Word Association
Casio fx991 The standard calculator of my University, which we had to have for all exams. How did we go from a Chinese street to calculators? I find the word association interesting, and usually I can follow it, but that was a little random for me.

Ahhh...
I agree about the colours - it's ironic, because fall is one of the most beautiful times to bike, yet it's tough because of the lack of sunlight. I wish they would change daylight savings time - instead of shifting ahead an hour in the summer only, I wish they would shift the whole day ahead 2 hours all year. Who cares if it's dark in the winter when you're getting ready for work? All I care is that there's sun when I get home....

Qianmen (Beijing street). How you see "Qi" and say "Ch" is still beyond me... it's "Chen-men" Edit: spelling.

What the heck are these things?
Interesting. I always thought that had something to do with latitude or longitude, but as this map shows, that doesn't make sense.

Ahhh...
Glad somebody likes fall. If I had my choice, it would constantly be August. The temperature is usually nice here, and the sun is up for long enough. It's really tough to get in a good mountain bike in the fall when the sun sets at 7. By the time I get home from work and get out on the trails I'm fighting with fading light. I feel like a putz joining the gym when it's still this warm out, but I think I'm going to have to, or I'm not going to exercise for awhile.

An Ongoing Problem...
Oh... and take a video!

Pictures!
I hear you. I probably would have picked conservative colours if I'd painted it myself, but seeing the gold/mustard living room and maroon/burgundy bedroom in person, you'd understand why I like them. Everyone who's seen the place has liked those colours. It's just the kitchen that tends to offend, and the Barney-the-Dinosaur / Eggplant purple front hallway, before I painted it Forest Green. Oh, I also forgot to mention above. The "wierd wall" was also purple, and I painted that dark brown. It makes it so it doesn't stick out quite as much, and it goes with the gold walls around it.

NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries
Yeaaaahh... 'cause anorexia is healthy. The only healthy way to lose weight is SLOWLY. ...but yes, I agree about portions. It also has something to do with how fast you eat. I've heard that it takes 15 minutes for your brain to register that your stomach is full. In that 15 minutes, if you kept eating, you overstuffed it. For me, I know how much I should eat and stop - then feel full later. I hate the bloated feeling of "eating until you're full", because you're really over-stuffing yourself.

NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries
You're right, and if the title here was "NYC mulls ban on partially hydrogenated oils in eateries", the reaction would probably be different...

Even if it is a rebadge - the styling is excellent. I especially like the wheels and rear end.

NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries
You want to know my theory on that one? MSG is an acronym. It sounds artificial, so it's easier for people to imagine it as unhealthy. Trans fats sound natural (and are, in very limited amounts).

NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries
I'm with Croc on this one. I'm all for reducing the amount of artificial crap these corporations stuff down our mostly-captive throats. Ever read the label on Dasani? There are INGREDIENTS - in the WATER!!! Leave it to Coke. Bastards. I recently switched to butter after having used margarine all my life. Even when I did buy margarine, I always used non-hydrogenated, after one of my friends informed me of what hydrogenation is.

Need help: Parts of brakes
Mountain bikes have disc brakes now too, and they're probably simpler to design... http://mountainbike.about.com/od/buyersgui..._or_rim_faq.htm

First 2007 CR-Vs Roll Off of the Assembly Line
So... Subaru tried the "propeller" grille for a corporate look, and we know how that went. Is Honda going to make this toothless grin their corporate look now?

You know you grew up in the 90s when...
All the stuff above - yep. The stuff below I don't get - maybe some American stuff in here? I've never heard of Oregon Trail day or Arbor Day.* You got excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school. * Two words... Trapper Keeper. * You know what a "Gak Attack" is and had a can of your own * Your parents made you wear acid washed jeans and flourescent oversized shirts * You remember the "blue jean pencils" they gave out on Arbor Day
