https://www.motor1.com/news/244399/2019-suzuki-jimny-rendering/ Motor 1 has this story saying Suzuki is coping a page from Jeep with the new 2019 Suzuki Jimny. I have to say they might be right based on the renderings to go against the mule pictures. Here is Motor 1 rending they posted. Here is a You Tube Video of the 2019 Jimny road testing. https://www.motor1.com/news/183037/2018-suzuki-jimny-spy-video/

Suzuki delays U.S. launch of the Swift By RYAN BEENE, AUTOMOTIVE NEWS The redesigned Suzuki Swift will be at the Paris motor show in October. Suzuki has delayed the relaunch of its Swift small car in the United States until next year while it works on a global product strategy with Volkswagen AG and ponders the growing strength of the yen against the dollar. The rise of Japan's currency already has forced Suzuki to slash its overall U.S. marketing budget. The subcompact was pulled from the United States after the 2001 model year but was scheduled to return this autumn. Plans were put on hold after Volkswagen bought about 20 percent of Suzuki this year, said Steve You…

The task: too daunting for the little guy. They've filed for bankruptcy in the US and will stop selling cars, trucks and SUVs here. The rest of their business will stay: motorcycles, etc. "Real" Suzuki automobiles were not bad, some were even really good fun. GM's influence, with the Daewoo-sourced Verona, Forenza and Reno, pretty much destroyed their reputation in this country. Not saying it's the only reason, but it is a relevant one. So goodbye, little guy. Would've liked to have known the Swift and your new CUV you have coming... but not meant to be.

Suzuki & Volkswagen Currently In A Mexican Standoff William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com September 6, 2011 Back in 2009, Volkswagen took a 20% stake in Suzuki to create an alliance between. Volkswagen would get access to Suzuki's knowledge on small vehicles and Suzuki would be able to get Volkswagen's diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrain technologies. Since then, the only thing that has been going on between the two is fighting. Earlier in the year, the two companies said cultural differences were the reason why the two companies haven't made any headway and the alliance is still on. Now, it looks like the two companies are having …

Suzuki Announces Two Revals For New York William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGear.com March 25, 2011 Suzuki's has announced two global reveals for the New York Auto Show in April. One of the reveals will be an updated Suzuki Kizashi. Suzuki says the updates will take the “Kizashi to the next level.” Its possible the update will bring a turbocharged engine which would help one of the big problems with current car, not having a powerful engine. Suzuki will also premiere a second model, but no one knows what it could be. Our guess, either a production version of the Swift or a concept of the Grand Vitara. Source: Left Lane News

VIDEO: Suzuki Pits Kizashi Against Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and Volvo S40 in New Ads THURSDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2010 Even though Suzuki had high hopes for the new Kizashi, sales of the sedan model haven't exactly blown the socks out of anyone this year. In fact, in the U.S., Suzuki has only managed to deliver a mere 5,269 units of the four-door saloon through November. Do the math and that comes to under 500 cars a month. But the Japanese automaker isn't about to throw in the towel, not just yet. Marking one of its largest advertising campaigns in years, Suzuki has launched an ambition set of edgy ads pitting the Kizashi against similar sized models in the luxury segment…

SUZUKI PLANS AD BLITZ FOR KIZASHI, COMPARISONS TO LUXURY “RIVALS” By Andrew Ganz Although the Suzuki Kizashi has been almost universally praised by members of the media, it isn’t exactly a hot seller. Just over 5,000 Kizashis have found owners so far in 2010 and the brand’s overall sales are down 42 percent compared to the previous year. To attempt to kickstart things, Suzuki will launch a new ad campaign on Christmas Day that pits its inexpensive midsize sedan up against far pricier sports sedans like the Acura TSX, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C300. Called “Kizashi Kicks,” the campaign will illustrate how the Suzuki compares to more established offerings. It’s a message…

SUZUKI FORCED TO CLOSE CHINESE OFFICE AFTER SLOW SALES By Mark Kleis Although automakers like General Motors and Audi have recently made it seem easy to break into the emerging Chinese auto market, Suzuki was unable to tap into the market with similar levels of success and has now announced the closure of a local office. In March of this year Suzuki relocated its office after a 15-year stay in Beijing, to Shanghai in order to strengthen ties with joint venture partner, Changan Auto, according to Gasgoo. But after the partnership was rejected, Suzuki China has decided to close its newly relocated office. Another cause behind the closure is a lack of sales for the brand…

Suzuki Recalls 2007 - 2010 Suzuki SX4 For Loose Screws Suzuki has announced a recall for the SX4 sedan and hatchback from the 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 model years. According to a release from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vibration from driving the vehicles may cause the side-view mirrors to fall off. At issue are the three screws that hold each side-view mirror in place. The NHTSA says that Suzuki dealers will replace the screws on each mirror free of charge. The agency estimates that 69,587 vehicles are subject to the recall. Of course, we understand that in the grand scheme of things, a missing side-view mirror isn't as grave as faulty brakes…

Suzuki may fix 280,000 Swift, other models Automotive News Europe -- October 15, 2010 08:31 CET TOKYO (Reuters) -- Suzuki Motor Co. said it will recall a total of 90,617 units of its Swift and three other car models in Japan to fix a possible door mirror defect, with about 192,000 cars sold abroad also possibly subject to repairs. In a filing with Japan's transport ministry on Friday, the nation's fourth-biggest carmaker said that over time strong vibrations could cause screws to loosen, possibly causing mirrors to dislodge. The recall, which starts on Saturday, will also affect 19,426 vehicles sold in Japan that Suzuki supplies to Nissan Motor Co. The filing said th…

