Back at it a few years later!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm not really a new member, but it has been a few years since I've been active on this forum. Thought I would use my first post back to reintroduce myself to the group. My name is Jason and I'm from the western suburbs of Chicago. My current vehicle is a Carbon Black Metallic 2007 GMC Acadia SLE AWD that I purchased new in March 2007 and currently has only 32,500 miles on it. I bolted up some Bazo Forged 20" wheels and tires and an aftermarket grill set to make it stand out from the crowd a bit.

My wife also is a GM owner, purchasing a Quicksilver 2009 Traverse LT a little over 2 years ago.

Since leaving this group, I've spent alot of time initially over at the Acadia Forums. I've kinda fallen off the wagon over there as well due to work and family balancing.

But I like keeping up on the happenings at GM as we receive employee pricing through my wife's family and will very likely continue purchasing from one of the core brands. A Corvette is my main objective down the road, but currently the LaCrosse seems to be the next likely purchase...albeit a few years off still. I also keep up to date on all new car updates through Autoblog.com.

So hello again and thanks for welcoming me back into the fold.

Welcome! yes, pictures please.

Here are some pictures of my Acadia. I honestly have absolutely zero pictures of the wife's Traverse...never really thought about it before you all asked.

I've added a 5-piece grill overlay set, 20" wheels, and tinted the reverse lights to blend with the body more. Not as apparent in the pictures, is the addition of a very fine chrome molding along the bottom of the doors where it meets the lower plastic cladding. I also have a Cherry Bomb muffler in place of the main big can, while leaving the rear two restrictors in place so it looks completely stock still. Nice moderate deeper growl at intial start up and idle. I've never heard it from outside the vehicle as it is driving, but from inside it kind of reminds me of an Infiniti. I had the opportunity to hear it at the shop without those rear restrictors in place, and it just bellows a low mean growl...too much for a family vehicle used for road trips, but it sure was awesome!
