  1. Does anyone here have experience with installing and using racing seats? We have been revamping our catalog and I have no real experience with them. Currently we have harnesses and seats in the same category (because it seems to make sense) and although I know harnesses should only be used in race cars for safetly purposes I don't think the same is true for seats. If you guys wouldn't mind taking a look at these product pages and let me know what you think I would appreciiate it: http://www.rvinyl.com/Chevrolet-Racing-Seats-Harnesses.html Is it clear that race harnesses ARE NOT for daily commuter use? As much as we want to sell product we don't want anyone to get hurt. Can the same be said for seats? All my research says no but I want to be sure. Thanks and I look forward to your feedback.
  2. Great! This is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks!
  3. Yeah, they look cool but I have no idea how they will work.
  4. Has anyone had any experience with installing these and using them? Here is an example: http://www.k2motor.com/spec-d-2-inch-meter-oil-temp.html I have heard that they are one too accurate. I'm also looking to find wiring and mounting how-tos so I can learn how to install these bad boys myself.
  5. NIce. Thanks fpor the pic. ANyone have a photo of the Dodge Blacktop?
  6. According to Chrysler's own, in-house press release site and Auto Trim (http://auto-trim.org/2013/11/22/2014-chrysler-300s-a-factory-black-out-theme/) the 2014 Chrysler 300S is slotted to come with an optional, blacked out exterior. Highlights include a gloss black roof, gloss black belt line and blackened head and tail light beels for a so-called toughened look. NO idea what this all really means, however, as their were no images provided. Anyone have any information on this? I'm excited to see images if anyone has them.
  7. More of those new, Lexus grilles here: https://www.facebook.com/Rvinyl/posts/463866773722335?ref=notif&notif_t=like
  8. There seems to be a general movement towards abhorrent grilles and silly front fascias that's not confined to the Japanese alone. Take the Ford Edge concept that has been under discussion. Ugh....I don't think we'll see this design element go away anytime soon.
  9. Has anyone else taken a look at the pres release fro tne Lexus LF-NX crossover concept. Here's a link if you haven't seen it yet: http://pressroom.toyota.com/releases/lexus+2013+tokyo+motor+show+lf-nx+advanced+crossover+concept.htm Overall it is one of the must visually interesting concepts I've seen inn some time and the headlight styling is superb. Aggressive lines and an athletic stance make it a real stunner. But...the front grille needs to go. It appears overly large and cartoonish. According to Toyota "it is a strong interpretation of the Lexus spindle grille" but in this case there must have been a problem in translation. Anyway, thoughts? Do you guys think we'll ever actually see this on the toad or at a dealership?
  10. Excellent review. I am consistently surprised and pleased by the quality of writing around here. Anyway, enough of that and back to the point: I'm actually a fan of the first generation's styling. Don't get me wrong, I still think that the latest model 300s are great looking but if I had to choose (based on looks alone) I would go with the 2005 model year. You mentioned that the interior dash materials were soft to the touch. Does that mean they aren't using hard, ABS plastics? Is it still the orange peel texture stuff or is it more like a rubberized foam? Anyway, thanks again and I look forward to reading more.
  11. The smoke http://www.rvinyl.com/tint-film/!/Smoke-Tint-Film.html would be about the right darkness I believe but if you don't feel up to it there are also replacement tail lights in smoke here: http://www.rvinyl.com/Custom-Tail-Lights-LT-G605JM-TM.html. Spec-D generally makes good plug and play Altezza-style lights but this is only an option if you want to change from the stock look. Hope this helps!
  12. Yes, there are a number of legal issues but the law is so hazy that it really depends not only on your state but even on your municipality.I have, for some time, been trying to put together a database of laws but have been stymied by the sheer number of laws.
  13. I just finished a post here http://ford-tail-light-tint.blogspot.com/2013/11/smoked-tail-lights-how-and-where-to-do.html detailing the different options available for those of you looking or considering tinting your head loghts and tailights. Take a look and let me know what you think.
  14. We're excited to launch American Car Craft's catalog of great stainless steel and chrome accessories on our site. I think their products would do well here as there's not much fluff (unlike the ABS caliper covers which I posted last week I think). Come check out our hard work. I posted in our blog here: http://blog.rvinyl.com/2013/11/14/rvinyl-launches-american-car-craft-catalog/
  15. Does anyone have any sneak peeks of what the exterior/interior will look like? Any major styling updates?
  16. Hey everyone just wanted to drop by and post a link to the latest "How To" I've posted on Hbbpages: http://rvinyl.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Install-Precut-Headlight-Protection-Kits I will be re-editing all of these and posting them in the Guides section of our site shortly but I actually want to get this out there as a reouce now. Also, is there a better place to post How-to's then here? So, check out the instructions and the protection kits here: https://www.rvinyl.com/Headlight-Protection.html
  17. We've just launched a line of Brembo style, plastic caliper covers on our site. We have carried MGP covers for years but wanted to give our customers a lower price point and a different look. As a result we have begun to carry ABS Caliper Covers which you can find here: http://www.rvinyl.com/store/c/371029-1997.html We've come up with a detailed install video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drh_DbLw6VU&feature=youtu.be and you can see step-by-step instructions here: http://rvinyl.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Install-ABS-Plastic-Caliper-Covers
  18. The guys at American Car Craft just sent me over new product photos on Friday. I put together a little compilation video of them so everyone could get a better, slightly more exciting look. The spears are cool but I'm really impressed by the taillight trim. Let me know what you think.
  19. Hey everyone, Spent the better part of the morning making a step by step guide on how to install aftermarket tail lights on a 1998 through 2005 Lexus GS300 or GS400. I find that Hubpages is the easiest to use compared to e-how or Wikihow so I've posted it here: http://rvinyl.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Install-LED-Tail-Lights-on-a-1998-2005-Lexus-GS300GS400 The install is kind of involved so expect to take at least an hour from prep to clean u but the results will be great. We offer these tail lights by Spec-D in red LED or smoked LED but these instructions will work for any brand. I've also made two versions of the video here: Let me know what you think.
  20. We offer white vinyl wraps for pretty cheap. I don't want to run afoul of the TOS but I have discussed making a diso#### code available for members of the site to www.rvinyl.com. If you're interested, PM me and I will send you a code for 15% off the wraps.
  21. Not sure where to put this since there isn't a DIY mod or customization sub-forum so apologies if this is miscategorized. A new product we're developing is custom rim wraps and, from what I can find on the interwebs this looks to be a pretty popular thing: http://customized-wheels.blogspot.com/2013/10/custom-rim-wraps.html So, what are everyone's thoughts? Would you wrap your rims or would you go with chrome or aluminum rims? I think there is so much more room for personalization (if you check that link above you'll see a company that did a set of custom camo wrapped rims) with vinyl wraps but maybe that's my bias.
  22. Ooh, Asian Buick. I rented a Sonata a few years back in Hawaii and was impressed. It's nice to hear that the Genesis did well. I suppose this is how pedigrees are born.
  23. What does everybody think about the Cruze Eco? Does it run on the same platform as the Malibu?
  24. The Avalon has always seemed like a boondoggle to me and the comparison to Buick seems apt. We debuted a dash kit for the first gen Avalon way back and it sold maybe 3 times in as many years. Consider that next to the literally thousands of Corolla dash kits we sold. It seems to me to be a case of too little, too late for the Avalon.
  25. Great article! It seems that Honda has lost its way in this brave, new world. I remember the insight briefly but since then I haven't really heard much of interest from Honda in regard to green tech.
