1. Yea I just wikipediaed them and saw that too! REALLY $h!ty website though...they can't be making any money...
2. Heh, I remember Service Merchandise!! That's a way-back reference...my dad got his original NES there...
3. LOL @ Satty...mine was as a cashier/bagger at a grocery as well. I lasted 4 months, but was let go when the store closed. ETA: Satty, nice Violent Femmes callback in the sig.
4. Only if it wins...but it really doesn't deserve it. VE all the way.
5. Croc

Crap!!

Don't feel bad...it's his own damn fault for putting someone behind the wheel who shouldn't have been. You haven't had the proper training yet, and you shouldn't feel responsible for the damage. It's your father's poor judgement that resulted in this.
6. "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses (or my favorite, the Spice Girls cover) other than that...meh not really into Christmas music. I like Sandler's Chanukah Song though... ETA: How could I forget NKOTB's "Funky Funky Xmas"???? Another favorite...
7. Stick with the tried-and-true iPod. There's a reason it's the most popular mp3 player and has been since its introduction.
8. Honestly if GM wanted to, they could make the sliding door an option, couldn't they? Like the old T800s had the liftgate/double doors option.
9. Mmmmmmmmmm my pie was sooooooo good...i need more wine...
10. I'm going to my aunt and uncle's house for dinner. The rest of my family is leaving now, but my pumpkin pie (from scratch...no can of Libby's) needs another 20 minutes I think...so I'm here killing time.Tomorrow though, I'm making the traditional turkey, gravy, stuffing bit and possibly another pumpkin pie. My aunt no longer has her sense of smell due to old-time nasal sprays having cocaine in them (she has a lot of allergies, even more as a kid in the 1940s) and therefore her sense of taste is pretty blown too...hence my family's 2nd Thanksgiving...plus it is my favorite holiday and as far as I'm concerned should be celebrated as often as possible. This pie better finish cooking soon...I need to start drinking wine ASAP @ my aunt and uncle's house...
11. I actually saw a Compass on the road in LA the other day...and honestly in person it looks good. Would I own one? Hell no...but it looks 10,000,000x better in person.
12. Mention a single mass-market vehicle. None of those are. The SSR and Bel Air were retro-inspired anyway.
13. Those look amazing.
14. I don't give a $h! whether it's historically a "Pontiac" or "Chevrolet" dash design. I guarantee the general public does not either. Chevrolet has not used this design over the last several decades with any consistency so that it becomes irreversibly associated with the brand. >>This interior is very sporty, though--so much so that it would not seem out of place in a Pontiac with only a logo change.<< Between the arrows is the main point of my post. If GM can make a Chevrolet this un-boring and sporty, then think how nice and sporty future Pontiac interiors will be. Chevrolet will finally get to put SS badges on vehicles without tepid interiors...it's about time.
15. The poster at the bottom of page 5 hit the nail on the head: I would have no problem with this interior being the Pontiac G6 interior with the only change being an Arrowhead instead of a Bowtie. If the exterior of the Malibu is as sporty as the interior is, Chevrolet will have a huge hit.
16. Taillights look really cheap and Chinese.
17. I get jibberish when I click your thumbnail, TED.
18. No, I'm quite perceptive, Bill. I just disagree that maroon and charcoal with metallic trim of any finish constitutes warmth. I don't find the AURA interior to be warm at all with the charcoal dash and morrocan brown, either, and certainly not in black leather. Give me the neutral interior and the metallic trim, and I find it a little more inviting. I'm hoping that's the case here. ETA: I'm just not a fan of charcoal upper dashes.
19. I want to see one confirmed as fully-loaded before I pan it. I like it if this is a base interior. I am assuming NAV, dual-zone, and other amenities are available that would spice things up a bit. I also want to see other color combinations. If this is a fully-loaded interior, though, then I'll pass and say it's a mild step-up from the AURA. BTW--if you look closely at the doors (best on the hi-res pic) I am praying to God that isn't the fake plastic stitching on them. ETA: I wouldn't call it a "warm" interior. Too much metal and it is entirely darkly colored. I think it is kind of cold and sterile (not in a negative connotation, though), but it has personality and style. It certainly isn't boring, and it certainly looks very classy. I think it looks sporty. I'm having a hard time putting this into words, so I'm gonna use a crazy analogy: this interior is like the character Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) on Grey's Anatomy. Lacks warmth and whimsy, but is without a doubt driven, purposeful, excellent and successful. Of course, my entire opinion could reverse with a lighter/brighter color scheme.
20. Is the Avenger for sale yet? I haven't seen one...I only compared it to cars currently on sale.
21. Not included for the same reason the 9-3 wasn't included: higher price point/different drivers. The G6 and Malibu go after the same demographic. Ah, but why were the VWs there? Well the Jetta fits into the price point, and the Passat was there for comparison of how well the Malibu stacks up against premium competition.
22. No, it does not. It might look conservative, "puffy" (my personal opinion), staid, evocative of the OXO GoodGrips line of arthritis-friendly kitchen tools (another personal opinion), etc...but there's no way in hell it looks "dollar-store" cheap (shower-radio display, maybe...but not the entire interior). That would be bias.
23. Agreed, this is the most apt analogy, especially since converters will be made available for the older TVs. I have no problem with older OnStar customers having to get an upgrade or new equipment installed...even for a price (if original contract has expired). But to offer nothing whatsoever is just retarded.
24. Older MBs are great. But the quality dropped severely in the mid-90s...
25. That's hot. So's Griffon's link...
