What does everyone think of do-it-yourself paint protection? Is it a job you would consider doing yourself or do you think it is something best left to the professionals? Hi everyone, I was just reading a post on the future of EVs in off-roading and four-wheeling circles and was left wondering what Jeep owners and enthusiasts think (see here for the article: http://auto-trim.org/2013/12/24/offroading-in-an-ev/). Will this catch on anytime soon? There's no question that the benefits for the environment are there but the tech is not quite ready yet. In addition there is the recent prediction form the US Dept of Energy that states that most cars on the road by 2040 will still use gas. So, is it just wishful thinking to assume that sooner rather than later we will be getting Jeeps and rock crawlers which are true EVs?

Thanks for the encouragement but it certainly does look like a tough one to crack. It's weird too considering that Kia (not Hyundai) was the first Korean passenger car maker. I'm sure there's a lot more information in Korean but, unfortunately, that's one language I don't read.

So, I just completed a post on Squidoo which is intended to be a brief history of Kia but I'm not really satisfied with it. I have used a few different sites including Wikipedia but just can't find a lot of information on the brand, especially from founding in 1944 to 1974 when the Brisa was made. Hey everyone I hope your Tuesday's going well. We just got a bunch of rebate submission photos of a precut headlight kit installed on a 2002 Mini so, naturally, I did a blog post and threw them up on YouTube. If you take a look you'll see our customer (who now has tinted headlights and received a $20 rebate refund on his purchase) hand-trimmed the headlight tints because they are normally designed to cover the entire light. Not my cup of tea but he did a nice job. Hey everyone, There's a thread on Gearhead Central about using N2 in your tires. Supposedly there is evidence that it reduces deflation from seepage and can give you a 1% gain on MPG overall. The claim is that the N2 is larger than O2 but just looking at the Period Table you see that N has a weight of 7 and O has a weight of 8. These gases are diatomic so that means N2 weighs in at 14 and molecular oxygen at 16.From the weights at leat it seems that oxygen might be the bigger molecule so it should seep less. Then again it's been awhile so there may be more to this than meets the eye (think VSEPR theory). Thoughts anyone?

At present we offer a smoke, and a blackout smoke only. We used to carry a dark and light smoke but the variation was so slight as to be useless. Hope you had a happy turkey day!

So, I have been doing a little research and it seems that the consensus is that four-point harnesses should NOT be used in regular cars that don't have roll bars and where the driver isn't wearing a helmet. I have just revised our product descriptions on our site to include these details but then I read that this may not be the case. What are your thoughts? Have you ever used four or five point harnesses in non-race cars?
