Song #4 was produced by Phil. There many familiar Genesis/Phil Collins elements in that song. I think that Genesis was doing there own thing with Peter Gabriel at the helm, especially with Gabriel and after Gabriel, when Phil kinda took over the music direction and set pop trends in the 1980s. I love 1980s pop. But Im no fool to think that it aint what Im complaining about today's music. It was. But there are many 1980s pop stars that set the musical trends for everyone else to follow. Prince, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson to name a couple are such of those pop stars. Frida and Abba. Im not very familiar with their trends. I do not know if they were creators and were not the emulators. But I also know that Abba was pretty big. Now...was it junk? Well, it certainly was kinda like junk food like BBQ chips...sure. But pure junk? I dunno. Not being sarcastic. I really do not know. I could say with ease, glam rock group Poison was junk. I love their music. Still do. But junk. One reason why rock faded away was because of too many music producers were rolling out groups like Poison. Im not trying to school you Balthy. Im just wanting to confirm to you that I understand you and where you are coming from.

That is also true. However, those leaders that have maintained those constants in our society that seem to be working fine are now gonna be called upon to restore them back. Along with new blood to help and reboot. So...Im not really worried about that all that much. Im actually looking forward to the reboot. Those unbroken things have also become very complacent in our lives. A good reboot will do us all good.

Were you mesmerized by Frida's vocals and Phil's drums like I was in #4? LOL
-
Plus Ill give you upvotes too! Because of your willingness to exercise your freedoms of choice...of not to click on them. And as these latest posts have been made, and with @dfelt's GnR song choice, I have been whisked away from the Phil Collins kick and unto something you might appreciate even less. LOL ( because of all the freedom talk Ive done since this morning and its in the title...plus he is Greek)
-
It hasnt subsided. All morning long I was listening to Frida's I know there is something going on, over and over and over again. I couldnt get enough of her "I know there is something going on" vocals and Phil's drums and electronic voice accompaniment. Now Im doing Against All Odds and Invisible Touch. It looks like you dont appreciate his musical genious...which is fine, so Ill spare you the links as I wont post them. LOL

Parakalo/Grazie Yes. You are correct. 25th of March in 1821 was the day that Greeks started fighting against their Ottoman oppressors. (Turkish occupation). We were slaves to them. Eleftetheira i Thanatos (Freedom or Death) was our motto. This was not about independence as its commonly said that its Greek Independence Day and it was not a revolt as its said in the history books that we revolted against the Ottomans. This was about our FREEDOM FROM the Ottoman empire. We were ALWAYS independent. So independent in fact, that during the ancient times, we were all about City-States... Its about our FREEDOM. Its really Freedom Day and NOT independance day. Religiously, the 25th of March is also the Annunciation to the Theotokos of when the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary that she will bear the Son of God. Our Freedom fight started when the Bishop Germanos of Patras raised the Flag for our Freedom over the Monastery of Agia Lavra. So...our freedom day was calculated to start with the news that the Virgin Mary was to be the bearer of Our Saviour. As far President Trump's Proclamation for a National Day...on the 25th of March. I think he did that to RECOGNIZE Greece and their national day. 25th of March for Greece is EXACTLY what the 4rth of July is. He ties in what Greece (Hellas represents in human history) to the Great Nation that is the USofA with an economic and military strategic alliance in Europe with Greece for 2020 and beyond. Against Turkey, Russia, China etc... Greece did sell a portion of their Athenian Port of Piraeus to China during the 2008-2009 crisis. Greece needed to do this for financial survival since Britain, Germany and France were strangling Greece...but as we know...China aint nobody's friend, yet Europe shat on Greece, so Greece did what she had to do to survive to her detriment...and to Europe's...But at least Trump has realized very early in his Presidency...of the few things he has got right, that that was a BIG blunder for Europe to let Greece rot like they did only to find a friend that is not so friendly. Hey...maybe China will be a better friend to Greece than what Europe has been... President Reagan started this and President Trump finally completed it. Sorry for the history lesson. But I am proud of being Greek. Of Being Canadian. And almost being American as well!!!

