Yeah, what you describe is definitely a district reaction to NCLB. From the tiny class size, I'm guessing it had to do with funding separate special needs programs getting cut in order to fund the new NCLB bureaucracy. Your mother sounds very dedicated...many teachers wouldn't put up with that kind of environment. Is she actually a credentialed special needs instructor, or did the district just say "here you go!"?

I clicked the link, and all I saw were the dame quotes you quoted. Funny thing is, I see not one word of what Obama allegedly even did, just condemnation of "his actions." Tell me, what was it? And don't say trying to suppress his critics with law enforcement...what is he accused of ACTUALLY doing that is being called suppression by an obvious political opponent?

No I watched it, and obviously you noticed the same thing I did, as you immediately follow up with: Sorry, but defense spending has increased so much, and to the detriment of other, more worthy programs over the past 8 years. It above all else needs to be reigned in, in the form of a gradual, responsible withdrawel of troups from Iraq. Finish up our business in Afghanistan. But Iraq never needed our presence, and we need an exit strategy NOW. So for McCain to call for a spending freeze on everything BUT defense, social security, and medicaid...what exactly is going to get cut? Just thinking about all the government programs that fall outside of those categories makes me ill. Using a hatchet instead of a scalpal is VERY analogous. As for Obama (and really, McCain) not saying what he would be willing to cut in light of the current financial crisis...honestly that was a stupid question. It is way too soon to know what the effects of this will be. This isn't January, budgets haven't been decided, and we are just too far away to know if there is a need to respond to any other crises. I also think it's underhanded to ask a question to the candidates essentially to see what single-issue voter constituency they're willing to alienate by saying that issue isn't that important to them. Sure, budgets will be tighter, some goals may not be realized, but why do things have to be cut entirely? Why not just adjusted spending across the board? No, I really disliked that question.

Al Quaida isn't a nuclear power (yet), and Pakistan is currently an ally. We can play the what if game until the sun goes supernova, but it doesn't change the fact that Al Quaida is somewhere in Pakistan gaining strength.

I disagree. While the design isn't cutting-edge or modern, I can't think of anything in the engineering that isn't. I'm not going to subscribe to FWD < RWD because there are modern FWD cars out there. There's a lot of techno goodies in these cars, and I think they're fairly cutting-edge in the non-performance luxury market.

Aurora is proof that the G-body can handle/perform well with the proper tuning. Bonneville to a slightly lesser extent. (Let's try to avoid the tedious G v. H body debate...yes the VIN is different, but the architectures are essentially the same). One thing that's often overlooked with regards to G, but is how well GM minimizes torque steer. These cars can be very good with the proper steering and suspension tuning. If I recall correctly, many of these vehicles can have their programming adjusted by the dealership to be firmer or softer, so if someone wants to do it, they can do it.

Nah, it isn't crisp-handling, but it isn't floaty. My father has owned an 85 Sedan de Ville, a 90 Fleetwood, 95 Deville Concours, 00 DHS, 06 DTS, and we inherited an 80 Sedan de Ville 15 or so years ago. Each generation has been progressively better with ride/handling, an the current DTS is pretty fun to drive if you aren't getting too crazy. It's not a performance car, but it's a very enjoyable commuter car.

What I want to know is what position Obama would be in to make these threats. What regulatory/tax actions would he make? He isn't a czar. The whole allegation just rings false, and continues with the "uppity black man" theme the mainstream media was pushing last spring. I don't like ridiculous allegations, and repeating them as facts without sources really hurts your credibility.

First of all, where's your source (or sources)? Cite it/them. Secondly, your claim that McCain is above this stuff is patently false. What do you call it when McCain had the Charles Gibson interview of Sarah Palin with a list of approved topics? Huh?
