  1. Out of warranty. I can't find my receipt and I doubt the Chevy dealer in Richmond would have any record of the repair.
  2. In 2009, I had the intake gasket replaced by GM. Can I get any of my money back by submitting a claim against the old GM? Is there a long drawn out process you have to go through? I hope I still have my receipt.
  3. Someone needs to take the drawing of the next Colorado and put paint and chrome on it.
  4. Cover all of your bases. Make sure that there is no segment that GM isn't meeting and beating the competition. Minivans, small Chevy sport cars, etc. Update the Impala ASAP. Make sure GM cars score very well on reliability studies. Update cars more often. Retro vehicles sell well...HHR and Camaro prove this. Consistency in names. Please don't change names every model. Bring back classic names to Chevy, Cadillac and Buick. Sell the Caprice police car as a civilian car.

  7. Go to a place where WYNN'S transmission flushes take place. Do a GOOGLE search of Wynn's. Wynn's helped my 88 Cutlass tranny last until I got rid of it. I bought the car at 55K and got rid of it at 165K. Wynn's is about 100.00 to 125.00.
  8. For some reason, the truck is losing coolant and yet the engine doesn't overheat. I haven't driven it more than 25 miles one way. What could the problem be? It does release water out the exhaust at times. I hear a squealing sound when it first starts up. Temp gage never goes above 1/4. When it is low on coolant it tends to make a trashing sound?? And you can hear a gurgling sound when you start it up. I know it could be several things" head gasket intake gasket freeze plug thermostat seals I can't see any visible leaks however.
  9. http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2009/05...april-2009.html *** The new Accord is selling like crazy. I know this is one month.
  10. Why won't GM list how many cars in each model were sold? They mention the Traverse selling 8200 (nice to see it doing well) but how many of the other models were sold? What happened to the charts they used to provide listing the name of the divison, models and numbers sold?

  13. 1994 Chevy Suburban with 600,000 miles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQCrxDSqblc...re=channel_page
  14. My 1998 Chevy Cheyenne pickup has 290,000 miles on it. Red. I bought it at 274K. Don't know if the motor is original.
  15. If Toyota made a sorry Corolla, the next model would still bear the same name. Getting rid of popular names like Lesabre, Century, Grand Prix, Deville, etc. blows my mind. The constant name changes of models confuses the customers. A good company keeps its customers and treats them right as well. Most consumers aren't savvy Cheers and Gears readers. They don't have the time nor desire to learn which model replaces another model. Can you imagine Honda getting rid of Accord or Civic? Or Toyota getting rid of Corolla or Camry? Or Nissan getting rid of Altima, Sentra or Maxima. Yet Buick got rid of Lesabre. Chevy got rid of Cavalier. Pontiac got rid of Grand Am and Prix. HOW STUPID!!

  17. I hate it when sales stats are in PDF format. How many Malibus and G8s were sold last month. I can't access pdf.
  18. Why does the media and DC politicians keeping harping on the need for GM to reduce brands? Isn't Pontiac-Buick-GMC one brand? Maybe reduce overlap in these brands. But please enough about too many brands. GM's problems are far deeper than the number of dealerships and brands.

  21. The 2 front cooling fans don't come on even after you have driven for 15 miles. When you turn on the AC, neither fan works. The AC won't work. Is this expensive to repair? Do you have to check on several things before you will be able to find out the reason for the fans not working? If you continue to drive with the fans not working, will it damage the engine? I would never recommend a 97-03 Malibu. A real headache.
  22. The 166K miles I got off of the 88 Cutlass was far less expensive than the 141K I got off of the 1985 Regency 98! Just thinking about the 98 causes me to lose sleep! That car was devil possessed. I miss the 88 model except that the door locked and I got rid of it.
  23. There is a similar post on the Saturn board. I am going to say that the 1985 Oldsmobile 98 was the model. I had one. I finally got 147 K miles but I had to spend money on a computer, transmission, steering, fuel pump and the door locks finally all locked up. This car was too small and poorly put together. By the 1991 model, the 98 was obscure. I had a 1988 Cutlass that was very dependable other than the poorly constructed dash and doors. I think the 88 was actually a better car than the 98 and seemed to hold up longer. I wonder how many 1985-1990 Oldsmobile 98s are still on the road.
  24. The current Impala won't compete with the next Ford Taurus. GM was slow about competing with the 1986 Taurus...1990 Lumina couldn't compete with the old Taurus. You wonder if GM had a cool Impala ready to hit the market next year that maybe they wouldn't be in DC begging for more money!!
  25. I recommend GM trucks. And the Buicks and Cadillacs. Some of the base Chevy's such as Aveo and Cobalts get poor marks as does Equinox. Impalas. Grand Prix, Lacrosse and Lucerne get good marks according to Consumer's reports. You have to look at the averages and not one bad experience in choosing a car. Nissans have very poor reliability also. Do a YAHOO search of "Ill never buy a Nissan again". Interesting.
