MEXICO CITY -- General Motors on Thursday, Jan. 24, said it has opened a $50 million hot weather test track in Cupuan del Rio in western Mexico. The town has an average air temperature throughout the year of 90 degrees.

The track is 3.5 miles long and is on 4,447 acres between the coastal resort of Zihuatanejo, in the state of Guerrero, and the Michoacan state capital of Morelia.

GM, which employs 134 at the track, said it started looking for a location in 2000. Fifty potential sites were considered before Cupuan was selected.

EDIT: CD, if you need me to translate, my Spanish is muy bueno. :smilewide:
