  2. The Hellcats and Demons are practically collector cars now. The Last Call Editions are not built yet, and yet we could sense, well...me at least...that these cars are collector cars NOW. There are a few cars when produced, we kinda know that they will eventually become legendary and collectable. And these very wild in name and in horsepower LX cars are one of the rare cases that we KNOW. I was but a teenager, 14 years old in 1987 and I KNEW the Buick GNX was a future classic. We all knew. When Porsche introduced the Carrera GT to the world, we all knew that the car is going to be a classic as SOON as it rolls off the assembly line. And the LX cars with the outrageous names and power numbers are of that same breed. There is no denying it. You saw it coming as SOON as Dodge released the 1st Hellcat in 2015... Dodge sold quite a few of these Hellcats. In Challenger form. And in other forms too. And it dont matter. Sometimes a collector car classic being valuable has NOTHING to do with rarity. But in ANY case of being a valuable collector car, there must be something about the car that people think of it in the future for those people to lust after it IN the future. And the outrageous versions of these LX cars have that something special. Right now and IN the future. Nostalgia....with the LX cars... Its nostalgia, with the fact that these are the LAST OUTPHOQUINGRAGEOUS internal combustion engined cars ever to be produced. And THAT is one powerful statement to own for the future of collectability for these cars...
  3. Thanx for sugeesting it. I didnt know a movie (documentary) of this tragedy existed. And yes I am very interested to get informed more of what may ior may not have have happened. Fortunetaly, I have stayed waaaaay clear of the lunacy. There are only a couple of scenarios that I think happened in my mind. Ill share. 1. Accident. Pilot error or catatrophic failure and the airplane just fell into the water. I am aware of some of the details of the mysterious ways it lost contact. 2. Missile strike. From whom? Well...I am not the one to indulge in conspiracy theories, but a missile strike is a very possible reality espiecially with all the murky details but its the whom part that is more murkier than anything else. The way world politics have been since the beginning of the 2000s, many a rogue politicians and governments and factions have appeared and it could be any a myriad of those kinds of loons... 3. Not knowing anything more about the details than just the basics, I also feel like it could be pilot suicide that sent hundreds to their deaths. It has happened before and the mysterious ways of loss of contact is consistant enough with a pilot suicide. But these are just MY conspiracy theories.
  4. Only young, pretty people should be having sex.
  5. Yeah. I hear ya on that. Im not into these Last Call editions either. With the sole exemption of the Black Ghost. I feel as though the Black Ghost should have been the SOLE ‘Last Call’ edition and as the legend goes: an unknown street car racer would show up from time to time at a street race, blow the doors off everyone and then disappear into the night. The legend is a fitting last call edition to send off these cars. But, Dodge somehow needs to milk this. To be fair to Dodge, there are many fans of these cars so they should milk it. Im not of this fanhood that needs ‘Last Call’ validation models to see them go off into the sunset. Like you, I view them as marketing bullshyte. Although the Swinger edition could have been a version Id like had I been a Boomer of a certain age in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s doin’ certain lifestyle activities to evoke that name. But imagine sll these Boomers now, all wrinkley like raisins still engaging in that swinger lifestyle. YUCK!!!
  6. No they are not. When...all these things I mentioned will boil over and it turns out to be negative for Tesla...their stock value will lower considerably. It already has gone down considerably. Dont also forget that Tesla's value is more based on speculation on what shyte comes out of Musk's mouth. His over-promises has skyrocketed Tesla's value. But his under-delivery has also made Tesla's value drop like no other in history too. Tesla value dropped soooo much in January. And investor's have made it clear that they dont accept Musk bullshyte no longer. It remains to be seen what Tesla stock value will be by Dec. 2023... Jan 2023 https://www.npr.org/2023/01/06/1146941980/tesla-shares-elon-musk-twitter-electric-cars Dec. 2022 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-12-07/tesla-tsla-stock-slump-investors-frustrated-by-elon-musk-twitter-distraction#xj4y7vzkg Like I said...Tesla's luck and charm WILL run out. Just a matter of time if Musk doesnt fix himself and his company that he chiefs over. Means nothing. Like I said...in the car making business...it takes CONTINUAL amounts of billions. And it takes investors and loans to finance NEW models. It takes business plans to secure loans and investments from investors. And it takes prrof that you have cars in demand. Tesla cars are SLIDING in demand. Tesla had to resort to OLD DETROIT ways of doing business. And that is to