That's right. I've moved.

Over the past few weeks, we moved from Lexington, Kentucky to a small town about thirty minutes away, Berea.

We basically moved here room by room and got every box and bit of furniture here in a week's time. The computer was the last thing to go (along with the living room furniture) and it gave me the chance to be here without going away for a long period of time. We just got everything in place on Friday and finshed mowing the lawn yesterday, so we're all set and I'm ready to shoot the $h! about it.

The house we moved to is located a mile from a junkyard, A&A Salvage. I know they've probably got over ten acres of cars in various stages of deterioration. (This should make the build on my truck easy.)

As for what Berea is like, it's a small town (with the ability to probably make BV's town of Brookeville look like New-f@#king-York). There's an artisian's center ("The Art Capitol" of the World is the town's slogan. . .and I think it's an embarassment) where you can buy a handmade rocking chair for fifteen-hundred bucks. (Yeah. . .) There's a Wal-Mart and that's it.

I've also found a place that could give me a job here, Save-a-Lot, a grocery store whose main customers probably have a book full 'o WIC stamps and probably get paid the same as I probably will (hopefully just a very small notch above minimum wage), maybe even worse. (SAL is a statewide chain.)

Let's see. . .there's also a Chevy and Ford dealership here. The Chevy dealer (Briton's) has a pretty sweet Solstice (and marked up above Blue Book value, too).

Well, that's it. I'll take some photos of my beat-up old truck in this $h!splat town soon when I get a new camera.

The closest town (4 miles) from me growing up had like 1800 people, so don't feel bad. It'll be cool to see pics when you can.

Me too: closest town growning up had about 1200. I prefer it, actually.

Shoot me a PM if you see stuff older than '65 in that junkyard, esp if it's '40s or '50s or unusual.

Gotcha, Balt. 8)

*chuckles*

It IS a small world.

My best friend's family used to live in Berea many years ago (mid to late 1970s or so, iirc). Also, the Judds (Naomi, Wynonna & Ashley) used to live in that general area.