That Ferrari/FCA thing Ill tackle another day. While its true that Ferrari is no longer part of Fiat ownership...its a recent thing...but Its OK...what was bugging me more than that comment will also be addressed by what I got to say now. Your comment that I have in bold always sat rough with me. I had a bad taste in my mouth reading it. But I wasnt sure how I was going to tackle it. And then...I got to read this comment you made in another thread. The Random Thoughts Thread Your bolded comment in that one had me puzzled because in the linked quote you decided to use...PRAISES Ford's engineering prowess... So your original comment: Had me seething... literally!!! I just didnt know how I would rebuttle. I didnt have any way or knowledge to counter you with. Until now! https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a31917145/ford-respirators-coronavirus-covid-19/ You mean to tell me....that Ford could come up with an INGENIOUS way to engineer a ventilator mask using parts bin parts that could be used almost anywhere easily and it could mass produce it easily all on a short, VERY short time frame to come up with an idea like that, engineer it, engineer a way to mass produce it, build the production line for it and finally to get it all done...yet they CANT and dont know to get cows that roam free without fences so their hides could be perfect, they dont know how to make that hide super soft and stitch it with French stitches? They cant make it all fit and finish like a Bentley either? Yet they could engineer ventilator masks on a whim though... Now you know why I was seething with your comment. You are proud that American companies come up with awesome ways to help not only Americans, but the whole bloody planet in times of need, yet you shun them with the same intensity. I asked you... BEAN COUNTING has been a problem... THAT is what you see with American cars in the past. Especially during the malaise era. American know how is second to none. Dont confuse the two. American bottom line capitalism is what killed Lincoln and Cadillac. But let me tell you something...FoMoCo and GM engineering is WORLD CLASS!!! Looking at the new Navigator's interior and how Cadillac is gonna do the new Escalade... And seeing how Ford is leading the charge with these ventilators... I WILL VEHEMENTLY DEFEND FORD AND GM AGAINST YOUR ARGUMENT UNTIL THEY ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!- 282 replies

Im waiting for the 1/18 scale to be released. There is a company that is selling. Its a resin model meaning its a sealed model, meaning the doors, hood, trunk, etc dont open. Its not a die cast metal model. But resin plastic. Usually, resin models are very precise and very detailed with the exception of them being sealed, they are awesome. But this C8 model from Top Speed, there is something off putting about it. The link is from a local hobby shop. Availability date: 3rd April https://passiondiecast.com/en/coming-soon/10805-chevrolet-corvette-stingray-c8-2020-black-top-speed-118-ts0283.html I may hold off on it as I dont like the colour either, I wouldnt want it in black. They do make a red one, it looks nicer, but none of the local hobby shops seem to be wanting to sell it. Actually, the only local hobby shop to advertise the C8 is this one...and only in black... I think the company AutoArt will come out with one too. Im praying actually. They have gone resin as well with their current stuff, but I think if AutoArt comes out with a C8, it might be the Z06 (or equivalent) that they will offer. I will just be patient. I dont think Ill buy this one. And I think my collection will be officially done with the addition of a C8 Corvette.

We are saying the same thing! And yes...we as in in Canada, Spain, the US...we are all testing more and we are finding out that more of us are infected. No symptoms... The thing is, I think, is that some if us will react to it very violently, and for those that will react very violently, if we have some sort of weakness, we will suffer and worse case scenario, die. The myth that young folk dont suffer, is well a myth. The myth has started because most older folk die from it. Because being older MAY mean that the older person has some sort of weaker immune system, or whatever and that is why they perish. Younger folk are usually more fit and have stronger immune systems than babies and older folk. And we misinterpret that as to say that young folk are invincible.... Young folk could and do suffer from Covid-19. And Im sure there have been some young folk to die from it too. Those that their bodies could not fight it. And THAT is what it boils down to. Covid-19 is deadly to those with weak immune systems or respiratory problems. ESPECIALLY those with respiratory problems. PS: Not everybody will suffer from it. Some will. Some wont. If you have some sort of respiratory problem, God help you.

