Okay I didn't realize that the Opel Corsa Utility is just the Chevolet Montana as sold in other markets.

does this vehicle have anything at all in common with the regular Corsa?

Oh look it's the bastard child of an Astra and VW Rabbit diesel P/U. :spin:

It's exported from Brasil in completely knocked down (CKD) form to South Africa for local assembly. The Brazilian version of the Corsa has a distinctive front end compared to other Opel Corsa C models sold in other markets. More info found on wikipedia.org:

Let's hope GM doesn't make the mistake of importing this here instead of the Holden Ute...

You never know. sub-compact car based pick-ups are an untapped segment in this country. If gas prices ever shoot up to record levels, GM could import these babies and take the market if they wanted. Of course, they would have to be significantly updated.

For some reason I actually like this vehicle. That is, it could be fun with a Turbo

Ecotec and AWD.

That being said, I would still much prefer the Holden Crewman or UTE

A vehicle like the Montana/Corsa Utility would do very well stateside. With midsize trucks continuing to grow large, the Ranger is the only true compact pickup in the US today.

Imagine, if you will, a US-market Chevy Montana ranging from $8995-16995, the former having a washable vinyl interior and no options and the latter 'loaded' with a turbocharged DI 2.0 Ecotec shooting out 260hp through a Getrag six-speed.

But isn't this FWD?...

The Ridgeline is FWD and people rip into it for that.
