  1. Fair enough.
  2. I agree. That said, I have a hard time imagining a Buickman "epiphany" that will cause him to suddenly conduct himself more appropriately.
  3. Basically, yes.BTW, you shouldn't criticize his spelling. People in glass houses and all...
  4. Of course...in normal circumstances you wouldn't know Northstar's age (or in this case...THINK you know, because you clearly don't) and this would be immaterial. Quit being so judgmental. Respect goes both ways. Condescending to young people like you often do is not winning you many friends on this site.
  5. That wasn't an attack, merely lighthearted humor acknowledging the similarities between the two professions in terms of the persistance.Go ahead an be offended, whatever, I don't care. You're over-sensitive anyway and seem to have a severe lack of self-awareness. I truly feel sorry that you cannot laugh at yourself. I'll be praying for you. If you have anything else of which to accuse me, send me a PM, ok?

The Malibu was panned for being ugly. The STS wasn't. There was/is no need for an "emergency" refresh. If the STS were to be refreshed, it would likely occur for 2008 or 2009 with a NG STS bowing in 2010 or 2011.
  7. What's the scene like? Lots of country? Or is there any of that small-town angsty emo? Or is it all Christian rock?
  8. Maybe people wouldn't jump all over you if you treated everyone else with a modicum of respect. Yes, Josh, everyone is just out to get you and you are just the saddest boy in the world innocently getting sucked into all this drama. Make this all about you. Gimme a break! [/John Stossel]================================================== Good to hear that this news is false...I kinda expected it to be anyway. Sounded too fishy and too contrary to "known" fact to be true...
  9. Actually, I think it's pretty obvious from where the "CGI artists" drew their inspiration.
  10. Discussions are fine, repeated monologues that beat the same beat like a broken record are not.

Just make sure you try to connect with him as he's growing up. When planning family fun days, make sure it really is fun for the whole family. Encourage/force him to try new things. Foster independence. Make sure you actually know your kid...it sucks when that doesn't happen.
  12. Too bad The New York Post isn't anywhere near to being in the same league as The Wall Street Journal or The New York Times!
  13. This is true. The ones I'm friends with are pretty hilarious.
  14. Paulie...you're just proving his point by getting all offended over his post instead of just rolling your eyes and laughing to yourself at the ignoramus's expense.
  15. For realz. The line of that Detroit News article that cracked me up the most: How do you figure that? It's a fairy zapped by her own magic..."Silly little fairy" seems pretty appropriate. Also, straight guys usually don't use the word "silly" when we're being homophobic...I've heard plenty of "stupids" but never a silly. Plus that guy delivers it pretty sing-song.........how the hell is that "more indicating of how he might say that to a man"? Yea time to get a life... Stereotypes exist for a reason...there's a little grain of truth in them somewhere. You have two options: be offended, or make fun of the stereotypes. Also, I am kinda on board about the over-sensitive minority thing to an extent...let's be honest...when has a white male been truly offended by the "white people can't dance" or the "white people can't play basketball" stereotypes? Seriously...I've never ever ever ever seen someone get pissed off and offended because of those...the reaction is usually "Eh, whatevs."

Firstly, it is the NG CTS. I can confirm that. Secondly, that is the Euro spec STS we've seen. STS isn't getting refreshed any time soon to my knowledge...it just debuted as a 2005 model! The only reason the SRX gets the 2007 freshening is because its NG program was pushed back to MY2009 while the CTS is still on target for MY2008.

Wait til the camo comes off, ok cynic? Northie: the article mentions both V6 and V8 capabilities...so I would assume the Outlook is the same (referring to the other thread).
  18. I had a post in this thread that got deleted or eaten by the board... As I said before, I think it looks very nice and attractive. From the Edmunds blurb, it appears to be an attractive package with all the right features. I need to see an interior and rear shot, though, before I can endorse it, but that I think it could be popular. Is this on a Ford platform? The headlights kind of give me an Edge vibe for some reason. I hope so...Ford needs greater commonality of platforms. I think they wasted a lot of money having the Mazda6 on its own platform while heavily revising it for the Fusion/Milan/MKZ. No sense. Have them all on one or the other, greater economies of scale, and greater profits.
  19. I never heard of an aspartame-Cancer risk...but it does cause other problems that are well-documented.

    BLS Cadillac

Oops, you're right. The Maxima didn't go FWD until 1985, one model year later than his. My bad.But that Seville he loved so much wasn't RWD.
  21. I really don't give a rat's ass about the DOHC/VVT/HF etc...But the 3800 isn't the only stellar GM engine that lasts and lasts. The 3800 simply has inadequate power and a lack of refinement for the class of cars it is placed in. The refinement is the real kicker here, as I would otherwise be fine with it being a top engine in the compacts. With the new, more refined, V6 out, GM should switch over to it as the new base engine. If they want to make the 3800 a no-cost option, fine, but it should not be standard in any vehicle as it is just not competitive with the competition's V6s.
