    A Fiesta ST Is Coming, But You'll Need To Wait Until 2018

      A new Fiesta ST is coming, but you'll need to exercise some patience

    When Ford introduced the next-generation Fiesta earlier this week, there was one model missing; the hot ST. This caused a number of people to wonder if there would be a new Fiesta ST. Good news, there will be Fiesta ST coming. But it will be awhile before we see it.

    Dutch publication AutoRAI spoke with Tyrone Johnson, development boss of Ford ST and RS models. Johnson revealed that the Fiesta ST would debut in late 2017, with production beginning a year later. Details about the next Fiesta ST are scarce, but Johnson did hint that the next ST would not see a major increase in power. Instead, the focus will be on improving the fun-factor. We wouldn't be surprised if a six-speed manual remains the only transmission choice, along with the ability to get the ST in three or five-door versions.

      Yeah they are making an EV Hyundai Santa Cruze.  The Santra Cruze starts at $29,500 and they are on pace to sell about 29,000 of them this year.  And that with a gas powertrain that buyers tend to prefer over EV.   This isn't a big volume segment and I imagine Ford is just going to cut into Maverick sales. What Ford should have done is said we are building a Rav4/Model Y competitor and it will be under $30k.  Those are the 2 best selling vehicles in the world, they should have gone right after them and taken their sales. It won't be that bad.  It won't bomb so hard, but also 60 years later people remember the Edsel.  25 years from now no one will remember the Ranchero, much like no one really remembers the Subaru Baja outside of a small cult following.

      Many other news stories say this is a true compact EV pickup truck that is to be named Ranchero. Very interesting indeed! Also good info, but these folks say it will be a 400V system only which is bummer.

      @oldshurst442 Intelligent people know how to help others, that is why after my tradeshow, I went to Fairmont Hot Springs and spend my hard earned money on Canada, supporting jobs, buying food and enjoying the mineral hotsprings. Fairmont Hot Springs Resort - Top Hotel Fairmont, BC Why go to a Phouqed up red state when you can go locally and enjoy the great outdoors and soak! Course love that my money gets me 30% or so more there too.
