Uhhh...you were saying that truth is subjective, relating to the individual and his/her experiences. Truth is not subjective. It's correct, or it's false. Interpretations are subjective, but not the truth itself. Is that not EXACTLY what I said?

False. Facts do not lie within the individual. By your logic, a person is incapable of being delusional or "wrong." It is very possible to be factually wrong. You're talking about experiences, but those are far different from facts or actual happenings. For a great example, I tried a legal hallucinogen, Salvia, once, and I experienced morphing through time and space quite vividly. At one point I was inside a video game. It was all so vivid, and I KNOW what I saw...but that doesn't mean it happened. Have you ever had a misunderstanding with someone? Because from what you interpreted and knew to be true, that person totally slighted you. But when you talked to them about it, you learned that THE TRUTH wasn't anything like what "you knew to be true." Hillary Clinton may have FELT like she was under sniper fire during the campaign, but when she visited Tuzla it was not under gunfire, but under a blue sky with Sheryl Crow, Chelsea, and little girls with flowers and poems. And given the number of links Oldsmoboi posts, the truth isn't what someone told him, it's what he's gone out and found himself.
  3. You mean try and pull a Reagan by cutting all the safety net government spending, thereby hurtling the people at the bottom even further behind while accelerating the elimination of the middle class? If these economic policies keep continuing, there will be a vast polarization of the social classes: Rich and Destitute. Sounds like the feudal days...
  4. The f@#k is that supposed to mean? Frankly, it's really telling that the majority of your recent posts are caustic and/or threatening. If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen. These threads are in good humor, and nobody should be taking them seriously to the point of getting pissy.

How's that? Are you telling me that facts do not exist, and research is unnecessary? That everything is negotiable? That when the toddler puts 1+1 together and somehow gets 3, that he isn't wrong, but just coming from a different point of view? Bull-f@#king-$h! And if Oldsmoboi's sources are somehow slanted, then where are your sources slanted in the opposite direction? Hmmm? If there's a bias, there's gotta be a counter-bias out there somewhere............unless the truth actually exists in some form, somewhere...

  7. MJ and Cocaine over here. I do not support/approve of decriminalizing anything else, because anything else can be really dangerous for the user as well as bystanders. Could you imagine if meth were decriminalized? Oh dear god...
  8. Economic policy Consumer protection Healthcare Arts & Culture Social welfare (aid to the poor, not necessarily the current "welfare" program, which I think is fundamentally flawed)
  9. Dude. Executive power provides for Judiciary appointments, which are then lifetime appointments. How the way the Supreme Court functions for the next decade or two isn't a big deal to you I cannot fathom.
  10. This isn't the most accurate thing in the world issue by issue, but it seems to give an overall outcome that is fairly accurate: http://www.votehelp.org/
  11. I can sit here and create a list of anti-anything, but whether or not it's based in reality or is total BS depends on the source of information. Also, legitimate agencies tend not to take these fact lists and turn them into animated .gifs. PCS, you found it, so find it again. I see nothing that makes this animated .gif seem credible, and there are a couple points that run counter to what I've already read. ETA: Wow, this took like a minute to find: Yea, none of those sound familiar or anything, right?
  12. Sorry Northie, but you're wrong. Roe v. Wade could very easily get reversed if McCain/Palin appoint another conservative judge to the bench. Bush got 2. All it would take for Roe v. Wade to be overturned/reversed is another stupid abortion case arguing one little twist they haven't heard before, them deciding to take the case (conservative activist majority would likely do this), and then rule in a way that overturns the Roe v. Wade precedent. And no offense, but who cares about the Catholic teaching? Maybe that's relevant in Rome. Palin's against BC as well, and if these things are made difficult to obtain, the point's moot. Also, what kind of BC is acceptable in a case of a pregnant rape victim? BC is preventative...
  13. Really, who buys music anymore?
  14. What's your source? I clicked it, and it just took me to a free image hosting site.
  15. This hike is actually somewhat legitimate. Ike has not been kind to the Gulf Coast at all...
  16. Best Buy gift certificate. At this age, all we need is cash (or equivalent)!

Uh huh. So a community organizer starts with nothing and is an activist to CREATE an institution to address an issue, yet a mayor (note the spelling) already has an institution at her disposal. Also, mayors don't do the budget; that's for city council. All a mayor does is approve or veto it.
  18. So...what if they are doing business with a family member who does not speak English? What then?
  19. Are you being facetious, or what? Bush Doctrine: 2002. Palin was originally said to have been at the 1994 AIP Convention before the AIP head decided he "couldn't remember" if she was actually there or not--but Todd Palin sure was!

  21. Hmmm...the star formation looks really fresh and modern, but it makes the rectilinear aspects of the blue section and the stripes look very dated. It looks incongruous. I like the stars, though...looks like fireworks.
  22. What, why would they come to the US if they didn't want to? Puerto Rico doesn't vote or have any say in the governance, and in return doesn't pay all the taxes the rest of us do. I honestly don't see how it's any different than all the people with California flag-themed stickers on their cars around here...
  23. First class of the day, period 2 US History for sophomores. The dean came to the door, said something to the teacher, who then turned on the television and went outside to talk to the dean. 10 minutes later, he returned, we started talking, and I'll never forget what he said: "Mark my words--it always happens this way--the government will use this as an excuse to take away your civil liberties, but only if Americans are dumb enough to have the wool pulled over their eyes and let it happen." Bell rings, we go off to take our state-mandated standardized test. All day long, every TV in every student lounge and classroom was dedicated to the 24/7 media onslaught.
  24. It is true, but you have to keep in mind that you're sticking them in oil again. After something has been fried once, the second time allows it to absorb quite a bit more oil. Think about potato chips from the bag...you know the really fried ones that are darker and crispier? Are they not the greasiest ones, too? If drained on a rack, and not in paper towels or anything that allows them to sit in the oil you're trying to drain from them, they will be plenty crispy.

What do you think a community organizer from the south side of Chicago did?
