BMW is also going to give Hydrogen another try with a new Hydrogen X5 CUV out in 2022 as a 2023 model with a new 374 HP Hydrogen power train. I question that this will go anywhere but they have a commitment with the German Government and Co-developed with Toyota who is paying for the research to deliver a working power train model with so many auto's to be built. Toyota is looking to use it in medium duty trucks which will help remove toxic diesel particles. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/03/30/bmw-hydrogen-technology-detailed/

HISTORY TIME - Very cool writeup on when SAAB actually tried to build Electric Auto, the SAAB Mail Delivery van from the 1970's during the oil crunch with the Arabs. Lots of pictures as it is in the official SAAB museum which went with the company when it was bought to become a pure electric auto company. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/03/30/saab-1970s-electric-van/

Very cool on how Ford is keeping the development moving forward for the Mustang Mach e. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2020/03/30/ford-mustang-mach-e-development-doesnt-stop-coronavirus/2925506001/ Love the way the new doors on the Mach e open. Round buttons are embedded in the B and C pillars to open the doors. Push the Disk and the door pops open 1.5 inches. Then you grab the door and pull it the rest of the way open. Front doors have a small hook as a grab-assist. Have to say the 58 photos at the link above really show the quality that Ford is putting into the Mach e. Excited for this auto to come out.

I have to disagree, I HATE Google and Amazon open space work area with all the noise and no privacy. I was at Legato which was bought out by EMC and we had the normal 5ft cubicle walls but every other cubicle was a different color as the company had 3 colors in their logo. They then had 4ft of clear plexi glass wall above so you could cut out the noise of the coworkers. All lights were day light equal indirect bulbs. So you had a sun equal bright work area with no direct harsh glare. It was great cause you could stand up, see people but the noise level was tolerable. I been in areas where you have sales folks and in an open concept, the noise is destructive as all those Alpha Sales peeps are talking louder and louder to be heard over everyone else. So for me, NO, I want walls and quiet. I loved my time at Microsoft as everyone had their own office, 450 sq ft of solitude and yet big open spaces in the center of the building for working with others when needed, plenty of meeting rooms, etc. There are better ways than the Google / Amazon cheap hell of open concept work space. Google and Amazon have started to build with clear Plexiglas office space that goes away from the open concept as at first it is very novel, but then the noise level makes it hard for many to concentrate. The open concept was very 1960's dictator type management and it has not worked as studies show productivity goes down. I wish you all the best when you go back in as I suspect in a few months after you been there, noise levels and distractions will affect over all productivity. Great deals and it does help with focus and removal of distractions as you go into work mode, sit down and you are away from your house distractions even when in your own house. Always good to have an office. Your back yard is big enough, consider adding another room as an office setup for you to optimize your work and have a door to the back yard so you can step out when it is nice to take a break.

My wife is Korean, I went to college in Japan and Park Min Young is Korean actress, singer and Model, Triple threat who I discovered in the K-Drama "City Hunter" which I highly recommend. Good fun action show with cliff hanger endings. A good weekend marathon to watch the series on NetFlix or any of the streaming services. FYI, Amazing how long the legs look as she is only 5'4" tall.

BING added a tracking site pulling data from WHO and John Hopkins. Really like how it lets you burrow down into the data and easily back up. One of the best I have seen so far. https://www.bing.com/covid?form=COVD07

Picked up medicine orders and food for the parents and as I was driving to their house, an AMG 4 door sedan with clearly an aftermarket exhaust due to the noise went flying by me and about a mile down the freeway it was pulled over by Washington State Patrol. Just cause we are all asked to stay at home and most are, does not mean there is a reduced police presence on the road. Crazy idiots.

Genesis News: 2021 Genesis G80 Packs New Styling, Two Turbo Engines
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
Interior is excellent better than anything I have seen lately from the Germans, French or Italians and clearly a step above what Americans are building. Cadillac and Lincoln need to get a clear cohesive interior design that is elegant but not bling overly flashy and just chaotic in design. Exterior is nice, yet clearly mimics everything done by everyone else already. -

Totally respect what you and @oldshurst442 have said about your fathers. I grew up with a father that said tools never fail, you only fail if you do not learn and take care of the tools to take care of you. Learned to do electrical, plumbing, yards, etc. nothing I could not do as my parents would buy a house, move in, fix it up and then a few years later move onto another project. As such, when I bought my foreclosed home in 1999, I gutted it and redid everything from the roof to insulation, plumbing, electrical, sheet rock, taping, mudding, etc. The only things I paid to have done on the house was the following due to not wanting to destroy my own body or it really is a special skill to get it right. Flooring / Carpeting paid to have it done. Kitchen cabinets and counters, real skill to get it square and perfect. Windows, due to being a split level house, easier to pay someone to bring in the scaffolding and put in the windows. Helped my dad do enough growing up that I can pass on that. Commercial grade steel rebar 6" thick cement driveway The rest of the house was me, so confident I can pretty much do anything though as I get older, easier to pay the younger folks to do the heavy lifting.

Squirrels are the problem here, so once I have everything ready, I then put up a green plastic fence for keeping the squirrels out. No dear in this area, too suburban and no rabbits either here.

We both know that Toyota never had any style, but the engine tech is cool for the time.

Seems the current Coronavirus statistics are just showing it getting worse: 123,000 plus infected 2,200 plus dead 3,200 plus recovered Washington state showed on the news a graph showing for us the last week of April / First week of May will be the high point of Infections, deaths, etc. for Coronavirus. I hope they are right as the corona sites are showing things a bit uglier. The New York Times posted the graphs of how the tracking sites are showing it here for the US. If it truly hits this hard, it will be a sad time for us and the world as many places are already being hit harder. Just lost the Local Mom and Dad who started Kona Kitchen, a Hawaiian dinner focused on Authentic Hawaiian food. She was 72 and he was 76 both were healthy with no immunity issues or other medical issues like asthma or diabetes, but they both in continuing to serve take out meals caught the virus and died this week. RIP to all those that have been lost to the Coronavirus.

This sucks, but is not unexpected. Saw tonight on the news that the last week in April / First week of May is to be the highest point of infections and deaths before we slowly come down in this country. Summer is not going to be as carefree as many think, but a time of healing and reflection. 123,000 plus infected 2,200 plus dead 3,200 plus recovered We have a long road ahead of us. Hopefully this fall can be an exciting time for new auto's, job growth and recovery. Now is not it and I truly hope everyone gets through the next few months safely. Look forward to next years auto shows.
