1. It may look cool but the blindspot could hide 2 Suburbans.

The blindspot on my Chevy cargo van is nothing better.

  2. Sure, so would I, but having a say doesn't mean ordering the CEO and board of the company to form an alliance with another company when he doesn't even really know what's going on inside GM.

His position is not strong enough to order anything, he is just urging the board to explore all options, including an alliance.

I think it's pretty clear that GM can make world-class cars without help from anyone else.

What if they can make world class cars for a few billion less, per year? Is that not worth exploring?

Personally, I think Kerkorian is just being greedy. If the alliance goes through, that means the stock price will probably see another big spike, which means Kerkorian makes millions upon millions more dollars. He doesn't care about GM's long term, he wants to get even richer in the short term, since he won't be around for that much longer.

This is your pride speaking, not business common sense. How is making a company more profitable not caring about it long term?

  3. the company I am currently working for makes its employees pay most or so it seems, for a family plan it will be over 100 per week  ...............so you know what my answer is

No thanks, I dont need it. Never had it, wont support the insurance industry, wont support the hospitols and doctors and drug companies..........so screw you, you filthy thievin pigs

Now , smart boys, tell me ? What would happen if everyone in America simply said screw you to the whole damn mess? Then we would see them come crawling for our dollars and then we would see respectable insurance rates, respectable Doctors wages, respectable hospitol rates, and drugs that arent more valuable than gold itself.

Everyone abuses "health care". Got a wittle bubu, run to the doctors, got a wittle belly ach.....run to the doctors, got a wittle snivel........run to the doctors

suck it up and you might find you are actually healthy and a less frail attitude will do wonders for your overall health.

You should at least have a high deductible policy so you don't end up with a $100K bill one day.

  4. I said "around town" didn't I?

Usually in the city, if I'm driving a lot downtown, I get about 18mpg. But I have found the glory of the East Busway here in Pitt that puts me in downtown in 30 mins while listening to my iPod and reading a book for the mere price of $60 a month.

Now, that means the remainder of my trips are leisure.... and for some reason, on this tank, I'm getting 24mpg and it's 3/4 of the way gone.

You better keep buying gas from the same gas station. :)

  5. O.C. maybe you shouldn't drive it like it's your 'Vette.

It sounds like the above poster does about the same as me. My last long distance run returned greater than 28mpg... and I wasn't gentle.

Currently around town, I'm doing about 24... don't know how I'm managing that, but still.

Ther si no way you'll get 24 MPG in city from the CTS.

  6. Well, it was down 15%. I'd say that's pretty bad for their most important product.

Car sales were OK, they were up 12% for Ford and 8% for the whole FoMoCo.

    188286

900k F150s is their target, which they will probably not going to hit this year. 75K a month would take them where they want to be. Now, they are down 15% this month but the last August "Employe pricing" was in full swing.

  7. I only care about that one gently used black CTS-V

I will eventually buy for a family car. :D

It better be gently used, if not you will be spending a lot of money on differentials.

  8. Actually.... One NYSE share of Toyota actually represents 2 actual shares of Toyota.

So, if Toyota's stock is at say $84 on the NYSE, it's ACTUAL value is $42 per share.

Of course, most in the media are too stupid to know that and so the story goes...

    171044

    What's your point?

  9. The Sprinter is a little ridiculous on that list.

I had a short conversation with a salesman today about the Sprinter.

Him: They are all 30K or more.

Me: That's a lot of money for a cargo van

Him: It's gonna last three times as long as your Chevy cargo van

Me: It's gonna last 45 years?
