Nice clean car. Im envious as no matter how good you take care of your vehicles in Quebec, use your car as a daily driver....and the ice and salt and thawing and freezing and potholes really screw your ride up! No way would a daily driver of 15 years look that good in Quebec. So making the kinds of mods you are doing will all be in vain...as the exterior would look like crap...and no paint job would address the fact that underneath...its a rust bucket... I like your ride sir. And I too, always liked the LH cars...

Buick News: Buick Envision: To Import or Not Import?
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
Ive always liked the interior of the Chinese Envision, but the exterior looked like just another Vue-ick. I see lots of Captiva in it. Thanx BLU for the credit... Ive seen interior pictures of the Chinese Envision and I too, think its a snazzy interior. One thing I like about Chinese Buicks...is that the interiors are nicely done.- 29 replies

...... but... it's all wheel drive It is AWD. And that's fine. But it's FWD-based AWD that is riding on a mainstream platform. It is an acceptable stopgap for D6, if the price is right. But it is no more a flagship, or even premium model than the Cadillac XTS, and for the exact same reason. And Im willing to bet, that even if it was RWD...or RWD based AWD...that 99.999999999% of the population would not know what wheels are powering what... And those include the luxo buyers.... Its only the very few car enthusiasts that put an emphasis on RWD... I, however do agree that it should be RWD....or RWD based AWD...,but seriously speaking....Lincoln is not targeting that enthusiast crowd anyway...unlike Cadillac... And like I said...to which you have agreed, it is a great starting point for Lincoln with this Continental... If the price is right? What is the XTS's selling price anyway?

How did you know I was talking about you? Because I have a habit of being long winded... I take after my mother. You know the kind...Greek mothers, that always have a story to tell... Besides...I have gotten compliments of my long windedness before... You really are the first to whine about it... ...and throw a shoe my way... In to which I decided to give you the middle finger...two middle fingers...all in the name of fun of course... Peace out... Sooooo... you're 8 years old too? Nah...Im just giving you a piece of my mind....with visual stimulation because as you have stated...too many words makes you doze off... PS...OCNBLU...dont try to out-wit, out-dramatize a Greek...we invented that shyte... Sarcasm...its in our blood.

I forgot to say....it seems the world would likely to see a mid-engined Corvette before the world will see another NSX. After all the negativity posted in this thread about the upcoming NSX, regardless that some people wish it to fail, I for one, cant wait for it to grace its presence. The NSX looks fantastic and although the LFA was never on my radar screen, other than that V10, I am smitten with the new NSX... Oh...just another painful reminder on how long ago Acura is telling us a new NSX is on its way...

Buick News: Buick Envision: To Import or Not Import?

Buick needs a CUV in between the Encore and the Enclave....but not this Envision....I envision (cool pun, huh?) a CUV sporty with European flair...not Chinese flair... These are of a future Opel SUV rendering I found....THIS is kinda the look that the North American Envision and Enclave should follow through with...a family of CUVs and SUVs that follow this form... There is a tad of Buick Avenir in that...the article says that Opel's Monza concept is very inherent in that design... http://www.worldcarfans.com/115031090283/future-opel-flagship-suv-rendered- 29 replies

OK...that Ill agree to... But not that North Eastern temps will screw it up... It's not the temps, it's the ice and salt. Also, chrome ain't what it use to be. The chrome posted above in those older GM cars is on actual metal (the shaped Cadillac is polished stainless steel rather than chrome technically). They can't really do old style chrome anymore because it is horribly pollutive during the process. I was referring to salt...I said temps...but I got the message you are trying to convey...between Balthazar, El K and yourself...I now got a better understanding of how it may not work...and how it should be done to make it work.

Fair is only fair, Wings... The Continental gets wrongfully denounced....is alls Im saying... It is what it is...

Or is it because some of us are still at grade school level reading...and that is why we may doze off... Ill start posting more pics and less words then...for some posters...

Well...Im disappointed. VTEC did NOT kick in...it has stalled somewhere between the Lexus LFA and Cadillac show stopping show cars...

And most folks not realizing its a Lincoln is a good thing... Most modern folks in 2015 dont really have any emotional ties to Lincoln... The last time modern new millennium society had any real strong emotional ties to a Lincoln was with first and second generation Navigators...and the Lincoln LS sedan...even the Aviator (mini-Navigator) failed to move the needle on the emotional scale... So...like I said...this Continental is a good start for Lincoln to get back some emotion from the people...even if most of those people dont know its a Lincoln...which I happen to think its a good thing... WHY? Lincoln does not have to go down the Oldsmobile and Buick way of self-insulting themselves in commercials like "This aint your father's Oldsmobile" and "That's NOT a Buick!" Lincoln will use the Continental's beautiful lines to do the talking... And in my honest opinion...I really dont see THAT much Bentley in the design...maybe a little...but not enough that Bentley went ape shyte on Lincoln... To tell you the truth...I think Bentley realized just how much bland their cars really are and were taken by surprise that a Continental....Lincoln Continental show car could look more majestic than ANY Bentley....ever...just my opinion.... And yeah...I dont really go goo-goo ga-ga over Bentleys....ANY Bentley...ever! And I really dont care how much they cost to buy...'cause if I had Jay Leno money...Bentley would NOT be my first choice...or second choice...or third, fourth, fifth, and sixth choice for a luxury car purchase...too square lookin'...I mean than literally and figuratively...and yeah...if Lincoln builds that Continental like what we actually see in the pics...Id rather own that than a Bentley...money be damned...