slash prices. In China...all that did was make its competitors to do the same. Dude...LEGACY automakers have been down that road many many MANY times in THEIR 100 plus year history. Nothing new to GM, VAG or Ford. Toyota has never had to do something THAT drastic, but Toyota knows how to deal with that kind of thing. https://www.theverge.com/2023/1/25/23571618/tesla-q4-2022-earnings-revenue-profit-prices-demand GM has had 100 plus years of business. Banks and investors KNOW when to trust GM and when NOT to. Investors are finding out that Musk is a blowhard used car salesman... See how THAT turns out for Musk when Musk will need billions upon billions to get a 2nd gen Model S and Model 3 and Model Y... In 5 years...GM will have 30 NEW EV models to sell... Tesla will STILL be peddling ANCIENT Model S and Model 3 and Model Y. Ford sells 1 million F150s ALONE. Not. A. Chance. VAG is on the verge of letting loose their OWN 30 NEW EV models to compete with...GM. LOL. Toyota is behind... But BECAUSE Musk is such a bullshytting used car salesman, Toyota EV will have surpassed Tesla's in about 5 years... Everyone thinks that Toyota lags in EV tech. They dont. They have the hybrid thing all figured out by far from everyone else. They WILL figure out to do EV specific platforms. They know about batteries and EV motors. Not hard to catch up. Toyota rabid fanboys are more plentiful than Tesla's, I worry not for Toyota. Tesla is NOT in a very good position right now. Hyundai, GM, VAG, Toyota, the Chinese EV brands, Stellantis, even FoMoCo after announcing they will lose 3 billion dollars this year in producing EVs look healthier in terms of stability than Tesla is...
  7. You do know that Tesla is pushing their luck, right? NHTSA is investigating Tesla for their autopilot baffoonery and fraud and if they DO find Tesla's autopilot AS fraud, then Tesla will more than likely be charged and found guilty of criminal negligence. And THAT is something no OTHER producer of cars has EVER faced. And THAT is saying a lot from all the shyte this industry has shat upon people 100 plus years ago... Some investors are suing Musk for involving Tesla with his Twitter purchase. THAT whole mess doesnt look good for Musk and consequently Tesla. And...between that Twitter thing and Musk's over-promising and under-delivering on many Tesla things, investors have startedto lose faith in Tesla slowly slowly. The longer Musk sits as CHIEF executive officer at Tesla, the more investors lose confidence in Tesla day by day ESPECIALLY when he opens up his shytty mouth.... Profits and billions of are one thing...but in the CAR making business many many MANY billiions are needed CONTINUOUSLY and if Tesla doesnt have the trust from investors or banks sometime in the near future...and its a very very real possibility...then they cant finance NEW models. And as you know...new models and the next star car is what keeps a car company alive... GM, Toyota and VAG have NO problems with that. And... All of those 3 companies at one time had lost trust from bankers and investors...and GM had to restructure through a bankruptcy...unfortunately for Tesla, Tesla is not as big as GM and therefore restructuring wont be a thing for them... Meaning...bye bye Tesla. And Tesla wont BE the first car company to go under to never return.
  8. The video of Airforce One in Ottawa, welcome to our country Mr. President...it took you long enough... Anyway, looking at the vdio of the Boeing airplane JUST by itself...AND...looking at the airplane AS Airforce One...BOTH are MAJESTIC the way the video is shown to us. I LOVE IT!!! 1. As THE Boeing 747 2. As Airforce One
  9. You are talking about the Challenger, right? There are so many cars mentioned above your post, Ive lost focus. I view the Challenger (Hellcat for me as its my favorite trim), not as a quarter mile queen, but as a top dog muscle car, and muscle cars is what I like mostly, and I also equate muscle cars as comfortable cruisers big enough to haul family stuff that make nice V8 sounds and go like stink when pressing on the 'go' pedal. A Mustang or Camaro or a Trans Am, which would be muscle cars too, but smaller ones in the pony car class, are too small for my tastes. A Challenger was and is a tad smaller than the mid size muscle car segment, but a tad bigger than the pony car segment. And since TRUE midsized and full sized muscle cars dont exist anymore, then the Challenger is the one that I drool over all else in the muscle car segment today. I love a Mustang and Camaro too. However, there exists 2 cars that are not really in THE muscle car class, mainly because of price, luxury. These 2 cars are mainly marketed in the LUXURY class and these 2 cars is what I really really like in 2023 besides a Challenger Hellcat. Yes...its a BMW. I would have preferred if the Cadillac was toned down in luxury a tad and marketed and sold as an Oldsmobile. Although I love a Cadillac, Im not a Cadillac type of guy. A Cadillac type of guy is like a 1%er. Im not that. Im a well educated, hard working blue collar type of guy that has done well financially for myself. And Oldsmobile fits THAT bill for me. And alas, Im not a prick either, so a BMW is a no go as well...
