LEAK!!!!

the nut i circled is right by the starter for orientation, also shown is the oil pan and trans pan

i jacked up the car, from the front, and coolant streamed out, mostly in the area the red "box" is for a second or 2 and then almost stopped.

so it's either coming from the back end of the engine, ?freeze plugs?, or from the left (rear facing) side of the engine, ?head gasket?...?

any ideas?

Well, since I have a 3.1 also....

I'm guessing you are well over 100k...

I bet is one of the hoses....judging by where the leak is-closer to the rad...

The hoses don't seem to hold up...

I've seen it on a few 3.1's..including mine. If the oil is good-and she's still running well, that could very well be it.....

well, my dad and I tackled this problem... put new gaskets in the thing. now it seems to run rich, idle poorly and water will leak out of the muffler, not the pipe, the muffler....unless it's the pipe that goes into the muffler ( from upstream ).

and... it seems to be running rich...
