  1. '21 to '20 is probably largely legit, but '21 to '19 wouldn't be. At some point we'll be past the industry interruptions and back to 'normal'. I just read that GM is in a positive chip position and now Ford is seeing downward pressures.

  2. I also have always declined a road hazard uncharge. I've had I think 3 punctures on my 2500HD over 150K miles, (plus I think 1 on my wife's car in the same time) but the tire was never scrapped, but plugged (which I do myself). - - - - - This pro race driver agrees that it's very likely they'll be too expensive for mainstream use. As currently proposed, the airless tire would be sold pre-mounted on a wheel, so if you like your OE rims, you're not going with an airless tire. What this means is 1000s of bolt patterns & offsets - all increasing Michelin's development costs by a HUGE margin. He also brings up another significant criteria- these are likely to increase unsprung weight- the enemy of good handling.

  4. E-Tense. The styling is intense enough to certainly merit the name. Looks good enough for me to get excited for. The rest of the performance stuff Ill just ignore for now.

  5. Between chip shortages, pandemic effects and tundra being a new generation- sales numbers are meaningless right now... basically industry-wide.

  6. Seems Ford is looking to bypass the Dealers here in the U.S. as they open a new branch of direct sales to small businesses that can benefit from the reduced cost of running EVs and EV ownership versus ICE. Dealerships that screw over customers who are tired of Additional Market Markups and ignore Ford or GM should lose business. As such, I am happy to see the Legacy OEMs find ways to get around the dealership monopoly. Ford Targets Small Business Owners with Electric Vehicles (msn.com) QUOTE: The initiative is being pushed by Jim Farley, CEO for Ford, who told Fox Business: “Now we want to move into the services business, and those customers, most of them are small business. They own five or six vehicles or are a plumber, electrician. They are underserved customers with data and telematics. Ford is committed to helping small businesses, many of which operate in the services industry, to make owning an electric vehicle a reality, by offering financing, repair services and the full electric vehicle ‘package.’

  8. $1500-1600 for a set of airless tires is not going to gain much traction ( ) with the 'appliance crowd'. It's not like the olden days of A Christmas Story, where blowouts are all that common, but let's go ahead and invent problems that require new, hyper-expensive solutions. You know- like cabin air filters. ?

  9. Not exactly hard to outsell a Tundra right now considering that model is on the way out to make way for the new model. The 2022 model just released in December. meanwhile, the Tacoma sold over 15K. Good start for the Maverick but the article was lazy to bring up a full size outgoing pick up to the conversation. The software they used, Forscan, is pretty common in the Ford world. That is what I used when I swapped out my Sync2 for a Sync3 system in my Flex. What that guy is doing is neat but clearly a hassle as well (as documented in that article). Not having a working airbag in your steering wheel is a pretty big no no, just to gain cruise control. That's more of a Frankenstein swap lol, bound to cause problems.

  10. For those that like cars, Yes looking at @oldshurst442 and @ccap41 there are still some very interesting concepts that could, based on public opinion make it to production according to Stellantis. The release of the DS Concept car E-Tense. total output of 815 horsepower and 5,900 pound-feet of torque at the wheels and unlocks through-the-road all-wheel-drive DS E-TENSE PERFORMANCE: DRIVING FUTURE | DS Automobiles | Stellantis Image album | DS Automobiles | Stellantis Not sure how some of the other media sites got these pictures which do not appear on the Stellantis DS Media folder, but I like the style.
