Hyundai Motor America Reports Best Ever June And Mid-Year Sales

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of its best month ever, Hyundai Motor America posted its best June ever and the best opening six month period in its 28-year history. Sales of 67,407 were up four percent versus the same period a year ago and up one percent over last year's record performance for the first six months of the year.

 

"As we settle into the summer selling season, we are well-positioned with our full model line up, including the all-new 2015 Genesis sedan and Sonata, both of which experienced gains for the month, up nine percent and 30 percent, respectively," said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales, Hyundai Motor America.

 

The sub-compact Accent, one of three Hyundais recently ranked highest in the 2014 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, saw sales gains of nine percent for the month and 16 percent for the year.  Other highlights include Equus, up 28 percent for the month and up 16 percent for the first six months of the year and Santa Fe, up 17 percent for the month and 26 percent for first the six months of 2014.

 

Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were 7,324, a June record, up eight percent over June 2013 and up 23 percent for the first six months.

Glad to see So not a gain against Camry. Sonota is a much better car.
