    Aston Martin Launches its First SUV

      ...Broad range of capability from sportscar dynamics to off-road versatility...

    Aston Martin has unveiled their DBX SUV in Beijing China.  This is the first SUV in the brand's 106-year history. It is being build at a new plant in Wales that is part of Aston Martin's second century rebirth plan. 

     The DBX uses a bonded aluminum construction method to help keep weight down. At 4,949 lbs., it's relatively light weight for a full-size V8 powered luxury SUV.  An adaptive triple chamber air springs allow the DBX to raise ride height by 45mm or lower by 50mm. This allows for versatility in terrain and handling, but also helps with getting into and out of the vehicle, or with vehicle loading.  The air ride system also allows for variable spring stiffness, combined with an electric anti-roll control system and adaptive dampers helps the DBX handle more like a sports car than an SUV.

    Powered by an new version of Aston Martin's 4-liter, twin-turbo V8, that is also found in the DB11 and Vantage, the 542 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft of torque V8 can propel the DBX from 0 to 62mph in 4.5 second and achieve a top speed of 181 mph. The engine feature cylinder deactivation to increase fuel economy. All-wheel drive is standard and the power gets to all 4 wheels through a 9-speed automatic. An active center differential plus electronic rear limited slip differential allows torque to be transferred front to rear and side to side on the rear axle. 

    The interior of the DBX, as expected, is a sumptuous place to spend your driving time. The cabin has been designed to accommodate the 99th percentile male and 5th percentile female provides class leading headroom and legroom. All of the seats are trimmed in full grain leather while the headliner and blind for the full panel sun room covered in Alcantara finish. Buyers can choose from wood, composite, and metal veneers to suit any taste. 

    A 10.25 inch screen sits flush in the center console while a 12.3 inch. Apple Car Play is standard as well as a 360-degree camera system and ambient lighting with 64 colors. 

    The starting MSRP for the DBX in the U.S. is $189,900 with deliveries expected to start in late spring 2020.

    Perfect body, perfect mind happens when this discipline is practiced.   Koreans have their own style of martial arts.  Taekwondo I believe it is. 

    One question?   

    Koreans,  @David only now have come to adopt "perfect bodies"?   Body building being the catalyst?  A western (Ancient Greek actually) thing and not from the influence of martial arts being an eastern thing?

    Asian rim seems to run 40 years behind the US in that regards as only the last decade has Japan and China also gotten into body building big time.

    Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan need to work on those chests. Way to flat man. :)

    Maybe flat, but can kick your ass upside down and sideways.

    Those pecs are : muscles super cut from their own body's weight.  No "bodybuilding" weightlifting, tearing up and healing, coming back stronger and bigger pecs, but from training and practicing martial arts. Push ups, pull ups, sit ups, running, hitting objects, hitting other humans and getting hit back and meditation.

    Also, big pecs and huge python biceps, aside from steriod use, is determined from genetics and asian men, for the most part,  are usually less huge in the pecs and biceps than say...Aryan men, such as yourself.   Aryan men are huge goliaths naturally. Add a slight touch of free weights to that and Aryan men become...monoliths.   LOL

    Besides, huge muscles negate flexibility and speed, and martial arts is all about the flexibility and speed.  Which is more important than being big.

    Yeah, my kids in high school were big into martial arts. Badass little chic, about 4-10 and 85 pounds was a badass little fighter. She and my 6-2 son used to really enjoy fighting each other.

      Chevrolet will give us an Ultium Bolt.  Which is not bad. I wish they would have changed up the styling.  Not jut a refresh but a brand new body to go along with the Ultium battery technology.   But I see how Chevrolet could keep the price down by just refreshing the body.   Id like to see if Canadians keep the Elbows Up regarding the automobile industry.  Its hard to boycott as GM, Ford and Chrysler do keep the factories open in Canada.   It will be interesting to see how Canadians are going to react to the KIA EV2 GT.  Of all the American product boycotting in Canada, GM and Ford are not really targeted.

      Sad that due to Idiot47 and the incompetent administration we currently have, we will loose out on the benefits of entry level EVs from Kia that offer awesome range, performance and interior space. Kia’s Smallest EV Could Become One Of Its Most Thrilling Performance Models The EV2 GT model looks real cool and could be a blast, sadly Canada and Mexico will get it before us due to the incompetent administration we currently have.

      I agree. And I understand what you wrote about no mandate needed.  EVs will turn that tipping point in due time. Shortly. And like you said, Chinese EVs will be the ones to do it.  I included that tidbit ONLY because most Americans STILL cant get off the oil addiction they have.  GM has mentioned that they are going along with the 2035 timeline.  But since Trump has alienated America from its allies, GM will try to delay 2035.  Like Dodge though, V8s and turbocharged lawn mower sized engines in CUVs will only get you so much.  The rest of the world is strumming along with the 2035-2040 timeline regardless what the Chinese automotive industry is doing.  I used 2035 as a visual as that is only 9 years away...    Dodge announcing the Durango only gets V8 offerings and is ditching the 6 cylinder offerings, and some Americans declare a win for the internal combustion engine...missing the real problems for the American automotive industry.   Like you said, but with my angle, 2035 is a short 9 years away to stress a point.  What you said about no mandate needed as EVs will tip the point probably before 2035.  But in America, your folk lack critical thinking skills and do not realize what you said, thinking that  a Hellcat powered 15 year old SUV is a saviour for the internal combustion engine and everything else is misinformation.

      There is no need for an EV mandate or regulation saying no ICE after 2035 or 2040 or whatever date.   What will happen is China will build a Rav4 like crossover that is more reliable than a Rav4, costs less to maintain, has a longer warranty, has more horsepower, smoother and quieter motor due to being EV and it will cost $10,000 less than a Rav4.   And at that point, no one will want a gas Rav4 and ICE dies for mass market cars.   Some sports cars and enthusiasts cars will have ICE engines, long haul trucks will probably be diesel.  There are use cases where gas or diesel make sense, but it might be 10-20% of the market.
