Mmmm still MORE delicious hypocrisy

There's a misstatement in the story.

He wasn't leading a charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he was leading the charge on weather or not President Clinton had committed perjury and obstructed justice over the Monica Lewinsky affair. CLinton wasn't in trouble because of the affair, it was the other stuff he did that got him in trouble. Same with Libby.

Newt never had to testify before a judge on if he had an affair...and therefor never had the opportunity to lie about it under oath. Tales of Newt's affairs are a numerous as Bill's.

So this makes him just as bad a Clinton? Not having the opportunity to lie about something doesn't make you a liar.

Actually, I was saying that this means that Newt isn't being a hypocrite.....in just this one case.

You know, I've never understood how the special prosecutor investigating Whitewater ever ended up asking any questions about Clinton's affair in the first place. That was quite a leap. I know there will be those that disagree, but the bottom line in Clinton's mess was nothing more than a personal issue that shouldn't have been anybody's business except him and his wife. The Scooter Libby issue on the other hand, may lead back to why we went to war in Iraq in the first place which is orders of magnitude more serious than a bj.
