  1. See, I'm not biased so I bitch about all dead panels. I don't care if it's a $12,000 car. It doesn't cost $$$ to design a center stack that doesn't need a dead panel.I checked several sites, and not a single shot shows any icon on that dead panel. If anyone can verify, I almost think that there isn't an option there...it's just a black plastic circle in the design...tacky. Put a dash speaker there or something...
  2. That last quarter-quarter window thingy is actually a black plastic insert, you little $h! :AH-HA_wink:
  3. Do a search for the old "Cooking with Croc" thread...there were a bunch of culinary gems in there from everyone...many of them inexpensive to make
  4. Nice interior!!
  5. You need to go to www.gmc.com and click on the Acadia under the New Vehicle Preview tab. Look through the various demos, especially the interior one. There is a video demo of third row access. There is also a picture of cargo space with the third row. You should check it out.

    Nissan Altima

It's bringing sexy back!!! So much better than the last Altima!
  7. Um...I know why it's there...but DO SOMETHING WITH IT instead od just being blank. Looks cheap!
  8. after further inspection, I have 3 gripes: The temperature knob The air flow knob The dead button The first two should have been the same button (slightly different sizes maybe?) as the fan speed button...same design at least. The dead button just shouldn't be there.

    This thing is so gross.
  12. I too like this better than the Aveo. Classier, even though they are just a few random changes...they do add up.
  13. See, normally I'd agree, but in the AURA pic, I don't see a finger going IN the gap. My M-Class has such horrible fit that my rear bumper looks like it is falling off. I can stick my middle finger all the way to the knuckle in the gap between the bumper and the side fender. THAT is sticking a finger in. Finger tips? nah.
  14. I like the G3 better. I don't care for the interior in this one as much...and while color-keyed knobs are a good detail...they look ugly in this application IMO.
  15. No...?
  16. Are the plastic inserts on the front seatbacks difficult for knees? How is the steering column attached? What about the "finger in the door" test? I have questions, I need answers!

    Dodge Nitro

So how solidly attached is/was the steering column? Did you check? I don't see the pictures...and what about the "finger in the closed door" test? Sorry, but I need more vital information.
  18. You are very uninformed.FIRST of all: This product has been given rave reviews so far, especially commenting on good quality in every major media outlet. This is certainly a more quality product than the Malibu or G6. SECONDLY: This car will be on the market for 3 model years before it is replaced with the Vectra/AURA. THIRDLY: You cannot see the quality improvements? Have you seen the Lambdas? The GMT900s? The new Cadillac SRX interior? I don't see all this rampant cost-cutting...in fact I can tell you that Lutz has INCREASED interior budgets. It has much been reported that when a car went over budget the interior was what was scaled back...and that they are no longer doing that. So before you sit there and criticize Lutz, make sure you have the facts right.
  19. Actually, because they have an immense over-capacity.
  20. I will be at LAIAS this upcoming season and believe me...I will nitpick the $h! out of these cars...last season I hated everything except some AUDIs, Acuras and a Benz or two...everything else was so cheap. VW interiors have gone waaaaay down.
  21. i still think the 2nd row sits too close to the floor...

Oh please...it isn't all that rare. I've noticed a few of those instances occurring recently.

First of all...am I correct in interpreting your last few posts as indication that this is your design? If so...did you seriously create a thread to promote your own work and include the self-aggrandizing "I'd hit it!" emoticon? Seriously? Secondly...yes, grilles change over time. That said, a successful designer can still create vehicles with new, modern design elements that might be foreign to the existing brand...yet incorporate them in such a way that the overall vehicle still looks like it belongs to that brand. For example: The 1980 Cadillac Seville. From the horizontal taillights to the bustleback rear, very little of its shape/styling seem to evoke Cadillac. The devil is in the details: the side molding placement, the proportions, the wheel arches, the grille, the headlight shape/placement...etc. All of those elements make that vehicle, so different from all other Cadillacs, instantly recognizable as a Cadillac. The 2003 CTS is another example: despite using the new Art & Science design vocabulary, the car was still instantly recognizable as a Cadillac. It all goes back to this: If the Ford designers had designed the current Chevrolet Impala, would it be a Ford? No...because it looks nothing like a Ford, lacks Ford proportions, or any other cues to identify it being a Ford. Even the ovoid Taurus still had a Ford "presence" about it despite the radical styling.
