of next week with a couple friends at the courthouse so that I can make it legal before Herr Trumpter can revoke my rights.
  14. After last night, I have started the process of leaving the country. I believe it would be hard to run the site from Europe. If I can find a way to do so, then I will continue to do so.
  15. Let it be known that I am likely going to be listing C&G for sale unless I can come up with some arrangement with someone else to manage it while I retain ownership.
  16. I'm saying the IQS chart tells me nothing about the infotainment system. Fiat's IQS is pretty low too, but Uconnect is probably the best quality part of that car, which means something else is going on there. Without some context as to what is causing the low IQs scores, the chart isn't really useful for judging the quality of the infotainment system.
  17. I did say that Mercedes' system was bad, however, that has nothing to do with a generic Initial Quality Study.
  18. That was the reason for Ford's woes. That doesn't mean the same is true for Volvo and I'm not willing to make that assumption without evidence. My experiences with Sync3 have not been positive. My experiences with Volvo's system have been positive.
  19. That tells me literally nothing about how the NAVI system performs which is what we're discussing here.
  20. You see that little purple circle in front of the title? That means the post hasn't been published yet and only editors can see it. There aren't 71 comments on something that doesn't exist yet, but I will raise a ticket with the vendor.
  21. I have not yet tried the Continental's screen to assess it... but from appearance, I feel that it is probably appropriately sized for the interior. The size of the screen matters a lot less than the ease of use of the system. Saying that, and again I haven't tried the Continental's system yet, of the others listed in this thread, Volvo has far and away the best and most intuitive to use of all of the systems I've tried. It is the smoothest and probably the most attractive looking screens. The Benz is such a bear to use... I'm a tech guy and even then I can get confused as to what I'm supposed to do. Telsa's can be buggy.
  22. The Chryslers do dim automatically. It's still a lot of extra light in the cabin at night.
  23. Eh... screen size can become too large. The 8.1s in the Chryslers are probably the absolute largest I would go and even then they can be irritatingly bright at night.