Yes! 100% Hopefully. But staying home does NOT defeat it. It helps to curb the transmissions and easing the hospitalizations and therefore giving the nurses and doctors a chance to breathe a little (pun intended) while taking care of the folk that are really having a hard time coping with it.
-
Yup....so many variables indeed. Congested cities like NYC and its boroughs will differ with the transmissions risks than say...I dont know...Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Or Chibougamau Quebec. Chibougamau, Quebec The point I wanna make to compliment Balthy's is that the US and Canada have MANY wide open spaces, other than the big cities, so...maybe calculating infected per square inch on a country scale for Canada and the US might not be an accurate one.

With low oil prices again, and we dont know how long the Saudis want to do this, and Ive heard the Saudis wanna keep it low for a good long while, Im willing to bet that EV sales are gonna be shyte in the short term. The only thing that will save EVs this time around is that countries are not gonna budge on the banning of ICE vehicles. Or at the very least, the countries wont lax on the emissions regulations. I say, GM better keep the Camaro alive with its V8 because I might go crazy with this Covid-19 thing and maybe I spin into a mid-life/Covid-19 crisis and buy me-self a ZL-1 Camaro, ship it to Trans Am Depot and they fix me up good. Like this one. Exactly like this one down below!!!- 282 replies

GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Gotcha! One question. You think that Cadillac or Lincoln arent capable because dont have the expertise or because they arent willing? Remember that Chrysler has merged with Fiat. Maserati and Ferrari. So...do you think that Chrysler aint capable either or not willing? Are we gonna shyte on Ferrari for FCA if you think FCA aint capable? I just wanna know where you really stand on the issue. Its still a tad vague for me. Having no expertise versus not willing are two different things. What is your reasoning for your opinion?- 282 replies

GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Yes. That is what boutique manufacturing and boutique manufacturers are. A customer buys a Ferrari, Rolls, Bentley, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maybach trim Mercedes S Class, certain Porsche 911s and higher end Porsches, Black Label Lincolns, etc... and the customer gets to customize, personalize their vehicle. Rolls and Bentley go beyond that. Rolls will produce ANY colour you want. And will put that colour on ANYTHING you want. They would even paint a scale model version of your car. They will even taylor you a suit with said colour choice or vice versa. Take your favorite suit colour and duplicate it for your car. You would like Coca-Cola's red can colour as a paint job for your Rolls, they will do it. For a huge fee, but they will do it. And of course the quality of the materials are top notch. Why the hell not? You are paying for it through the nose... You pay for what you get... And all that is handmade as much as handmade could be. Well...the Celestiq will be handmade... The Celestiq's boutique experience is not yet revealed as to how and what will be personalized and to what extent and what kind of quality of materials will be used. For all we know... Blue Whale penis skin could be used as a material for the doors and dash and koala and panda bear fur could be used for the carpet and headliner. Shark skin with touches of bald eagle feathers could be used for the seats and headrests. Point being, we dont know details...yet we are being very judgemental. Point being, I would think that Cadillac folk have learned their lessons by now. Johan wasnt all that bad. He probably told the beancounters to phoque off. Mary Barra probably listened to the harsh criticisms Johan must have had with the CT6. After all, he did criticize very publicly the CT6, and by retreating the CT6's statuts as THE top dog Cadillac status that the previous admin was saying about the it... And, looking at how GM responded with the Corvette C8 and the Escalade (maybe as we havent really seen it, but it looks to deliver like the C8 does...I dont get why we should be as harsh towards the Celestiq. I mean...I get why...the malaise era is why. But on the flip side...the Corvette C8 and 2021 Escalade and the 2020 CT4 V and CT5 V say that GM has FINALLY kicked that bad habit.- 282 replies

