  1. While the (second) demise of the Hemi is sad, it wasn't like they were selling quite as much as a V6 (or an I4) equipped crossover these days. Those who want a Hemi MAY switch to a Camaro rather than a Corvette, since that is the closest competitor to all those Hemi-engined cars. The trucks will probably stay, albeit with a TT v6. One question: How reliable are the HEMI engines compared to the Chrysler 3.5 v6? I may be wrong, but it seems that a lot of owners would rev the HEMIs so hard that the engine (or something related like the transmission) might wear out prematurely.
  2. Cadillac certainly NEEDS to replace their current XT vehicles ASAP. The cars can stay as is for another couple of years since it seems everybody wants to buy a crossover instead of a sedan these days.
  3. A new fact of life: smaller menus and higher prices for what is left in a lot of cases.
  4. The BMW drivers I understand. Their behavior has been that bad for at least 30 years now. Now the slow Acura/Lexus/Toyota driver seems to be a relatively new thing. I have not seen the slow driving behavior around here recently, if ever.
  5. Interesting. I saw a BMW 530e a few days back. I did not hear it coming or going. You know, E as in electric. As if that Bimmer was a Tesla.
  6. Bad spelling does make a defensible trademark. As for the names, I am not a fan but I am not hostile to those new names. I am glad that Cadillac is using names and NOT alphanumeric designations for their new EVs.
  7. Edison had a point in his day. He had a point when the GM EV1 was out on the streets. If this can be done cheaply, then maybe we as a society can quietly abandon fossil fuels for good. I do hope that these batteries can survive a Minneapolis/Saint Paul winter or three to be truly viable.
  8. I think we all wish we had our 20 year old bodies and metabolisms right now and for the next decade or three. Me included.
  9. A ticking sound in the engine of your Escalade when you start it up? It is pathetic that GM would claim that is normal! The 3800 in my Lucerne has NEVER done that. What are they doing? Why the weak excuses? Maybe there isn't one that can be had for such an affordable price. Relatively speaking.
  10. Competition is great. You would have to abolish all dealer agency laws in each state first. It is still difficult to shut down an underperforming dealership without a giant exit fee from the automaker, even now.
  11. That BMW SAV is ugly AF. Especially in that awful shade of green.
  12. And just think: so many people complain about quality in GM cars. . . . Tesla needs TQM more than GM does.
  13. It is rather easy to fall in love (or out of love) with a car that inspires so much passion in anyone.
  14. Why would anyone put a Rolls-Royce grill and front on a Chevy Monte Carlo? It's an insult to both RR and the MC.
  15. Wow. All those fights. For what exactly? The strange part was that the Cowboys-Raiders game had a two-man fight out of bounds in the third quarter. Both were ejected, of course. They may face suspensions too.
  16. Both the Encore GX and this CX-30 need a turbo 4cyl engine. The current engine seems too weak.
  17. In an era of FWD unibody crossovers, who would buy an expensive Volvo station wagon?
  18. I hope that once production actually starts, customers can get some affordable BEVs not just EV Hummers at $100K.
  19. The goals sound rather ambitious. Not sure if this will succeed. Time will tell.
  20. That is fine, but do they not realize that the tailpipe has moved to the power plant rather than the vehicle? Also, the House of Representatives should have passed this bill two months ago, rather than wait until now.
  21. I agree. New Escalade, please.
  22. Damaged rep because of a major design flaw? Change the Name with the new model. . . . again.
  23. I would NOT recommend that super panoramic sunroof option. Not enough structure or protection in case of a rollover accident.
  24. The Tundra does not matter to Toyota anywhere nearly as much as an F-series matters to Ford or the Silverado/Sierra twins matter to General Motors. As long as Toyota can sell upgraded Camry and Corolla models as RAV4 and Highlander models (at higher prices), Toyota will be just fine. The Tundra/4Runner simply do not matter to them in sales very much.
