  1. In the past I'd agree about being better built but don't write off the Cobalt so quicky. Mine is tight and rattle free. Plau at 27 HZ I wonder if Honda can match that
  2. Okay a car based truck is a better idea then a small truck. In Austrailia GM has Utes. But your speaking that people might need the space to haul stuff around....occasionally. NOt worht it scafifice the fun of a car for the once or twice a year I could use a truck.
  3. Lets hope your right about the ION. The curent one is digusting! (The Redline coupe is not bad) The Aura and sky look great though.
  4. Cobalt--no question. Steering wheel and IP of the Civic is disgusting!!!! If Chevy did that everyone would be all over them. Only Honda can get away with that. Plus the Coblat will kill the Civic in a race and lookks way better. (hate the wing) I saw the estimated 0-60 of the Si in a magazine---7.3 seconds! If thats true I might be able to beat that in my 2.4L SS Cobalt!!! :P But I'll reserve judgement on that until some test numbers come out.
  5. Oh I have been around. And totally for the Solstice (and the coupe) and the Nomad. I just pointed out some very true drawbacks to AWD. Whats the postives? Okay good traction in poor weather. I have driven RWD Camaros in very nasty winter weather. No accidents. If its super bad and I could not get out----better to stay at home anyhow Good 60ft times for drag racing....yes but murder on your car. Learn how to launch a rwd or fwd car----takes some skill. It will be slower from a roll at any speed. More mass to over come and more driveline loss of hp. I just don't get how people take to the latest craze. Lamborghinis are all AWD now and it makes me sick. They are heavy. And I cannot tell you how many magazines road test one and the clutch is shot. Thats just my $0.02
  6. well the delta HHR is FWD for one. Don't think anyone would want a tiny truck. Tiny interior, tiny egine, tiny tow ratings. You get the idea.
  7. I think its a waste of resources as well. At least on a small car. I don't know why they hype over all wheel drive: costs more consumes more fuel costs more to fix Sure you can drop the clutch at 5K rpm and tak off like a sling shot but your drive line components will not last very long
  8. totally agree with ya. I wonder what the reason is? I am waiting to get an 06 Cobalt brochure--for my 06 Cobalt SS that I bought. GM Canadas website is the same story. Very messed up and precious little 06 info. I went to look at the 06 Sonatas and it was the same story! But how come no one can spell lose?? :P
  9. Take a picture! Brochures not being availbe is nothing new, thats common with many cars (depending on when the car comes out of course).....probably Oct
  10. NO 4 cly or 5 cyl as a base! A V6 is fine! Ford did sell alot of Fox body 4cly---but it was either that or the V8. I bet if there was a V6 it would have done better then the 4cly. 4cly is a embarassement plain and simple. I laugh at losers that own them. I had a Mustnag once---at least it was a V8
  11. Camaros and Firebirds sold more, even with the slow selling 4th gen, then Solstice/Sky and SSR ever will in a single year. 12st, 2nd and 3rd gens sold very well for GM and made them alot of money. GM has to figure out why they were popular do the same formula with the 5th.

damn that looks in great shape! Whats low mileage? You just need the aluminum rims and some white letter tires :P
  13. There is only one Solstice diecasr. Yat Ming makes it under the Road Legends series. I got a green one for my birthday. Looks great!
  14. I think a V6 is mandatory on the engine list. And then two V8s. An RS V8 is all I am looking for. But not 4.8L----5.3 please.
  15. As long as its good looking to me---and I can get a base level V8 (5.3L 320hp or so) with a 6 speed--I would likely buy.
  16. His comments about the 2.4L ecotec are way off base. I have one in Coblat SS---it is super smooth and sounds great when you get on it. The best 4 cly ever made by GM and easily as good as Toyota or Honda. Only this one has torque :P
  17. First of all----glad to see Cheers and Gears back! Best car forum! Heres my 06 2.4L SS coupe. The colour is granite blue and you can't get that on US SS Cobalts. My first new car too! No pricey options---just the way I would have ordered it. Keeps the payments lower! Used 1500 GM pionts and $1000 from Car Heaven (GM sponsored program to get old cars off the road) And of course the 5 speed. The 2.4L is a very impressive engine. Smooth with all right right sounds. Makes very good low end torque. Just got over 800kms on it and have been babying it. Just starting to open her up a bit now. The build qaulity and interior are great. And the the 5 speed is the BEST fwd manual trans I have ever driven. Perfect shifts and launches are childs play. Way to go GM! Hopefully i can keep the Firebird! Just got a new cam/intake--and she has a real mean idle now!
