  1. http://goauto.carsales.au/mellor/mellor.ns...A2570660017AC20 New Mitsubishi Triton (foremerly known as the 1987-96 Mighty Max in a previous generartion, then the basing of the 1997-2004 Montero Sport SUV) in Australia. Looks very stylish, a bit smaller than Dakota-based Raider, which I think they did a nice job with. Mitusbishi has styling potential, I just don't see it in the horrifyingly ugly 20067 Eclipse.
  2. Yeah I've missed his non-auto article posts as well-did he leave solely because of the shutdown? And he included me in the tapes as well, I still have them-haven't watched them in a while, but I still remember that one day back in first GCC semester in 2002 when they came in the mail, how excited I was.
  3. Yeah its supposed to be based on the S3X version, built in Korea I think, based on the Theta front or all-wheel-drive car-based SUV architecture. Supposedly there will also be qa D-segement MPV larger based on Epsilon (II I'd figure), slotting above Zafira.
  4. I agree with you there on the TrailBlazer/Envoy basings. If those were done, I'd recommend the 4200 I-6 engine be standard; 4800 V-8 and.or 5300 V-8's optional. I'll say this about Express and Savana-their interiors and equipment desperately need to be upgraded to match their exteriors-even the deluxe trim level (LS at Chevy, SLE at GMC) still has cloth and vinyl upholstery! That's absolutely cheap and disgraceful. aAnd I think a CD or cassette player-less AM-FM Stereo is standard on all except conversion models. WHY? WHY? WHY? Its 2006!! There is no reason ANY vehicle, even a little Aveo SVM should have a stereo-only included as standard! NONE! Anyway, I thought the Astro still looked surprisingly fresh after the 1995 exterior freshening-even more so 1999-onward (the interior was redesigned in 1996; though Base and LS trims still had cloth/vinyl-SL and SLE for the GMC Safari side). Rkm-by sister vans he means the also-rotten Saturn Relay, Buick Terraza, and Pontiac Montana SV6, all of which are front or all-wheel-drive car-based minivans. Remember, Venture was replaced by Uplander.
  5. Roadmaster as a coupe and convertible? That doesn't make much sense. On the other hand, as a Riviera it would.
  6. Why has their platform info always been so confusing? Is the 2004-now Galant/Endeavor/Eclipse stretched from the 2007 Lancer (or vice versa, rather)? Or is everything compact and mid-size Lancer-stretched? This info has been so confusing for sometime. I thought the Sebring JS41 (2007) looked like the Infiniti G35 sedan in the side glass, but of course with passing fad slant-down sill line mixed with the Airflite. Looked okay, but a fully or near-horizontal side window sill as seen on Airflite (my favorite recent concept from Chrysler) would be much better I think-more of a substantial feeling, traditional too I suppose. And so this is the mid-size lineup I'm thinking is what's been rumored: Chrysler Sebring JS, convertible, sedan. Dodge (Vertex?) aka Stratus replacement JS, sedan, possible 5-door hatchback sedan. Chrysler JC49-Pacifica Junior or Airflow or something?
  7. That LTZ sedan looks nice-bright-insert bodyside moldings, color-keyed OSRV mirrors....I'll still take an Impala because it seats 6 and has a real cloth interior. I saw on the Chevy website last night that the former LS (now LT) has the 4-cylinder standard, and the 2.2-liter at that. So stupid, I don't understand why they did it-and why the V-6 is still not an option for retail Malibu LS (former Base) models. Still a mighty unimpressive car overall-the next one needs more width (69" for a mid-size car is no longer valid, and hasn't been since the first Taurus came out-yet GM's done it anyway), it should be at least 71" wide, 72 preferred. It also needs to get that class-leading 17.1 cubic feet back-the 1997-2003/(04-05 Classic) may be one of the most mundane cars ever, but it had class-leading cargo space and good space efficiency-though it was slightly beat when the 2000 Saturn LS-Series sedan came out. And how about red and blue returns for the interior, along with real cloth upholstery and available 6-passenger seating? The prices are still a little high for non-LS models as well-that is one of many other things that needs to change.
  8. Nice additional photos, but the Silverado still sucks, and its even worse by the retarded trim level shuffle (i.e. former Base model is now LS; LS is now 1LT, and then 2LT and 3LT-like that's not going to confuse people)-its so stupid-what were they thinking? And considering a Ram 1500 SLT is about $22,000-23,000 the last time I checked, the comparable 1LT is a still vastly-overpriced $26,000-WHY???
  9. Uncle Dave=Mule Bakersdozen LS! Got the name change from the fabulous MAD Magazine (December 1970 issue) movie satire of the 1970 movie Airport, called Airplot, as done by artist Mort Drucker and writer Larry Siegel, then-leaders of their time. One of the main characters was named....Mule Bakersdozen (it wasn't the guy played by Dean Martin). Thought I'd explain that. Good to see everyone back and the site back!
  10. Its an improvement, but more could still be done-namely trim level reshuffling, front split bench for LS/LT (or, Base and LS rather), a few exterior trim shuffles, and maybe a more SSR-inspired steering wheel-I've seen it in the flesh and it is by far the best of all Chevy steering wheels put together (then again, that's not hard considering how ugly and cheap/pedestrian looking most of them are).