Those are my exact thoughts on the Avenir. And I too...would like to see a long hood AND long deck full sized American car again.

What New Vehicles are You Interested in Reading About?
oldshurst442 replied to ccap41's topic in The Lounge

How old are you? My 8 year old son does not even find that funny anymore...

Still your opinion though... And everybody is entitled to one... I for one...thinks that the Continental far outshines the Avenir...because the Avenir....does look awkward... Good from far...but faaaaaaaar from good....is all Im sayin'... And what is that? A Wraith? A brick of a car that has no style...but costs a fortunes that is why people go goo-goo ga-ga over it....no style is what Im sayin' At least the Continental is lowered closer to the ground and less of a brick...is alls Im sayin'... But the Avenir and Wraith does have it beat in one area though...RWD and both are NOT V6s... Re-read my edited version and see if you got anything else for me. Nah...me likes it this way... I dont need to re-read your edited version... One thing I do agree with you is that One Ford Mullaly has killed Lincoln...and before One Ford Mullaly came into power...Lincoln tried many faces...and conitues that path of many faces not sticking to one bloody design language...If they would just keep one and refine it... Go back to 2002 and see Arts and Science in action....real awkward....it wasnt a smashing success...but enough positive attention was got and Cadillac kept it and refined it... The many faces of Lincoln...were all POSITIVE too, excpet Lincoln never had the patience to actually stick to one and refine it... One could moan about the Continental....its a good start...lets just leave it at that... I wont remind you folk how cheap the frst generation CTS was...and how ugly it was too...but it was polarizing and a Cadillac...and Cadillac took it from there...and remeber...the CTS started off as a Catera...an Opel Omega....the Caddy that Zigs...so...Cadillac dipped their feet into the realm of BMWs...but did not want to commit...then finally...they saw the light...and commited...with the CTS... So...Lincoln is commited...finally...now that One Ford Mullaly is no longer in charge...so...cut Lincoln some slack...

Neither... A spoiler is nice on some cars...and the spoiler itself has to fit the image of the car... A1969 Daytona NEEDS that huge spoiler... A 2015 Buick Regal....does not...in fact,,,the 2015 Regal is sooooo sleek....it does not even need darkened wheels and black chrome trim....its welcomed in my book too, but I dont need those darkened wheels and black chrome to feel sporty in the Regal....what I do need though is that OPC version from Europe to feel sporty... You mentioned the 4rth gen F-Body... You see...the 4rth gen F-Body NEEDED those spoilers...and those flared nostrils and Ram Air ducts and vents...because boy racer...and it fit Pontiac's image to a tee... 1980s cars....needed those spoliers too... A Lambo Countach could not have been THE poster car of the 1980s had it not been for that spoiler...in fact...some people even put front spoilers on that car...it was all about the excess free wheelin' 80s... During the 1970s...the Countach was just a bland car...even with scissor doors...is what Im sayin'....those spoilers and plastic body panels is what made the Countach into a legend is what Im sayin'... So they do have a place is what Im sayin' Im sayin' a lot of things....is what Im also sayin'

Like Ever... And these engines...they fit them ANYWHERE.... I could post pics of LS engine swaps....but that might upset some pure die hard Porsche, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan and just about every oher car maker..fans... Shyte...LS engine swaps are even made in AIRPLANES!!!
-
How 'bout LOVING both them EQUALLY... You are an American, right? Even if you had to raise your right hand and pledge allegiance to the flag...you are still an American... Im born a Canadian....and still love me some Americana....Ford, GM, Mopar... You see, Wings...your attitude right there....it STINKS!!!
-
OK...that Ill agree to... But not that North Eastern temps will screw it up...
-
Yeah...Corvettes do sound great... Oh...you mean the Coyote.....they sound good too... THAT is the difference....YOU are one biased MOFO!!! Why would I want a LARGER in size V8 engine? The Corvette has a more compact V8 that sits very low and very far back in the engine bay making the Corvette technically a front mid-engined vehicle...Technically speaking...one could say the Vette is already a mid-engiend car...in theory.. Does it have its limitations? Sure... But...like El K has said...the SBC has been writing down names and kicking ass since 1955...
-
I dont think so...GM's chrome trim in the 1970s/1980s/1990s held up pretty good in Quebec winters... Just for a visual of some Cadillacs with chrome trim on the bottom of the cars... And Chevy cars had that chrome trim too... I would also check that option and have me some chrome... Part of Americana.... I LOVE Americana... To tell you the truth...not from that angle....does the Avenir shine...it looks awkward from the back...the back end...just looks weird after many days of looking at it...but the Continetal looks good in all angles... Just an opinion...like yours...
-
And it pisses people off that GM keeps on building them...for some reason... I think its because GM spanks some ass with them...oh well...long live the SBC!!! In all its OHV glory!!!