  10. Thanx to @David, I now know what colour that is. And it is a stunner. I like too!!! Agreed on all accounts! That shade of green would be great on an Escalade and the Lyriq. I agree.
  11. Subtle is a nice way to go. Especially the way the 300C SRT8 was in 2013. I agree!!! With me though, Id like to flash a little bit of the wild side.
  12. Id go for the original Hellcat hood. All black. Just 6 chromed Hellcat logos. 1 on each side of the front fenders and 4 on the wheels. The center caps. The mags from the original Chalenger Hellcat. Black mags. Wide body. And when I say all balck...I mean all black. Just the Hellcat logos are to be shiny and blingy chrome. That is it.
  13. Feels right at home, doesnt it???!!! Not forgetting its got German ancestry... Id say the ONLY good thing to come out of that merger is that we eventually got the Challenger, Charger and Chrysler 300 from Mercedes. Not forgetting the Magnum wagon. I often think about what it be like if the 300 got Hellcatted and the Magnum as well!. Id rock a Magnum Hellcat with a current gen Charger front end! Id definetely trade in my TL for a Hellcat 300 and to hell with Quebec gasoline prices. Id sell a kidney to finance the gas for one. LOL
  14. I have the same thoughts as you do. Nothing is clear about what actually happens to the Charger and Challenger. Im also under the impression that only the V8s are gone. I think the inline 6 will be the last gasoline engine to power Stellantis vehicles in North America until Stellantis in North America goes all EV. And that includes the Alfa Romeos both SUVs and the Quadrofolio sedan. Although I miss the V8s in the Mopar muscle cars already (and they are not gone just yet...), I am curious to see what kind of Challenger (andCharger) that inline 6 will make them into. Although Id prefer a lighter new platform Challenger (same size though) for the inline 6 to power, I am down with an inline 6 to them. And I agree with @smk4565. I dont think they are truly gone just yet. And like how he says it...as 6 cylinder models.
  15. You are not entirely wrong though... Stellantis has this new inline 6... Brand new. It hasnt debuted yet. But it will. They will put this engine into something and sell it like soon. Like in 2024 soon.
  16. I wanted to give a vote on this post. But I dont know which one to give. 1. I cant give an upvote because although I agree with the post. I dont also. I mean, I UNDERSTAND what you mean, I agree with you, but I dont as I, my wife really, doesnt mind a small FWD car... And THAT is where I dont agree. Not with the statement, I undersatand your statement, but I dont mind a small FWD car... 2. I cant give you a heart because...well...see above. 3. its not a negative vote... 4. Its not a Hell Yeah vote. Because obviously this kinda car could actually BE in my driveway. But not for ME. For my wife. Because for ME, I ALSO dont care a whole lot for a small car. I dont mind the FWD part though... 5. Its not a sad or confused vote... 6. Its not a great idea. Its not educational. Although it might be educational as we just educated ourselves as to how you feel about small FWD cars... 7. Its not a facepalm So its best not to vote? So this post gets an upvote instead... Depending how small it is, if its too small, then maybe my wife wont want it. For now, if we need to get a brand new EV...for her...its a Chevy Equinox EV. For me. NOTHING is out there that I would like to own. ICE or EV. Sure...a Challenger or Mustang is always nice. Those arent too usefull for my needs though. Maybe the Dodge Banshee/Charger EV that is still a concept might be the answer. Or Ill bight the bullet and get myself a CUV. The Mustang Mach-E.
  17. LOL Doesnt surprise me. As much as I have given shyte to Hyundai and Kia for theft problems stemming from corporate idiot decisions, Stellantis (Dodge) should know better to protect the these cars from theft as these cars have been on the hot list since at least 5 years now. And they still havent done anything to address to curtail some of the theivery done. Yes...I understand a thief will always find a way, a back door of sorts, but proof that Dodge has done nothing to curtail this problem as theives steal them straight from the dealership. Not good! Bible thumping Republican? Of Fox News swillin' morons? Nothing will arise. 1. hypocrites 2. too stupid to see the irony
  18. The only question left is, what version are you? I am THIS version!!! But if Im buying a Challenger for myself...I dont want or need a Last Call version. Nor a Demon. A regular Hellcat is what I always wanted and that hasnt changed since 2015. Ill go with a Red-Eye. Regular or widebody. Uniform body colour all the way through or black hood. No stripes. Original hood or twin snorkel. Prefer the twin snorkel hood though. In those 3 colours.
