  1. Its over the top....but that is how Trans Ams were...and Pontiacs for that matter. About the graphics....yeah...Ill agree...eyesore...but that style is from a different time...and had it been a real Trans Am made by Pontiac from General Motors along side the Zeta Camaro...those graphics and fake vents would not be on it....but since its a homage car.... Would you know if International Series Cutlas Ciera 4 doors came with a 3800? Or was it only for 2 door coupes? I dont remember seeing any 2 door International Series Cieras, but plenty 4 door sedans. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ About that Trans Aint Its over the top....but that is how Trans Ams were...and Pontiacs for that matter. If I was into Zeta Camaros...and owned one....Id convert it into one of these...
  2. I have visited Elgin Park this past year. I dont know if I saw a link to Elgin Park in ChearsandGears or when I was surfing the web and I fell upon it by accident type deal...but this man, Mr.Smith, and his wonderful skills have made me appreciate scale modeling even more. I love stuff like this.
  3. Speaking of Alberta. The family is watching Cool Runnings for the umpteenth time. My family loves this movie. It hit me when I saw the skyline in the movie.... Calgary has changed just a little bit since this movie was made. Just a bit. Good grief, that movie is what, 25 years old now... You still see the ski jumps and bobsled run heading out of town on your way to Banff. And of course, the Saddledome is still standing. 22 years if one wants want to be accurate. As happy as I am for Calgary and for Canada to be growing in leaps and bounds...I am saddened as I realized that in 22 years...Montreal and Quebec have not changed at all... The good news...our Champlain Bridge that Transport Canada said was gonna fail and collapse into the St. Lawrence by 2016 is being replaced...and construction of a new one was started this year by tearing down some parts of the highway system leading up to the bridge and an all new highway system...the bridge itself will be started in 2016 in the Spring... The highway system around Downtown Montreal will also be replaced with a brand new plan.... Big changes....finally.
  4. Yeah...Im sure M-B will not disappoint with their top dog luxury car....Im just being difficult. Partly because I dont know how the system works...with the video you posted, I got a better idea...Im still skeptical...albeit a lot less. I still have doubts on the computing power and for the ability of the system to calibrate fast enough on really crappy roads...but alas...all this that Im doing is for nothing....as I have no reason to doubt M-B engineers...because I aint an engineer myself...I just flip burgers for a living. (The restaurant is mine though... ) My doubts will be answered soon enough when automotive magazines will get their hands on one...especially automotive journalists from my neck of the woods.

  6. The video did allow me to understand how the system works though....So thanx for that video SMK...
  7. Yeah...I should have liked it as much as you did because my posting style over at MT....especially when "discussing" matters with the Great Winged One and his sidekick Sideshow Dog Mr. Deaner have about the same level of intelligence and humor.
  8. A plus one vote for both of you as that was funny stuff. I want me this car sooooo bad.
  9. So...you want to discuss the Minions movie, huh? My 8 year old son thought it was the best movie ever My 10 year old daughter just thought it was alright. No more no less, but she did like it. My wife was happy that her kids enjoyed the movie. My thoughts: It was the biggest waste of time I have ever tried to entertain myself with. I had more fun watching Thelma and Louise with a girlfriend that I had just broken up with back in the day than I did with this stupid movie. It was money well spent as my kids loved the movie...however...I was more entertained chewing on the straw I sipped my Coke with by making funny shapes with it during the movie... The soundtrack was OK...as I appreciated the fact they used many songs from the 1960s...but they could have chosen better songs from that era...to better fit the 1960s feel...with better songs that kids could relate to...using said 1960s songs... I did snicker with that Abbey Road reference...yet...I think Love Me Do was a poor choice as well... On second thought: Love, love me do You know I love you I'll always be true So please, love me do Yeah...I could see why they chose Love Me Do.
  10. Yup....I agree. And nothing wrong with riding on somebody else's coat tails either....(hello Adam...with the whole Fiat 500 thing) while doing that whole Adam thing...forging and strengthening the whole "this aint your father's Buick campaign they got going on...along with the Cascada...and let me say that the Cascada...is no way lookin' like a traditional American car....let alone a Buick. And that is why, for me, a Grand National need not be a RWD muscle car, if fact, I prefer that it wasnt. Next generation Opel Insignia OPC/Vauxhaul Insignia VXR is what I want the Grand National to be....possibly with a tad more horsepower bite than its German/English counterparts...
