Wow! Congradulations man! When I found myself an expecting father at 24 it scared the $h! out of me. Money, responsibilty and a decent domiscile were all lacking but the moment I saw Sofia a peaceful calm set over me. I knew everything would be okay. Fatherhood has been the most fulfilling and fantastic experience of my life. I wouldn't take back Sofia for all the muscle cars in the world. As far as names how about "Max Power"? I got it off a hairdryer.

Communist countries in eastern europe outlawed convertibles back in the day. Too unsafe in a rollover. I think it's safe to say not one hardtop was ever manufactured in Russia EVER. Love the AMC door handles on the new GAZ.

and NO this has nothing to do with Mercurys. http://gastiresoil.blogsome.com/category/hunting/ Check out the rest of the site, there's some other really neat things on there. Thank XP for showing me this site.

I know it's Japanese but C'mon guys that is VERY cool. Ladder in the crankcase indeed. Jay Leno better hope I never win the Power Ball because I'll stuff a hugh I-beam chassis under this thing and make the worlds biggest, most powerful car ever. It will make his tank powered custom look like a ride on lawnmower.

ANY car no matter how solid will have showe wear & tear at 240K miles.... But I wil agree that Camrys are WICKED overrated. A frined's dad has a Camry with over 200,000 miles on it and lolves the car... even thoughnti's also falling appart and NO the engine has not been trouble free. He just payed like $1600 to the dealer for repairs just to make it pass emissions in Conn. And he's put THOUSANDS into the car in wear & tear items and repairs in those 200K miles. Not lke some retarded ad where they imply that their POS 180,000 mile Corolla is still going strong. If I overpayed by $2000 for a POS econobox and then sunk like $7000 dollars into it over the course of 200,000 miles I'd think the value for my money realy is not that great. $h! my '86 Fleetwood Brougham cost me about $350 in repairs over the course of a year and it had 185,000 miles when I got rid of it.

Te Mazda, Eclipse & 300ZX can/might be just as expensive to maintain as the 1994 BMW. I have nothing really bad to say abotu any of them but I'd say say I'm not impressed wiht either two of the Mazdas. The Miata is tacky and the MX6 was never "my Bag" althouhg the MX3 GS (1.8 liter V6) is a car I like. I'd say stick with the Nissans because all three are nice cars that will put a smile on your face. If you get any one of these cars you will not want to go back to FWD after. Trust me! :AH-HA_wink: Now if the Corrado had likw 120K instead of 165K I'd say go for it but those cars are precey to maintain, get some mechanical ability before you get something that complex... there's a lot of difficult repairs you'll run into with those cars and if you can't do your own maintenance you'll be coughing up money twice a month for some expensive component/ wear & tear item. Overall they're all decent deals even if some are very high milage.

Anyone here a fan of the 2nd gen Custom Cruiser?

I'm a fan of any old school RWD Olds Wagon! -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VARIANCE! Here's a nice GeeThirty-Five Coupe' And a 2006 GTO doing a huge burnout on those new Kumho Ecsta MX-C tires.

Yeah... good point all those products are pretty much lame ducks. The last Relay I saw was in that super chesy "I GOT DIBS" commercial. The Crossfire uses way toomany bizare styling elements and the proportions are HORIBLE, like a Shrunken Head AMC Marlin that wants top be one of those exotic looking 1930 wooden speed boats. BTW: Marcia's EX bought a slightly used 2005 Ranger after years of saying he'd never get rid of his "rare" 1994 Ford F150 2wd, reg-cab. sports-side. When I saw it for the first tie I was like did you even test drive a Colorado/Canyon? (if he has he'd obviously not be driving the POS Ranger) he said in response: The Colorado is too small.

Do you think this will fit under the hood of a 1959 Buick LeSabre or 1960 Ford Starliner? http://www.bath.ac.uk/~ccsshb/12cyl/

Not very actually. My family left communist Eastern Europe in 1987 so that I'd never have to look at Russian POS cars like this. It was 12 years behind in styling and 24 in refinement and quality. But beyond all that what makes these POS cars disgusting to me is what they stood for: oppresion, hypocracy and ignorance. If you lived in a country where you had to give some communist F***er a B.J. just to earn the "right" to get on the WAITING list to buy one of these inferior crapboxes you might not be a big fan either. I know the styling is actually interesting, the hood ornament is awsome and there's some intriguing bits to it but to me it still represents the Hammer & Sickle. My next door neighbor (V.I.P.) waited a few months for his 1985? Volga to arrive.... he would have waited like 2 years but he bought a rolling chassis and dropped in some engine he had laying around. Probably out of a M.B. diesel. What a POS those things were. Sad really. Looked like it was trying too hard to be a mix between a 1962 Chevrolet Impala & a mid 60s Falcon wiht awkward proportions.... but in the 80s. No joke. Still better than a Trabant though. Those 2-cylinder/two-cycle paper machee crapboxes were the rock-bottom of tragic mediocrity.