Suzuki Recalls Equator, Grand Vitara, SX4 For Fire Hazard From Garmin Satnav By Richard Read Reporter September 7th, 2010 A couple of weeks ago, we told you that Garmin had recalled over 1.3 million GPS units due to a problem with the devices' batteries. When mated to Garmin circuit boards, those cells have a tendency to overheat, causing a fire hazard. Now that recall has bled over to Suzuki, which is recalling three models that make use of Garmin's satnav devices. Suzuki's recall affects the Equator (from model years 2009 and 2010), the Grand Vitara (2010), and the SX4 (2008, 2009, 2010). The recall includes only those vehicles that came equipped with Garmin satnav…

Report: Suzuki's US Sales Nosediving into Oblivion THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 02, 2010 Remember yesterday when we said Suzuki got smacked by an average 68% sales drop compared to last August (and -52% from the beginning of the year) in the US? Well, we decided to take a deeper look at the company's sales figures and discovered some interesting facts. All in all, Suzuki sold a mere 1,878 cars and SUVs in August, down from 5,751 units the same month a year ago. The Japanese automaker says it has around 300 dealers in the U.S. If you do the math, that comes to a little over 6 vehicles sold per dealer in August... Here are some more details on the company's sales broken down mode…

Suzuki delays US Swift until at least 2011, getting advice from VW MONDAY, AUGUST 30, 2010 Those of you waiting for the new Suzuki Swift to get Stateside will have to wait a little bit longer. After the Kizashi didn't exactly make the splash that Suzuki had hoped for, and with Suzuki sales in America crumbling, it appears that the Japanese automaker and 20% stakeholder Volkswagen AG will sit down to form a new battle plan. Part of that plan includes putting the Swift's US arrival on hold until at least 2011 so that pricing and strategy could be evaluated. Some of the reasoning behind the delay has to do with the rising Japanese yen, which has also dented the company's …

Shut Holden, Ford and Toyota, says Suzuki Steve Colquhoun August 26, 2010 - 2:01PM Suzuki has called for local car manufacturers Ford, Holden and Toyota to close their factories. Japanese brand says local car makers are unviable and out of touch with consumers. Holden, Ford and Toyota's car manufacturing operations in Australia are unviable and should be shut down, Suzuki Australia says. Suzuki general manager Tony Devers, whose company imports a range of light and medium cars and compact SUVs from Japan, says it makes no sense for the federal government to continue to spend hundreds of millions of dollars propping up local manufacturing operations. "From the poi…

Report: Struggling Suzuki cuts 50 U.S. dealers by Sam Abuelsamid (RSS feed) on Aug 16th 2010 at 11:32AM Any hopes that Suzuki might have had a year ago that the Kizashi would revive its U.S. sales prospects were quickly dashed once the car went on sale in late 2009. The attractively style Kizashi has not made any noticeable dent in the hyper-competitive mid-size segment, however, and Suzuki's sales through July are down by 48 percent compared to its already terrible first half of 2009. After peaking at 101,884 units in 2007, Suzuki has only moved 13,501 vehicles through July of this year. As a result, Suzuki reportedly sent out buyout offers to 150 of the 354 U.S. dea…

SUZUKI PREPARING TO EXIT U.S. MARKET? By Mark Kleis Since Suzuki enjoyed its best-ever annual sales of 101,884 vehicles in 2007, the brand’s annual sales have plummeted, with 2010 on pace for just 23,145 vehicles – roughly a 75 percent decline in three years. During its peak year of 2007, Suzuki had 486 dealership franchises in the U.S., a number that has steadily declined since, down to 400 in 2009, and now down to about 300 dealers have Suzuki bought out about 50 stores – according to Automotive News. The buyouts have been taking place since offers first went out in February to roughly 150 dealers, of which about one-third accepted the offers. The buyout offers were…

Video: Road & Track working on 200 mph Suzuki Kizashi for Bonneville?! by Zach Bowman (RSS feed) on Aug 4th 2010 at 7:01PM Road & Track record-breaking Suzuki Kizashi – Click above to watch video after the jump You can't accuse the guys at Road & Track of lacking ambition. The magazine has announced plans to tackle the seemingly impossible by building a Suzuki Kizashi to do battle at Speed Week on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The crew will be shooting for not one, but two different land speed records. On the low end is the naturally-aspirated gas coupe record which, for some odd reason, sits at a lowly 103 mph. The plan is to unbolt the factory turbo and run …

Suzuki will give Kizashi flagship a sporty look Ryan Beene Automotive News -- August 2, 2010 - 12:01 am ET Suzuki's Kizashi sedan will get a face-lift this fall that includes a new front fascia and interior upgrade. Also, the suspension of the struggling brand's flagship sedan has been lowered 10 millimeters to allow for sportier driving. The changes apply to the GLS and SLS versions of the Kizashi. They will not be available on the SE base model, which will be unchanged from the 2010 model year. The Kizashi's top trim levels will be renamed Sport SLS and Sport GLS, spokesman Jeff Holland says. A hybrid powertrain and a V-6 engine using borrowed technology fr…
