  1. It catches the eye alright...like how pink eye catches your eye. For the same reasons, it needs to be gone lol. And Happy B-Day btw!
  2. Was a rainy fall day here in NE Ohio, so a good day to visit a museum. Went down to Warren and toured the National Packard Museum (right next door to the Packard Music Hall where I saw William Shatner on stage Thursday night doing a q&a after a showing of Star Trek II:Wrath of Khan). Beautiful vintage cars in this museum. I wonder if Balthazar would have appreciated it.
  3. Saw a Cybertruck in traffic the other day, had a great personalized plate-- 'DMPSTR'.
  4. So, it finally happened. I was really hoping to avoid seeing one of these things up close but, yet, here it is as I park right beside it. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go wash my eyes out with some battery acid. Oh and those horrible panel gaps and alignment issues are VERY real!
  5. Saw William Shatner on stage in Warren, Ohio the other evening. Had a showing of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Shatner did a q&a afterward. Very energetic and funny , hard to believe he’s 93.
  6. Ford wants to be your EV choice! A Ford Survey was conducted from September 13th to 17th, 2024 covering a total of 2,007 respondents and highlighted the following: Most respondents do not understand how home charging works. Most respondents do not know where you would buy or how to get a home charger. Most respondents do not understand how you go about getting the charger installed. All respondents had no idea what the cost might be or if it was affordable to have a home charger installed. To quote Ford: "Ford believes it will take more than jumbo rebates to truly break through with the estimated 19 million people in the U.S. interested in electric vehicles. It will take – you guessed it – convenience, peace of mind, and expert service. It will take a modern-day version of the friendly filling station, only this time you “fill ’er up” at home." Ford Power Promise Anouncement today is the following, Home is where the charge is, On-the-Road charging with confidence, Battery Confidence, Ongoing support and guidance Ford Power Promise Fact Sheet.pdf Ford has been focused on making public charging easier with the joining of the Tesla Supercharging station network added to the Ford BlueOval Charge Network and now they are taking this one step farther as federal rebates will not be enough for the bulk of folks looking to move over to an EV. People loved their old Bronco's, F100, F150 pickups, SUVs and cars, but gone are the days of stopping at a gas station and having the windshield cleaned, tire pressure checked, quart of oil added if needed by a team of attendants. Now you have to pump your own gas and pay an attendant sitting behind a plexiglass wall as you get your lottery tickets and energy drinks. People want less maintenance and easier filling up, Ford Power is going to deliver that with Home Charging and a superior experience via the BlueOval charge network. 7. Absolutely. Of course, Springfield is 45 minutes from where I live. Lots of crazy stuff here. NAZI's openly marching in both Springfield and Grove City, the suburb I am closest to. Wild how this brand new F150 catches fire and burns so quickly. Even odder how the fire seems to melt/vaporize the aluminum cab. Oddly enough, we have a harpsichord in our music department, it sounds awesome. Different Harpsichord, but every type of music is keeping me sane.
  8. Very interesting read. I have always felt that immigrants helped this country, and the facts are proving that out. Most immigrants start their own business than take existing jobs. This is some interesting facts that help explain how we continue to grow our GNP. Are immigrants taking jobs from 'native' U.S. workers? Here's what economists say (msn.com)
  9. @A Horse With No Name Thank you for posting that video, WOW, that is crazy the amount of water that came down. We had a Category 5 Atmospheric River storm that was expected to hit Oregon and Washington last week, at the last minute the storm pushed north into Vancouver BC up to Anchorage Alaska with over 6" of rain fall per hour over a 24hr period, flooding and so much crazy water. Lucky it hit mostly uninhabited space.
  10. I agree, do not buy it when it already needs new shocks and not just the one, replace them all. Have them check the alignment and ball joints, if it has been driven on a bad blown out shock, there could be other suspension issues. Just be cautious.
  11. @surreal1272 @ccap41 The CyberJUNK is a joke and IMHO a alpha test that people are paying for so Tesla can figure out how to build a so called truck. Rivian is so far superior in this manner. Tesla Cybertruck breaks down after going through car wash | The Independent Another story on the car wash problem. Can You Put a Cybertruck Through a Car Wash? (dailydot.com) Seems according to Tesla, one has to go through a very detailed change to use an auto wash, they recomment washing the CyberJUNK by hand. Cleaning (tesla.com) What a joke, I just pull into a touchfree auto wash in my EV9 and it gets nice and clean and I drive away, no need to do all this crap and yes the EV9 has auto sensing wipers, but just one turn on the stalk and it is off and they are already hidden out of the way.
  12. I've caught a handful out in the wild. I'll be honest, they certainly are eye-catching. They're hideous, but do catch the eye. It honestly sucks, because it's a pretty awesome vehicle otherwise. Had it not had the stupid styling, which also leads to the finger-cutting-off-abilities, I'd want one. They look SO bad though.
  13. He's a McGill business grad, so a Montrealer. It sounds like a private university, but it's public. It's also Anglophone and smack in the middle of Montreal's Financial District. I've never been a fan of sci-fi, so I never got into Star Trek, Star Wars, or even Batman, Superman, and Spiderman. I don't think liking Jetsons cartoons counts. Shatner surprisingly makes the list of the least pleasant Hollywood celebrities you might see on homepages. I forgot the examples they gave. Good that he's high energy at 93. I was not surprised to see Steven Seagal and Jennifer Lopez on the list. Someone needs to remind her she's the product of a crappy part of The Bronx.
  14. Fall and winter is when I enjoy Italian food. There is an Italian deli/grocery less than a mile from my house, I go in there occasionally to get bread, ready to eat pasta dishes for lunch, and pastries. Had delicious cannolis yesterday. Had linner today at the 1815 Tavern in Aurora, nice selection of appetizers.
  15. I will eat all kinds of Italian food: down home small restaurants in Italy, bistro Italian, Italian-American, and I have even had some excellent Italian food in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay the few times I've vacationed there given that, beyond those of Spanish stock, Italians are the largest immigrant group. I had a cannelloni lunch special in seaside Vina del Mar, Chile for a bargain price and it rivaled cannelloni I've eaten anywhere and at different price points. I still think about that cannelloni lunch. That place in Columbus was one of the worst Italian(-American) meals I've had. And if the two people dining can agree on that, then there's something to it! I can't believe how they pat themselves on the back when they're only resting on their laurels. There is a good Greek and Italian (both) restaurant in the Westerville suburb - near your IKEA - where I once had a great lunch. - - - - - Detroit made big plans, with a lot of elaborate buildings and grand (diagonal, so French in inspiration) boulevards. I believe it was nicknamed "the Paris of the Midwest" because of that. Kansas City, MO also put a lot into its urban planning and may have the nickname "the Paris of the Plains." I tend to retain a lot of "useless" information.
  16. The Greek restaurant I want to take you too is even better, it is off of 315 by Micro center. It's amazing! My sister, daughter, mother, sisters family live in Asheville/Hendersonville/Black Mountain. This is some of the storm damage. All of them are being told a week or two before water, electric are restored. All of the roads were blocked. My nephew tried to make it in with generators, diesel, and water and was turned back by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol because every road was blocked by trees, downed power lines or floods. That is my youngest daughter, the oldest fell and broke her wrist, took her in to get it set this AM. Fun times. I would have loved this! Trying a new Italian place tonight. More North Carolina...another sister lives in Nofth Florida so we really got smacked with this.