I didnt know whether to laugh because it was funny, or an upvote because its true. We are WORSE than damn dirty apes. Apes could be more civil to each other than we are towards our own kind. Apes respect other animals....we dont. We respect nothing. We could also be more filthy than apes. And apes play with their feces... I get truly disgusted with humans sometimes. The one genre of music that Im not a big fan of, but I do have some favorites spanning from the '50s-'90s is country. But I was deeply saddened just now. I just found out that Kenny Rogers died. RIP. And then there is Ghetto Superstar, that is what you are...or something like that. I never liked the Dolly Parton duo song, nor this sampled version, but it this version is something that I have fond memories with...

no I got a drive-thru. I recently renovated, maybe 5-6 years now, and we made a drive-thru. We were fed up with people bitchin' about us not having a drive-thru. And the reno paid itself off in no time as in no time, the drive-thru accounts for 50-60% of our sales. And...with this virus thing, we have closed the restaurant and only serve people with the drive-thru.- 282 replies

GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Yup This is the new norm. I see exactly that in my restaurant. Not only with paying for their food that sometimes the internet is down and they have to pay cash and cash payments for them are too slow... but some of them are impatient of the actual time it takes to cook their burger on the damned grill... Yeah...because Im like a mom and pop shop in that I dont precook a zillion burgers ahead of time. Our burgers are made to order and it takes 5-7 minutes to cook a phoquing burger and THAT apparently is too long... Freshly made on the spot and yet that aitn good enough... Meaning...what YOU are observing about people wanting faster is and outs...well...those types that are impatient like that could... As a society, we aint heading in the right direction being shytty like that.... But as @smk4565 replied to you:- 282 replies

I just saw that... Huracan and a 911 GT2? A GT2? THAT is a track focused, top of the line Porsche. It costs 300 000 dollars. A Huracan is also 250 000. The Lambo has got a 550 some odd HP... You are really phoqued in the head.... PS...the Vette engineers benchmarked the GT2. The Z06 is gonna be launched. WHEN it beats the performance numbers of the GT2 RS...what are you gonna say then? And even if the Z06 comes close but does not beat the GT2 RS, but has a price tag lwess than half of the GT2 RS...what are you gonna say? A GT RS is 300 000 dollars....the Z06 will be around 120 000... You really are phoqued in the head...- 282 replies

GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
So why are you comparing a 100 000 dollar top of the line AMG with a BASE Vette? That is almost double the price. And dont forget the 170 HP and 200 ft/lbs of torque MORE on it. Also...its an AMG. Its a tuned car tuned for...ultimate performance by a PERFORMANCE arm of Mercedes... The Vette...is a BASE Corvette STRAIGHT from the factory. No enhancements of ANY kind. "Crappy" factory exhaust. "Crappy" factory engine tuning meant to appease insurance companies, EPA, reliability for daily driven duties and track use, except it aint a full on track car. "Crappy" factory tires meant for public streets and highways that should last at least 50 000 miles of normal daily driving in normal weather, including rain, for what they are worth as sports car tires for the street that also cater to road noise inside the cabin. "Crappy" factory brakes. Notice "crappy" is in quotations... " " These are still the BASE FACTORY stuff on the BASE Corvette. BASE price of 59 995. Z51 I think starts at 64 995. That would be the BASE track Stingray. That post....its like you turned a 180 degree turn.. Dont forget, the C8 Corvette has another 2 levels to go. A Z06 equivalent and a ZR1 equivalent. And those are CONFIRMED by Chevrolet. The Z06 will soon be revealed in the coming months. June, July.... The Corvette ALWAYS punched above its price tag. And NOW...there is LITERALLY NOTHING ANYBODY could whine about the C8. ALL the things that the whiners complained about the Corvette's "shortcomings" all have been addressed and fixed. There is a new one...no manual transmission... You cant please everybody. Phoque-em! Regardless... The C8 Corvette shows what GM can do. What Cadillac could do. What Chevy already does. The C8 Corvette is PROOF that the beancounters no longer impose cheapness and the C8 Corvette shows where GM's strategy and future product is at... This of course is my opinion and you are entitled to yours. But when you discuss with me....keep things equal and level. I do that. You SHOULD do it too.- 282 replies
