Nice ride, dude! I'm currently trying to buy a 1979 Delta 88 Royale two-door ex fire chief's car off of my city, but am not having much luck. Red on red with a white padded quarter roof, still has the faded fire department lettering on the door and everything! This one's got a 403, though. *sigh* Maybe some day. At least I still have my '77 Cutlass Supreme four door!

So anyways City Hall just called me back and the car's not for sale, apparently. I guess they just want it to continue sitting on the bottom floor of the city parking garage in the same spot since AT LEAST September of 2003 when I first came to know of it, and probably longer than that. The jumper cables on the back seat are a testament to how much the car gets used; that and the 2004 inspection sticker on it. There's also a four door Caprice sitting next to it that's around the same year that also belongs to the fire department, and has also not moved in years. Ah well, at least I tried.

well that sucks man...hopefully you'll find one some day...my car is just sitting right now too....my tailights aren't working, I have no turn/back up/brake or running lights....but the strange thing is, sometimes they come on but the minute I turn on my headlights they go out and start spazing out, my left turn signal will be my right, and vice versa...so I dunno....and these New York winter have taken a toll on the body...I need 4 new doors, rockers and quarters....beware of Royale models with the lower chrome trim on the doors and quarters...they tend to rust out behind the chrome as is the case with my car.

Cool!

I say DO IT! Love the idea of a full size 442. :D Those cars have such prominant headlights/turn signal/perking lamp clusters. Very dominating presance, sep. in the late 70s when most little imports looked like caricatures of cars.

XP and me drove around the other night in my Datsun, he video-taped me swinging a few smokey donuts and I intentionaly came close to running him over after he said my little Datsun was a POS. It was Hi-la-rouus on the tape... one second I'm whipping the tail this way and that... the poor inline 6 is screaming for mercy and then the car goes into a counter-lock right towards the camera, after that it's just a tape of XP runnig for his life while laughing.

Then before I headed home we drove to the L-town parking garage and checked out that Delta & Impala. I'd love to have either one, or even the 1992? Ford CV police car that's collecting dust in the same garage. Me and him were admiring the HUGE dual gumdrops on top of the Impala, I'd love to bolt those up on my Datsun.
