  1. Clearly Toyota needs to shutter some divisions, Scion needs to go, Lexus needs to go and they need to trim down the Toyota lineup to 4 models like it was a few decades ago when they were more prosperous. Celica, Corolla, Corona and Tacoma. What else do you need? Also Toyota needs to be re-re-named TOYOPET. Recipe for success right there... and ALL four models to be RWD.
  2. I agreee... this study interests me but clearly it is inconclusive. I think we need to see a variety of subject matter in sizes ranging from C to DD sizes, video documentation is a must!
  3. Fly: I must have missed that episode of Family Guy. (You should have put in a small pic of Peter Griffin to clue us in) Every Honda ever made feels like POS Budweiser can to me. The Sheetmetal on my old Datsun was super weak too but it was better reinforced than most Hondas form that era, they seem to be all about featherweight cars at Honda, that's a HUGE turnoff to me. Many modern cars are too soft.
  4. Another reason why "semi-manuals" suck... they always over-ride your imput. Drive a Cooper S with the 6-speed manual and you'll love it. Either get three pedals or just put it in drive, semi-autos suck.
  5. I think the new Malibu is weak like Steve Urkel. Dull, predictable & safe, just what the Cam-Cord crowd loves.
  6. Yes, I'm exploring ALL my options.
  7. Uh.... seems to be a pretty nice interior to my eyes... quite elegant. I'm not a mouse-fir & dash-pad panel feeler-upper like so many here. Most modern cars have cheap, plastic interiors, some have better fit & finish & layout than others, the Suzuki GV does not dissapoint. It's a GM product and as such shares a lot of GM convenicance, plus it really is THE best warranty in the USA. Look it up.
  8. PC-S: Why do you anticipate not posting as often? They have the internet in Germany, I'm sure of it!
  9. I wish we still had the solidarity & united patriotism that was so evident in the weeks just after Sept. 11th, 2001. That's another thing I love about classic American cars, they remind me of that era that the older generations talk about, when "MADE IN THE USA" meant something fantastic and our enemies were the communists who maybe did not agree with our politics but had enough decency to not blow up car bombs next to civilians and fly commercial planes into buildings full of civilians. I definatelly have a lot of nostalgia for the era before Sept. 11th. The horror of that day changed so much!
  10. Dude... too much!
  11. Well that's the thing... I enjoy cars not car SALES. I do very well with buying selling classic cars & beaters but I hate today's car business when it comes to dealerships... I can admit that I could be better at it but I simply do not care to constantly play mindgames and "control" customers. I'm not into sales, what I should be doing is starting my own business idea. (classic car shipping company) For now I'm going to try to get a job with good benefits, perhaps something blue collar in a union. I'm not afraid of hard work but I am sick of dealers, ALL dealers. I've worked at enough. Perhaps I do not have a high enough tollerance for B.S. & abuse.
  12. I'm disgusted by the people who brush it off like it's some long-forgoten pseudo-event... like a bad baseball game or a car accident. Sept. 11th is and will be the defining moment of our generation. It sucks but that's just the way it is. For better of for worse the world is changing. Mostly for the worse. Those who are TRUE freedom fighters not only mourn all those hundreds of lost American lives but also a true non-1984 style freedom. Sept. 11th 2001 is the biggest turning point in this country's history since WWII or possibly WWI.
  13. Let's see: Almost every single person who I've known with a Caravan from the 1980s to the 1990s has replaced their trans, in some cases they were on their FITH one.... I can give you plenty of cases of this, you know I stick up for Chrysler more often than not but I'm sorry just driving the used 2005 RAM that we have here at the Chevy/Cadillac store was enough for me to seriously question the quality of the newer products. The transfer case in the ram is an absolute POS. Back in 2003 when I was selling cars I sold THREE TrailBlazers to people who got sick and tired of thier crappy transfer case & transmission in thier 1st gen. Durangos. Time and time again.... I do not trust Chrysler's FWD-automatic transmissions. Chris & Izabella have had great luck with their PT Cruiser but they are one of a few exceptions to the rule it seems.
  14. Soooooo True! This is exactly why Toyotas & Hondas keep selling despite being the worst values in the marketplace!
  15. LOL You smarta$$! http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/stigmata
  16. LOL @ Reata ragtop. As nice as the Saturn Sky & Caddy XLR are I'd take that 1967/1968 Cadillac four door or 1969 Pace Car Camaro over any modern car... The white Typhoon was certainly a cool surprise. Oldsmoboi: For the record, I'd much rather go to a Jon Bon Jovi concert than own a W-body.
  17. PCS: You sure you're not a $3 bill... All joking aside I clean out my bank's $2 bill drawer every payday, I love paying with $2 bills. You'd be amazed how many people are like "I can't take this... is this even REAL money... let me talk to my manager" I hate conformity.
  18. Hahaha... yeah, I guess I'm an old geizer. As soon as those 'Cudas are roadworthy I'll trade cars for a day with DF.
  19. The car is a great value... $700 might be high but it's not out of step with any other new exciting model when it hits the showroom and demand is high while MSPR is $48+
  20. A few of the people within my company keep insisting that Buick & Pontiac will not see the mid teens (201X) and when I said "what about the Enclave, Solstice and G8" I was told: all those core products will go to chevy. Riiiiiiiiiiight!
  21. Screw the quality issues... my problem with Chrysler Minivans is that for every minivan they have sold over the years they sell three or four remanufactured transmissions to bolt up to where a blown up trans used to be. I swear Mopar sucks at transmmissions worse than anyone domestic. It just boggles my mind how someone cen replace three or four transmissions in their FWD Chrysler product only to buy ANOTHER one! WTF? I've owned a ton of GM cars, FWD & RWD, that have had 100K + and still had their original trans.
  22. Well I for one would LOVE to own a 1961 Plymouth! It's so out there... unique, weird & bizzare all at once. Are there other 1961 MY cars that are much better, esp. in terms of styling? Sure, but it's still a billion times cooler than some FWD, I4/V6 powered jelly-bean shaped sedan from the past two decades!
  23. Hey, tell Jess Happy Birthday. 21 huh? It's all downhill from there.... 22, 23, 24 etc. are not nearly as exciting as 18, 19, 20 & 21. I wish I was 21 again. Hard to beleive that I'll be 30 in 19 months. Scary stuff.
  24. Very cool stylistically. Reminds of the F117 & YF22