  19. I too...am DEEPLY dissapoint in the name. I understand the 'fun' reasons where the 170 number comes from, its just abnormally boring coming from Dodge. 1. The name is brain numbing boring 2. The reasons beind the name is even worse. 170 ethanol proof???!!! The phoque???!!! At least reason #2 is a tad more exciting as its the code number for the Hellephant crate engine: C170 But, its the name they chose and so Dodge will sell every Demon 170 they make and truth be told, it seems like any and EVERY Last Call Charger and Challenger will ALREADY have collector car status and most of them are not even built yet.
  20. Nah. Its lazy.
  21. Nah... its lazy journalism. Nah...its lazy. When the writer switches between 911 trims to determine the E-Ray to be better... Better in what? There are many 911 flavours and the ONE flavour that the Vette exists in...a hybrid, the 911 doesnt have one. Going back and forth of one Vette trim to take on a plethora of 911 trims cherry picking what the E-Ray does better is exactly THAT. LAZY. Its not subjective. Its biased. Aaaaaand...LAZY. When I say that automotive journalism should lax it against the hatred for American automobile, I dont mean blind faith in them because this journalism is the exact reverse of what I bitch about hatin' on American cars. We dont have to praise OUR cars by putting down foreign ones... And this article, although it doesnt put down a 911, it uses LAZY metrics to dawn the Vette E-Ray the winner. The winner of what? That the E-Ray is better? Better in what? A biased dumb metric based on reasoning JUST for the Vette to win? There was explaining of what the 911 is all about. People cross shopping the Vette and the 911 wouldnt buy the Vette or the 911 on NONE of this journalist's metrics. These metrics are just the journalists own personal views. Journalism is NOT about providing PERSONAL whims into play. THAT is just easy and lazy. Journalism provides FACTS. Not facts presented in a way to JUSTIFY a side. THAT is what that article does... Its OK... My view is what we say...subjective, maybe? You got that right. That journalist used his feelings to write about and therefore I could use mine as well to write my own journalistic point of view.... That journalist used nothing of fact to determine if the E-Ray is better. Just what he/she thinks is better. And I dont agree with that assessment. And Im allowed to. And I countered. And I wanted to show @David that wait a minute...the E-Rayis good. Excellent even. But...because the 911 is more expensive and the Vette is less expensive and does 90% of what the 911 does, THAT metric ALONE does NOT make the Vette to be a better choice. Its just in one metric. And the fact that the writer took SEVERAL 911s to prove that the E_Ray is better...just proves that the 911 is just a vehicle that has MANY trims that are lazer focused. The Vette is more of a Jack-Of-All-Trades sports car. NEITHER method is neither superior or inferior. But yeah...
  22. @David The first 8 minutes explains what the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is all about. The first 8 minutes should give you an idea how much engineering goes into the RS model over and beyond not only over the regular GT3, but ANY road legal track ready sports car. When somebody says the Corvette E-Ray is better than the Porsche 911, well...if you do pay attention to what and how the 911 GT3 RS is, then you'll realize quite quickly that the journalism is, like I said, lazy... On a side note, the guy said that the GT3 RS made a Nurburgring time of 6 minutes 49 seconds. The C8 Z06's time at the Nurburgring has not been set just yet. A set back on the course happened last year. BMW and Tesla crashed and their cars. Chevy is said to be back though. It is also said that the time for the C8 Z06 will BE under 7 minutes 100%. Some say it will be around the 6 minute 50 second mark. Not too bad either way... 1. The Porsche 911 lives on the Nurburgring. It is its home playground. Porsche spends and ENORMOUS amount of time and money to set records there. 2. The C7 Z06 didnt set an official time there either because of set backs on the track involving other cars and accidents. Yeah...the C8 too... But, the Corvette does not live there and the Corvette also has other playgrounds that it needs to play in. Like drag strips. 3. Corvette is a jack of all trades sports car. The 911 is a precision machine and the Nurburgring is where it operates. The Corvette operates at all kinds of racing digs. Drag racing, street light to street light and at the Nurburgring. For the C8 Z06 to get close to the 911 GT3 RS's time at the Nurburgring in its heavy GT luxury body is a testament of how good the Corvette engineers really are. But it still remains that the GT3 RS is still a scalpel. The E-Ray might be a great Corvette, but it all depends of what kind of comparison we want and what kind of 911 we want to talk about. Anyway...enjoy Jay Lenos garage. This episode is a great way to understand what the GT3 RS is without any fanboyism and without any positive or negative bias. The narrative is as truthful as it could be.
