  1. The command seating does it for me, though I'll stick to crossovers since I like some degree of handling and performance as well as some semblance of decent gas mileage.Too bad GM doesn't have diesel engines to offer...I'd snap a diesel SRX up in a heartbeat.

EPII is a heavily reworked EPI...just like the Camry was redone on reworked platforms for a while.

Oh shut up, you haven't seen anything. The Malibu just needs a better interior really. If it had a first-rate interior, it would be selling quite well.
  4. To be cryptic? Seriously...NG AURA 2010 on EPII. Just accept it and move on.I anticipate the styling will be very similar to the current, but the platform will be heavily reengineered.
  5. Well, I am too. But this AURA is only to be around for 2.5-3 years before the EPII model is released. Given those circumstances, I can now see why GM released a vehicle and didn't waste any unnecessary expense in doing so.

No. This will likely be an interior refresh and a slight exterior refresh if anything. If the exterior is changed, it will likely be the rear since that wasn't changed with the initial refresh.
  7. Grab handles, rear cupholders, console space for a cell phone, glove box that fits more than a manual, little thoughtful details throughout interior that indicate the manufacturer was intent on designing a quality interior space.
  8. But at least it's offered. And since GM uses corporate units it would be as simple as letting dealers install it and adding a tick on the option sheet.

Refresh for 2008, NG in 2011

I read the GMI article, and a lot of speculation is being passed off as fact. Again, no Pontiac is planned as of now.

Do you have the program codes? I ask because so far there is no EPII G6 planned and the Malibu has been bumped to 2011 with a heavy MCE in 2008. This is per the latest info (as of March 2006) that I have seen.

    .....

Doesn't seem as differentiated from the Silverado as I would have liked or had heard it to be...that said...this camo doesn't show a lot. It looks good, though Nice find!
  13. This is testament that GM can build a good car when they decide to. Good, not great. The Cobalt, like almost every GM, still lacks the attention to detail it needs. Those grab handles would be a good standard addition that would cost very little to install. I really like the Cobalt. Wih just a few minor changes (and more inspiring styling) I might even love it. NAV should be an option (full-blown NAV, not just turn-by-turn). The Mazda3 offers it; and look at the recent GM corporate units...they can easily be swapped out. Would many people order it? No, but its availability would be a big positive. GM could even make it a dealer-installed option to keep the complexity down at Lordstown.
  14. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Paris as MT...funny $h!... The irony just kills me...the tall young leggy blonde rich bitch playing the short hunched-over old gray-haired impoverished do-gooder...
  15. Wait for the 2010 AURA on EPII. That's when AURA is the same as the Opel Vectra.
  16. I would actually argue that the consumers were switching to SUVs not for RWD but for AWD. The SUVs were a burgeoning trend before GM cancelled the B-bodies.
  17. That makes sense. I guess I was just thrown off by the phrase "take the heat off" the trucks as PT...which to me implies the trucks are being relied upon as PT...which I do not see. Thanks for clarifying.
  18. Well could you please explain then? I don't really see how large RWD cars would replace trucks as personal transportation (I don't see too many people buying trucks for personal transport like SUV buyers do). People buy trucks for different reasons than cars. The two have very different characteristics. Cars don't have the high driving position, and they won't have the towing ability. Both are very important to GM, but I don't see them being cross-shopped at all.Remember, the B-bodies were cancelled due to rising SUV sales, not B-bodies being cancelled resulting in rising SUV sales. I just don't see the Zeta vehicles stealing sales from trucks/SUVs in any meaningful way. I DO see Lambda crossovers stealing BOF SUV sales...and I see Zeta vehicles getting a lot of conquest sales.

That's what I've been hearing...that due to the funding issues the 2008 will be a major refresh and the 2011 will be the rear EPII Malibu.AURA EPII is 2010 LaCrosse is 2009 9-3 will prolly be 2009 or 2010

Disagree. Malibu should be the Camcord fighter. AURA could be up another level by going after VW. Honestly...SAAB and Saturn are going to be VERY similar in the future...which worries me. SAAB could get by basically by being a more sport-tuned Saturn...but still the marketplace differentiation between them will be very narrow. Oh well. LaCrosse should really be ES350-ish.

No. Paulie...you're reading that wrong...LaCrosse is coming in 2009...It isn't pegged as "the 2nd EPII," rather it is the second EPII as a result of an EPII possibly being scheduled for release in 2008. If there is an unforseen delay in the first...the two would be released together.
  22. Is that the 2006 Vectra?Either way, the AURA will only be around for 2.5-3 years before its second generation bows...so it really don't need to matter...yet.

That sounds about right, though I do not know if it will be 2010...might be 11.
  24. All that interior needs is that wood to go away...and for that aluminum trim kit to be applied.
