Site slow today

Recommended Posts

I've found the site very slow to navigate today, with timeouts when clicking on topic links, on the 'Unread Content' link, etc.   Some pages load quickly, some very slowly or are timing out.

We're having an issue with the upstream network provider for the server.  I just posted an announcement about it.  I will post more information as I get it.

Yeah! between the Wanna Cry virus and the DOS attacks on the Internet over the last week, everywhere has been hit hard.

Thank you Drew for all you do! :metal:

Indeed!  I just got a note from my doctor's office (I have an appointment tomorrow) that the global cyber attack has hit them and they are unable to pull up patient records.

World is less stable than it looks...good article from a main stream news source...I expect things like cyber hacks to increase.

Loved the story right under that titled "I would be scared too if I was Trump!" That had me so cracking up and wondering why the US has not started a recall vote on Potus.

Back on subject of the slowness of this site, is to see how it has affected big companies:

This final story just cracks me up, how Wanna Cry virus demands 300 Bitcoins to restore access to your computer and then boom. The company that hosted their email account shut them down so they could not collect and left 10's of thousands with locked computers.

I really have to wonder about those that open email attached files from unknown sources. :duh:

The last two years ahve seen the collective human IQ drop sharply...expect further speed bumps.

Thankfully, I am happy enough to sit back and enjoy watching others suffer for their stupidity and not fall into the trap myself...