Smells like a marketing 'mop-up' after the engineering & testing was done. [post="81333"][/post] Toyota & Honda have a LOT of experience in that department. I can't view the article... it just gives me a "404 error" :(

Yes, he's a retard but he has some good points. The Ford/Mazda products listed are outdated & have pretty shitty design. Esp. the Ranger. Mean time the LAncer? well it's Mitsubishi after all!

Funny thing Reg... Here in Massachusetts, in Maine as far North as Agusta & IN ALL parts of New Hampshire Mercedes Benz, BMW, Infiniti & Lexus dealers sell healthy amounts of RWD cars all year long. What kind of world are we living in where: - in the 1950s people got around fine wiht RWD and POS bias ply tires - in the 1960s people got around fine wiht RWD and POS bias ply tires - in the 1970s people got around fine wiht RWD and crappy mediocre radials & yet now in 2006 with incredibly advanced tire technology, traction control, impecable plowing and sanding most of the country is convinced that RWD cars equal death & destruction in the snow. Yes, sometimes FWD helps you get going but what the else does it have to do wiht maintaining control of your car? not nearly as much as people believe.

The more research I do the more I'm realizing my '84 Datsun is really a mix of three cars: - 1979-83 Bluebird 910 - 1970 Datsun 240Z/ Nissan Fairlady - 1970s Skyline & Gloria Sedans I'll be postig an interestiong thread on the DNA of my Datsun soon. Look for a real wacky twist!

Good one... Razor is probably right but I'll guess an AMC motor in a Jeep truck, just to be different.
-
XP: I thought of you when I saw that... this is even cooler (imo) than the 1965? Bonneville Ambulance from the U.S. Navy that is rotting away in woods of Maine. NOS: I clicked I saw and was noit impressed for the first 2.5 sec. Then once I read about the Poncho-Buick-Turbo motor I perked riht up. I'l trade my '68 Camaro for that straight up!

anyone ever seen "The Andolusean Dog"? Very cutting edge in it's day.

Let's be realistic. The Camry & Avalon will sell no matter what the specs are. People who buy those cars don't know a pancake-4 from a V12. A rwd Camry would sell, a 3 wheeled Camry wiht 1-wheel drive would sell... a Camry wiht styling bordering on non-existant would sell... (and does!) The Avalon could only get more hideous if it came in Puke green with a buguindy vinyl interior, and even then it would sell. F*ck it, make the Camry RWD. Then ALL the media wil be convinced that FWD is obsolete and unrefined. 87% of the true enthusiasts I know already think so. I'm not trying to be a prick but behind my sarcasm was a real message: Screw the 6-speed. Waht GM really needs is a return to greatness... I don't see full-size FWD Cadillacs, FWD luxury Buicks & FWD Chevy Muscle-Sedans as a part of that equasion.
-
Very neat. Love it. Similar proportions to 23B but I'm pretty sure it's not a Lotus though.
-
Wow... cool story Razor. Goes to show you if you had had modern snow tires THEN you might not have felt the need to buy FWD cars. Tires are everything... those four contact patches equaling like 2 square feet, that and keeping the speed down. (not that I'm one to talk I've got lead in my right shoe too)

Well, reserve was not met at over $10K and yet somehow I'm thinking the car probably sold anyway since the seller seemed motivated. In a day when any HEMI Mopar from the mid 60s is going for six digits something this beautiful and unique is certainly worth $10,000. You know wht I'd ratehr have.

Balthazar should LOVE this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-195...bayphotohosting

KF: I loved Berattas as a kid, and now as an adult I have nothing against them but every day more and more my single minded philosophy is to try to never buy a FWD car again. Outside of a beater for like $150 I'm pretty sure the only FWD car I'd ever buy would be a RazorBack Eldorado or Mini Cooper. I joined a Datsun 910/Bluebird forum today and decided I might attempt ro own a 4 dr Hardtop Bluebird at some point in my life. Basically my Datsun wiht out the extra log nose and Six cylinder but a true pillarless hardtop. This is a perfect example of a car that would be worthless to me if it was not RWD... the IRS and RWD are 80% of their appeal.

Later on the 510 evolved inot several hardtops... (look for an interesting thread soon) Harley: Man how can you keep getting cooler and cooler? I just don't get it!?
