2011 Cruze or Volt

Featured Replies

I say buy a Cruze for 20,000. Spend the 20,000 on gasoline! :)

A Volt costs 40,000! I could buy a lot of gasoline for 20K extra. That is why I could never buy a Volt. Tue much munny!!

The Volt is cool and innovative. But 40 K would buy a nicer vehicle like a CTS or Enclave.

1. Pricing hasn't been released for either.

2. You fail to account for the substantial tax credits on the Volt.

3. Sometimes people don't buy things just to save money.

If I were cross shopping against the Volt (since I don't know the options that will be available), the Cruze wouldn't even be on my list. You're right that the CTS and Enclave would be the competition.... but that comes from someone who can actually afford any of the above.

You can argue the same thing between a Corolla and a Prius. But at the end of the day, the Prius buyers are purchasing the vehicle because they want to be Smug. Same will likely go for Volt buyers. :P
