  1. When you come to the USA at age eight and you see a car as amazing as a 1959 Coupe Deville those quad bullet tail lights forever become the standars by which coolness is judged. My tastes have evolved and my favorite Cadilacs are now 1961/2, 1967 & 1970 but some small part of me still thinks a '59 Biaritz is the tip of the iceberg for finned cars. The only problem I have wihtt he '59 Caddy lineup is that the Vista Roof cars do not work stylistically. The horizontal roof clashes wiht the vertical fins. and now for more 4-door hardtops
  2. Moltar: I love yellow on certain Camaros, Vetes or Mopars... a yellow Solstice perhaps... btu I totally know what you're saying. A yellow car wiht yellow rims, yellow mesh-grille, yellow antena and windshield wipers is just gross. Around my neck of the woods Mopar "Sublime" seems to be showing up on Civics, Subarus, Corollas & Escorts at an alarming rate.
  3. WMJ: I hear ya. Moltar: Thanks Buddy... I saw the Camaro but wanted to block it out of my memory. Now it's etched in ther permanently. A 1967 Camaro is a rare car compared to the typicel Mustang of the Era. Even a '70 Mustang is unique compared to the 3 million 65-68s they made.
  4. TRC: We're not really going to have to stare at that 1989 Camry are we? I mean I've never turned off the sigs because I enjoy some peoles like WMJ, Harley etc... but this is giving me a migrane. Those hubcaps make me want to vomit. I'm only being serious.
  5. I would have accepted Oldsmobile and REO.
  6. Another example of a super ugly Ford (IMHO) FoMoCo had a way of messing up even the nicest designs in the late 50s and early 60s. I am obsessed wiht hardtops but even I can not find much to like about this design. But here's an exception to the rule.... a 1960 Ford. This Galaxie is beautiful to my eyes. Remeber the "butternut" one in Goodfellas. The ass is obviously trying too hard to look like a toned down version of a 1959 Chevy... but its' still nice. Seriously... take a look.
  7. Not a big fan of the 1961 Fords one either but I thought I'd throw in at least one more of Henry's Kids.
  8. This man invented the power lawnmower... but there's a couple other accomplishments that he's credited with. Who is he and what are the other two?
  9. NO problem KF, I've only begun to scratch the surface.
  10. What was the first car to use the "H-pattern" gear shift? Cadillac Name a post-war American-built four-wheeled passenger car that had only one drive wheel. well the dymaxion was pre-war so I'm clueless Of the current major ("Big 3") American brands, which one can be directly traced back to a carriage builder? Daimler-Chrysler (Dodge Brothers) What American automobile company can trace its history back the farthest (total years in existence as a company, not necessarily building cars)? Studebaker.... they celebrated their 100th anniversary in like 1954 What American automobile company began by building aircraft engines? Packard? What company designed the earliest incarnation of the Jeep? Ford (if you mean the GP) What two (current) American automobile brands were named for real men who never saw a working automobile? Cadillac & Lincoln For a time in the late 1950s and early 1960s, an American car company was the official importer for Mercedes-Benz. Who was it? Packard-baker :AH-HA_wink: The late, great Larry Shinoda worked for a car company (no longer in existence) before he worked on the Corvette. What was the car company? guessing... Cord? After Ed Cole worked for GM (you know, the guy who designed the Chevrolet V8 engine), he went to work for another American company. He died during his employment with that company. What was the company? Ford
  11. I can not stop staring at these photos.... they're so damn HOT!
  12. Yeah.... voted Camaro all the way.
  13. Now they need to adopt this mentality about B-body replacememnts. I would prefer BOF but I'l settel foir Unibdy, three thisngs whoever MUST be a psrt of the formula. 1. RWD, 2. V8 availability if not standard, 3. FULL size room inside and out
  14. That's why they call it rice... the first rule of ricce is to not do anything mechanical but claim the car's putting out 40 more HP than stock because of a $h!ty cold air intake that has a 90* bend in the middle.
  15. Thanks Variance, I appreciate it buddy... BTW: I got Hungry-hungry Hippos for Sofias 2nd birthday last week.
  16. yeah... that was not a 15 mph accident.

    mute car

Subarus are cooler than most of the otehr cars you mentioned IMHO They have boxer engines and send most of thier power to the rear wheels, therefore I think they're noit bad. P.S. alsmo it's easy to find a 5-speed
  18. MOre eye candy for ya Moltar. Awsome Japanese Site wiht tons of AMERICAN hardtops and classic Detroit Steel http://www11.ocn.ne.jp/~iwami-js/katarogu/katarogupage.htm
  19. NO classic car, not even a Mustang deserves this fate. http://www.4arnolds.com/1970_ford_mustang.htm
  20. I've only ever seen one IS wagon and I heard some where that the dealers don;t evern sotck them... the wagons probably account for like 0.5 % of IS sales and those are all special orders. I'm so sick of the IS.... I want a GM Kappa sedan dam, nit! How about this fantastic INline-Six powered RWD wagon that came w/ IRS, manual trans and a light-weight chassis?
  21. If SAABs will not even be made in Sweden but in Germany and are going to end up just rebadged Astras and Vectras then just kill them now.... Jeezus it's not a very strong brand and the best it has going for it is the whole Viggen fighter Jet conncetion. If it's not a Sweedish SAAAB anymore just call it quits. Don't f@#k wiht Pontiac or Buick however or I'm giong ot get violent!
  22. First Gen Cougars had great interiors too.
  23. Okay here we go, some more 2 door hardtops: 1970 Monte Carlos on the assembly line Even Corvairs got in on the pillarless Hardtop Action.
