Is there any way Johan de Nysschen can make present Cadillac dealers lose their license to sell Cadillacs if they refuse to co-operate with the vision that Johan has for Cadillac? I know dealerships are fully owned and operated privately and independently from GM...but GM still licenses their right to operate a Cadillac franchise, non? And if so...arent franchisors bound by what corporate office says? Im just confused about the whole "vision they might not support" thing... Its not what they say goes...its what the Cadillac Boss wants that goes... Or is it because car dealerships have their own set of laws and are not run like a "McDonald's franchise"?

yeah...I could see where you are coming from...the rear buttocks remind me of the Avenir somewhat also. But the Avenir is not a coupe, and as SMK said, about Lincoln not doing a Mark VIII and Buick not having a Riviera and an El Miraj / Eldorado still a decade away...this car...with a V8 making 400 horsepower under the hood is a cool thing none the less... Im still waiting for the LF-LC to come along... And by the time it does finally arrive, I will probably lose interest....it has been 3-4 years already with another 2 before it reaches showrooms... Its still a sexy car though... The Acura NSX has my interest currently for Japanese flagships/halo cars... But wait...the way this is written, it seems like the LF-LC is not a sure thing...and Im under the impression that the LF-LC is scheduled to arrive in 2017....am I missing something here?

Chevrolet Trax. Mazda CX3 Honda HRV Small enough to zoom in and out of the urban jungle....in fact...these are urban vehicles that are built exactly for the urban environment. Big enough to carry passengers comfortably. Hatchback design to carry bulky stuff for the Uber passenger. Fuel efficient for the need to be on the road constantly. As far as I know, all three vehicles mentioned are quite reliable so far. And...the best thing about them...Starting base prices is @ $20 000...NEW...plus one could get great prices on them with clearance sales and employee discounts and stuff...

It seems it is you that wants to eradicate pushrods from the face of the earth just because you have a certain driving style and pushrods and loads of torque is against all that you believe in. It seems like you are the intolerant one. Have you noticed that I never said a word about DOHC engines? You have no idea how I feel about DOHC engines....just your preconcieved notions and biases against muscle cars and muscle car type guys... You know what is great about engineering? Its because there is ALWAYS more than one way to solve a problem. You knoiw what is great about engineers? Its that engineers are a tenacious bunch. They WILL find the solutions necessary... And you know what is great about being a car guy? Is that you RESPECT all car philosophies and how engineers answer the same performance equation while getting the same answer using a different solution... About superchargers and pushrod OHV engines and them being big and cumbersome compared to DOCH turbo V8s... Dont tell that to Chevy engineers with their LS-9... Dont tell that to the thousands of hot rodders who swap the original engines of different cars...Porsche 911s, Nissan Sylvias, even Miatas and Toyobaru FRS-BRZs with Chevy`s LS engines...and some of these are supercharged... More détails then this..I cant give you...as I aint an engineer....but I do know one thing...that Chevy`s LS V8 engines... are just about as compact as one could get for V8s...and as for turbos...when you already start with a compact package...as compared to a hugely displaced DOCH V8 which ois bigger in every way as compared to a Chevy LS V8...and DOCH V8 from any manufacturer...your assumptions might be just that...assumptions... PS: You still dont know how I feel about DOCH V8s....I wouldnt make an opinion about how I feel about them if I were you...because stating that Chevy LS V8s are a smaller package thyan DOCH V8s is just facts...

I just realized how much I miss those huge Cadillac cars of the past. I LOVE me some huge Cadillac cars. I WANT ME SOME huge Cadillac Cars...REAL Cadillac cars...No...not the Escalade...Not the ATS-V... This is where I have a problem with Lincoln: For me...every single car that Lincoln makes, that is based on a Ford equivalent...its because I prefer the looks of the Ford than the Lincoln... Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ - I prefer the looks of the Fusion...by a landslide. Last generation included. Including the restyled 2012 Fusion over the Lincoln counterpart. Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX- As much as I enjoy the 2016 MKX....the 2015 Edge for me hands down. The first generation....The Edge and the MKX were a tie for me in the looks department. Which means I loved both equally. And sadly....this is where it ends for me with Lincoln...because all other Lincolns...I dont care for... With that being said, I WANT the Continental to be exactly like the show car that Lincoln showed us...I dont want the production version to be less than what was shown to us... Which brings me to what I value in a luxury car....well....one of the things that I value... is LOOKS... A luxury car's looks has to move my emotions. It has to make me say "WOW! Would you look at that!" It has to say that to other on lookers as well... The looks of a luxury car has to polarize everybody... Im afraid...for me at least...Lincoln does not do that...in fact...Lincoln's counterparts from the Ford showroom actually do that...which to me...does not bode well for Lincoln when a lesser Ford counterpart polarizes me and others more than the "luxury" brand's version. The Continental show car did that though...polarize me. And others too. So much so...it ruffled Bentley's feathers...at least that is my take on how Bentley reacted to Lincoln's Continental. BTW...I dont think Bentley's look all that hot anyway...but that Lincoln Continental made me say...WOW! Finally! A Lincoln that looks majestic... A Bentley...any Bentley...just look like 4 wheeled blobs... A Mulsanne....is OK lookin', but at the price Bentley is asking for a Mulsanne...Id look elsewhere had I had that kind of dough to spend on a car... Which leads me to this point of view....I really dont think people like the way Bentley's look like...I just think they know how much they cost, and that is the reason why they like them...because they are insanely expensive...and its the price tag that drives the sales.... Kinda like a Michael Korrs handbag... In Quebec a decade ago...Toyota had no haggle policy...I dont remember if Lexus had one too..and I dont know if Toyota still has this no haggle policy...but good luck to them if that is the route they want to take in the States...

Well... I dont know all the metrics that are involved in selling mid-sized trucks in North America. Alls I know...back in the 1950s and 1960s...the pick-up trucks we had were mid-sized...they were no bigger than compact pick-ups from Europe...This trend continued int the 1970s and then these pick-ups became bigger and bigger...but...the D3 continued to peddle compact and mid-sized pick-up trucks...then the J3 offered compact pick-up tucks in North America....then all of a sudden...this market just disappeared....only Toyota successfully sold their compact/mid-sized truck...until the Canyonado came back...of course the Canyon was sold in the 1990s...but it was a poor effort....now that this generation came to be...the sales just befuddle me...because like I said...they went away, quickly in the 1990s. Granted, I dont know all the metrics and history of this market to truly carry an intelligent conversation.

I think it was a GREAT move to sell mid-sized trucks again. I wonder if Ford will bring their global Ranger in North America...might be a very interesting battle if they do bring it over...

I turned it off because I was going on vacation myself and wanted to stop the misuse of the voting system. I just wanted to have a relaxing vacation. Yes...very understandable indeed... However...the misuse of the system constitutes of Wings crying to you about the downvoting... In other words...