  11. Speed bumps? That mild imperfection is a speed bump? SMK...in Montreal...that is what we call smooth sailing... I think 3 videos are enough to prove my point.
  12. Im curious to know how that camera suspension thingy works. And how well it will perform when an S-Class is driven in pot hole heaven streets of Detroit and Montreal. You know...when roads are imperfect to the degree that they are in Montreal...I doubt that the camera will pick up every single road imperfection and I doubt that it will have the computing power to adjust to every single pot hole and crease and bump....and yes....There are THAT many road imperfections on Montreal roads...and not just one particular road....every single road... So...I am a Doubting Thomas when it comes to that M-B camera system. Its just my opinion though. Something else that I thought of...Montreal....especially in the Spring time...has sooooo many pot holes...that Im afraid the camera system will jostle soooo much...it will be misaligned often...and our pot holes wreak havoc on everything that is suspension and steering related....Im assuming that this will be another expensive victim that will fall because of our roads....and if the camera system is broken....I dont see any advantages over the magnetic shocks... Like I said...its only my opinion. But I do have Montreal pot holes and experience with busted rims and broken ball joints on my side to have such negative thinking...
  13. People are eagerly awaiting for a Cadillac car this big again....especially with this kind of luxurious image...and let us not forget...technology... I dont think there will be any uphill climb...I think the CT6 will smoothly join the Cadillac line-up with strong sales that will complement the Escalade, and SRX/XT5... I think the CT6 is the next star in Caddy's line-up just like the previous generation CTS was. And when that happens...when the CT6 will be finally sold...you will see the rest of the RWD cars follow suit.
  14. Crazy for you (in a sultry voice)Crazy for you It's all brand new, I'm crazy for you And you know it's true I'm crazy, crazy for you It's all brand new, I'm crazy for you And you know it's true...yeah I'm crazy for YOOOOOOUUUUUU!!!! Crazy for you BABAAAAAAAAAY!!!! I'm crazy for YOOOOOOUUUUUU!!!! Crazy for you babayyy.... It still hurts to hear this song after all these years....but Im still mesmerized by the song, the lyrics and the memories...
  15. Oh thank goodness for that. I have never understood why the XTS was not a Buick in the first place. Less weight is always a good thing. Because Cadillac needed a bridge gap car. You know...traditional Cadillac buyers needed to go somewhere...so...why throw them out to the curb? And traditional Cadillac buyers didnt necessarily mean they would automatically go to Buick....now that the Cadillac CT6 has arrived...traditional buyers of Cadillac actually have a choice with the CT6...and now that Buick has fixed its image...traditional Cadillac buyers that dont want a RWD car...might actually consider a Buick...now that Buick is slowly filling the premium class of luxury that Cadillac had....because lets face it...Cadillac was not top tier luxury 5 years ago, Cadillac was really premium and Buick was not really premium...Buick was more or less...mainstream...like a Chevy...
  16. For me #1 is not of an interest. I could find that kind of info anywhere else. Not that I wouldnt read about it here....I would...if fact...it probably make my automotive news that much more complete under one site...but its not something Id look for primarily. #2 is more like Buzz's post...that is why I quoted him. Id like to compare and contrast all the financials behind Uber and Lyft as compared to ownership and leasing Also...any personal stories of people using Uber and Lyft pertaining as how convenient or inconvenient those services are or arent.
  17. I would like to see a Grand National....but not as you think... My idea of the Grand National would be based on the next Regal...TTV6 with AWD...For sure the next Insignia would be getting an OPC version...well, my Grand National would be based on the OPC...with a tad more bite. I dont want a RWD Grand National... 1. Buick is no longer where it was in the 1960s...nor the 1980s...and thank goodness...no where near it was in the 2000s....which means that Buick's renaissance is made with Buick's new image...therefore a new Grand National also deserves a new formula. 2. A Regal hasnt been RWD in over 20 years...a FWD W-Body Regal had ups...and then it had its downs...bad enough downs that they muddled the name Regal and the name Century...bad enough downs that Buick stupidly merge the two into one....bad enough downs where enough years went on by that NECESSITATED Buick to just merge the two COMPLETELY together and rename the two into one FWD W-Body Lacrosse...But....with a surprise renaissance...Buick gave us back a very European and competent Regal...and so a Regal T-Type, Grand National and maybe a GNX top dog....deserve a brand new identity too... 3. Leave Cadillac with RWD/AWD TTV6 performance...Buick can handle all the FWD/AWD performance... Next up...Id like to see an Avenir type Park Avenue with a 4 door coupe version called Riviera...just like how Mercedes does an E Class and CLS...
