The bustleback was the ugliest of all the E-bodies IMO. I can definitely feel where one would consider the car throwaway. The front-drive just makes matters that much worse for enthusiasts. But to those who like them, go for what you know. All the other generations of Seville/STS are OK with me, however (especially the first, fourth, and--tight interior be damned--current version).

My point was why does it specifically have to be an HT-4100 model if you're going to yank the engine anyway? Were they still longitudinally mounting engines in the E-bodies at the time?

No, GM and Ford are just simply convinced SUVs and front-drive big cars are the only things North American drivers will buy....

I had to come look when I saw that front end in the commercial. Definitely nice for an SUV.

There's a pretty serious amount of gay guys here...and they're not even into the stereotypical "gay man's cars" either....I easily would not have known any of you to be gay but for those that throw out words like "my boyfriend." Did a double take the first couple of times, but got used to it. Good to know folks openly do their thing and aren't ashamed...my brother is gay also, but hasn't come out yet. Well, I wasn't the first one aiming it squarely at four-door BMWs...here, I was just making a case where I can see both the CTS and STS trying to ride the same track in the lineup, to the point one can derail the other.

Why not use a crappy V-8-6-4 or Buick V-6 model? Unless you aren't talking about the bustleback, but really mean the late 80s version (far more worth it IMO)

Those Beetles are basically held by the enthusiasts now....and they're kept tightly under wraps for the most part....you'll see one every once in a blue mon that isn't restored/hooked up, kinda like seeing someone still using a 68 Nova as a transportation car, but even then, in both cases, they'll still tell you it's not for sale, and chances are, they're asked every day. You're right about the other three. Vegas have likely been cut up by the dragstrip crowd (since a smallblock could fit in the engoine bay).
