  1. Fly: what;s your beef with OnStar?
  2. Keep your Suburban, I'll take a Yukon Denali & throw in a CTS 3.6DI/6-manual & we have a deal!
  3. Yes. 100% accurate. You know who we have to thank for this? 1. China 2. Our Disgustingly Crooked Politicians 3. Japan (Toy-Lex_scion & Hond-Acura esp.) 4. "Free" Trade 5. Did I mention those @$$holes in Washington?
  4. I'm currently enamored with a 140K mile, early '80s Mercedes Benz 300D. $1500 O.B.O. If Julie's Taurus was a Cat it would be on its 14th life.
  5. So seriously we talk a lot about Toyota Kool Aid or GM fans being rabbid or anything in between but here's a few interesting facts to think about: 1. OnStar. A feature that is often forgoten about or overlooked, and yet it can save your life! 2. Hydroforming Fantastic advancement in the modern production of motor vehicles. GM invented it, they were the first to have it and they're still the best at it. 3. HUD "Heads Up Display" Available on many high end cars, another GM innovation. 4. Something for everyone, at every price Show me a German, Japanese or Korean car (nevermind Ford or Dodge) and chances are about 75% that there's a better VALUE in a GM product. I think once Zeta arrives 90% might be realistic! 5. Heretige. Seriously, Toyota & Honda were twinkles in NIPPON's eye when GM was already kickin' a$$! -------- Anyone else? What makes GM a great choice for 2008 M.Y.?
  6. A very rare & gorgeous 1961 Cadillac 4-dr hardtop "flattop" (four window sedan)
  7. Ford Kuga? What the hellis that ebonics? How about the Chevy Kmaroh or Dodge Chah-ja?
  8. I hope it remains MANUAL only. The V-series cars should ALL have three pedals.
  9. 1947 Cadillac Ambulance used by the Fire Dept. in Arlington, VA.
  10. Yup... the whole car sales gig is a tough racket these days for this reason. It's also a big part of the reason why I don't want another car loan right now.
  11. I thought it was going to be StingRay. Maybe that means the Stingray name will go on a Kappa.
  12. You've got free time and access tom the internet (ebay & craigslist) You should part it out and get $3000 - $4000 out of it. Otherwise the best you'll do will be oh.... $2500 (if you're lucky) BTW: at 84K miles $5800 was WAY too much!
  13. FoG: I hear ya... that's my problem I want about 250+ cars just to "start" my car collection. You should totally join the ranks of '59 Buick owners, Buick-59.com is a great resource for any and all B-59 related things. Best forum ever for just one specific model year of one specific brand. CMG: That picture reminds me of the story about all 1969 Yenkos setting of geiger counters since they were stockpiled and awaited conversion to SYCs in a radioactrive field. My spots today: 1971 Pontiac Catalina 4dr post, silver & in great shape 1968 Chevrolet Nova Pro Street, white w/ rainbow racing stripes 1933 Ford 5-window semi-stock mild-rod 1980s (or late 70s) heavily customised Pro-Street Chevy/GMC pickup 1980-5 Cadillac Busltle Back with a carriage top same 67 Razorback & 69 Toronado from a few weeks ago on someone's front lawn 1972 Chevrolet Impala ragtop, white w/ black interior
  14. Thanks again guys... Sofia (it's with an f, Europen spelling ) is great, she's growing up so fast. My ex would not let her come out to the wedding and as of late has been driving me nuts. She's the one who wanted to have all those separations for the past two years and what not & then later, more recently she hooked up with her ex Nick after telling me for months that "nothing is going on" but now she's somehow not happy with all her decisions and acting like since she's not as happy as I am it's not fair, quite a lot of anger there. Here's a recent picture of Sofia.
  15. Yup the B-59 behaved as well as a 48 year old daily driver with a leaky water pump and NO exhaust can. Here she is in the under ground parking garage below Boston Common. It's a lot of fun manouvering a huge boat like the '59 Buick around parts of Boston that are much better suited to a VW Rabitt or Chevy Cobalt. Julie is a good sport about my old cars, she often times reminisces about the Sixty8 Camaro, not always fondly.
  16. Some more: the Banana Boat with the B-59 1994-6 Impala SS ...previously mentioned Dodge Power Wagon 1957 Chevrolet wagon... on a trailer in a back yard 1970 Buick GSX Hardtop in saturn yellow (at Autozone) 1946? Ford pickup, lawn ornament for a small body shop 1977? Chevrolet Nova 2-door 1967 Pontiac Firebird with Camaro nose & rear quaters, Barbie edition style. 197_? Opel GT rotting away in a FRONT yard 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
  17. Just a few from the past few days: (and a few leftover from August) - - - - 1968 Corvette Stingray 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS (daytona yellow/tuxedo black) 1951 Ford 2 door sedan the official demo of TWCC (1971 Cadillac SDV) with a white diamond 2007 Escalade I sold.
  18. The original Z/28 was the Honda S2000 of its day: VERY high reving in comparison with most of the cars of that era, and it still had a TON of torque unlike the balls-less S2000 Hon-dog.
  19. Here's a 1928 Buick I drooled over at a car show in July.

I'll trade him a 14" Camry hubcap for it.
  21. The Maxx was a cool concept for a plus sized hatchback/mini wagon.
  22. Yup... I'm thrilled in every way. Julie & I have a very interesting past, we met back in Fall of 2000 when I was going to Suffolk University (New England School of Art & Design) and ever since then I've been drawn to her like a magnet. The timing was never better than this past spring when we both found ourselves single & well here we are. It's true what they say: when you know you just know that you want to be with that one person. Arriving at the wedding just about 10 minutes early friends & relatives were asking me: "you nervous?" and you know I really was not. I had been nervous when I was flying down Rt.93 in my 48 year old Buick cause I kept thinkning a blow-out or any other mechanical issue, traffic or any delay would look as if I had second thoughts or panicked. I had no reservations and of all the gambles I've taken in life I feel very good about this one. Julie is awsome, she makes me happy and so long as I do the same for her we've got nothing but blue skies ahead. I'm also very thrilled that Sofia will not be an only child. We've told her that she will have a baby brother or sister and she's excited about it.
  23. 1930s Cadillac V-16s. Coachbuilt ones with the 452 cubic inch 45* OHC V16 motors. I particularly love two tone Dual Cowl Phaetons, but if I had to pick just ONE specific car it would be the "Tiger Hunt" 1931 Cadillac V16 boat tail speedster built by Pinninfarina.
  24. Thank You guys. Staceface: seems you're the only one who picked up on the hint. I've been meaning to call you. It was a standing ceremony and the way Boston (and mASSachusetts) has the whole parks division over-regulated we had to pay for permit to do the ceremony there even though there is no amplified music allowed, there is no food or drink allowed and it goes on and on... (no rice, not even bubbles are allowed) The point is we invited just a few of our very closest friends & family so as to not get a hard time from some park ranger. Please do not take offense, certainly we should get together sometime soon. You & Jessica are most certainly considered good friends of ours, it's nothing personal. Besides, maybe we can get together next time Julie & I are going out to dinner in your neck of the woods.
