Chevrolet was targeting the Camry when it designed the Malibu...hence the circular Malibu logo, the Toyota-esque taillight treatment, and similar headlight shape.

I was referring to both colleges and high schools. One of the smartest people I know dropped out of college...it isn't for everyone. That said, he has worked hard and learned a lot of life knowledge and went somewhere with it. So there's nothing to be said (inherently) for college vs. not. What on earth are you talking about? I'm completely lost...If you're referring to my comment with the little :AH-HA_wink: following it, then I really don't know what to say as it was a mild joke meant to elicit a chuckle or two.

But my point is that this is a 2008 vehicle, and it is particularly NOT flush. Plus, Saturns are supposed to get the piano black treatment which is CLEARLY not present in these pictures. Again, not quite the final product.

I'm going to wait until the autoshow circuit to judge the interior. The radio doesn't even fit flush with the surrounding pieces, and that to me says that GM is not yet finished with it all.

Well what's wrong with it? I'm not a fan of people who come into a restaurant and urinate all over the bathroom floors intentionally right after they see that they were cleaned. Ooh...now that I specify the reason as to why I did not like these people, it kind of changes things, doesn't it? Trust me, there was a valid reason behind it. When security files a ban report, they have to list the offenses leading to the ban; there always has to be a valid reason behind a ban. The only variable is how strictly one enforces the rules. It is obvious that in life, generally well-behaved people get more of a reprieve than "habitual offenders." Do you think someone is more likely to get a speeding ticket if it is their first offense or their eighth?

My moron comment was directed at the NY Times "journalist," not anyone on this board. You were not following my lead.

My vote goes to the 2006 DTS. I have yet to see one on the road, and many on dealer lots. It just looks awkward and half-baked.

I don't really see the contrast. We have witnessed far too many times on this board where age has been used as a weapon during a heated argument, and I have been guilty of this myself upon occasion. It isn't right. No one, on the other hand, has, in a heated debate, played the "I went to public/private school and you didn't" card to discredit someone. Frankly, I think such thinking is appalling, if for no other fact than that someone can graduate valedictorian from a less prestigious school than someone who graduated with a 1.5 from a very prestigious school. Who likely got more out of the experience and gleaned more knowledge? What the student got out of the school means worlds more than the name printed on the degree. If my posts do that to you you might want to get that checked, though it sounds psychosomatic in nature :AH-HA_wink:

I only used that word because I don't know what else to call it. I just checked a thesarus and it doesn't have any real synonyms.

I don't see how they were offensive and/or rude at all, blu. I think it speaks volumes that we have a large majority of intelligent people on this site who, last time I checked the poll, were overwhelmingly educated by the public school system. I really don't know where the rudeness would come into play...there was no intent at snobbery there at all. I think you may have been reading too much into it. For what it's worth, the threads were inspired by evok's "no child left behind" pun in one of the threads. No ulterior motives.

Razoredge, I do not appreciate the personal attack. I saw that phrase that Delphi workers are paid well and that Delphi "bizarrely pays" those 4000 workers. But you did not read the rest of my post, obviously. That article made NO MENTION of the comparison to other companies in the industry. THAT, was my point. As for your second quotation: of course, they know that amount gets divided up between 33 Toyota executives. Again, though, it is all spin journalism because the number of executives getting this compensation at Delphi is UNSPECIFIED. I have a feeling it is a lot more than 33 executives because a) Delphi is not profitable, and b) that kind of compensation would be out of line with that of the supplier industry. In the future, you might want to refrain from calling someone a "moron" when you lack the necessary skills to back it up. Just some friendly advice so you don't get yourself banned one of these days.

If age is more than a number, then what more is it? And why on earth would I not want to be judged on the merit of my statements? Pardon? Where and most importantly how did you extrapolate all that? How in the world am I levying against posters based on age when I am arguing against revealing one's age? Are you telling me you have never met an adult who acted extremely immaturely? If you are really arguing that...then I must point you to the television, where you can watch moving colored pictures (with sound!) and observe on almost every channel the multitudes of adults with maturity issues. This last part is a vast generalization. You forget that people will not change unless they see a need to chance. Again, there are plenty of mature young people and immature not-so-young people in this world, and that fact alone pretty much disproves your age=maturity argument.

Good! I'm glad Lutz is addressing this. They really are all over here, even in the USC area. And no, I'm not counting the one or two still on the lot at Felix.

I think he just means pop radio. But, just to be fair, I will post a few bands and groups to see if he knows them: 01. Knapsack 02. Sunny Day Real Estate 03. Merril Bainbridge 04. Lisa Loeb 05. O.A.R. 06. Evermore 07. South 08. The Streets 09. Streetlight Manifesto 10. Candlebox Let's see how he does...

Age is nothing but a number. I have met many grown adults well into their elder years with the maturity and emotional outlook of a 5 year old, and I have met many young people on this board who I thought were much older than myself. I'm not posting my age because it is far too easy to begin levying judgments against posters based on their age. I want my posts to be judged on their own merits without any extraneous information being factored into said judgments.

While I am not going to attempt to speak for someone else, even you have to admit that many enthusiasts are getting tired of GM's empty promises. Many are getting tired of the constant "wait, wait, wait..." that the enthusiast community has been hearing for years. Many of us are frankly tired of waiting, and more than a few are tired of getting one's hopes up only for them to be shot to hell. I won't believe it until I see it. If this view frustrates you, well, that is regrettable as, given the history, it does not seem to be an unreasonable view to have. All this said, welcome to Cheers and Gears! I hope you enjoy this site and will continue to post here in the future. Here's to GM! :clink:

i have no knowledge of any of that; i had resigned before all that.

The problem with BYEBMW was this: he did not respect the fact that the moderating team was an authority and THE authority for this site. He would post things in public that should have been kept private via PMs, and when we deleted and/or locked his threads he would repost them. That is what got him banned.

Which is why there's an "other" category.
-
Yea...now for my question: with the proliferation of third row seating...when are manufacturers going to wise up and start offering third row access doors? It would be a welcome addition.
-
Heh...you, sir, are a moron. What a biased piece of journalism! NOT ONCE did it make reference to the absurdly high wages in comparison to the rest of the supplier industry, or how low the upper management benefits package is in the same comparison. Looks like (to quote evok) another child got left behind before getting a job at the NY Times.

Dude, it may be capitalism, but it would come at the expense of some current banks that serve DCX customers already. Not a fan of letting offshore companies gain at the expense of domestic companies...