  18. Maybe they will just stick to real Mopar SRT engines and just deal with the Viper's own V10... Listen SMK...it has been done...with LS swaps and Ford 302s...and...its not as if Mopar's 5.7 liter V8 HEMI is a super expensive exotic motor... No...a car like that wont be like a nimble AC Ace....nor like a 289 Cobra...it'll be more like a 427 Cobra... Yes...front heavy...but V8... Some of us like that kind of...muscle car formula...some of us dont... But...to argue with a dream of a post that I made...its kinda ridiculous...dont you think? That post was made in jest...pointing out some very eerie similarities between a AC Ace, a Miata...a Cobra...a Viper...a Fiat Spider....Carrol Shelby...FCA...MOPAR and Abarth...
  19. Ill try to work myself up to 69.... I know what you dirty dogs are thinking... Shame on you for having sinful thoughts... I was thinking more in terms of a 1969 Hurst Olds...like my name...TSK TSK TSK on all of you with your dirty, perverted minds...
  20. On a lighter side of things....about my rep....I guess Heinz was my inspiration.
  21. It could be done... It HAS been done...with Ford 302s and Chevy LS swaps... Not sure with a 5.7 Hemi...and that is where I may have hit a snag...but suspensions systems and cooling and transmissions and rear ends and motor mounts that fit oil pans so there are virtually no issues with clearances of any kind all have been solved a long time ago allowing FORD 302s and GM LS engines to be swapped quite easily... So yeah...Id welcome a SRT8 version of a Fiat Spider... an Italian version of a Viper....which in turn is a Mopar spiritual version of a Shelby Cobra....which ironically Shelby himself had a say in the Viper while being with Chrysler in the 1980s....because he got the boot from Ford...and the Cobra was based on a British Roadster....which the Fiat is based on the Miata...which is a spiritual successor to the British Roadster....can you say this crazy thing I just dreamt up has "come full circle"? I think its a neat way of seeing things... And I definitely think its a neat thing to want...
  22. Have fun on your vacation, Drew.
  23. Duesenberg...wow...never even crossed my mind...because I dont get to hear things about them anymore...anywhere about anything...Duesenbergs are rarely in my train of thoughts... I did not want to go with Rolls Royce....but I did not have any other ideas...I was stuck... Thanx for that...it made me use my automotive knowledge logically and I used process of elimination to the best degree that I could. I may have a limited amount of engine builders knowledge...Im just happy that at least I was in the right direction... PS: The Spitfire....and as it happens, the Mustang too... in my sig, pushed me to say Rolls Royce.
  24. I know Oldsmobiles and Buicks had inline 8 engines...and they were in big cars... But somehow I dont see that many timing chains in them... Which leads me to ask this...if not a tank...because the engine looks like a robust engine so... many timing chains....that might suggest a racing car? Alfa Romeo had inline 6s and 8s for their race cars...but I cant visualize a big robust engine in a small Alfa racer... Mercedes raced slightly bigger cars than Alfas...but you said it aint a Mercedes engine... Im leaning towards European though.... I dont know enough about Rolls Royce or Bugatti...but Ill go with Rolls Royce...their cars were big cars to house a big engine...because I keep on coming to that beefy engine... Rolls Royce is my final answer, Regis.
  25. Fiat Spider Abarth Edition...with the Fiat Spider coming from a Mazda via the MX5...aka Miata... Mazda...Miata...FCA...Fiat Spider...ABARTH...MOPAR...VIPER... Why is it that I keep on thinking about a Monster Miata...but in crazy MOPAR SRT8 fashion where the MOPAR boys take that Fiat Spider and create another Viper roadster.... Id rather an SRT8 Fiat Spider than an Abarth one I think... PS: No need to go crazy....no need for a 6.1 or 6.4, just the regualr 5.7 Hemi would do, I guess.
